it was a sad sad day...
i have worked tremendously hard to achieve driving the LS430 UL...
started with the ES....worked my way up to a GS....and finally my LS430 UL
At 8:54 am....on my way to the office....I get stuck in traffic....I look in my rear view mirror and see a 2008 Chevy Tahoe coming my way........and he wasnt slowing down.......by the time I realized he wasnt gonna stop.....I had no choice......but to just hold on tight............and [SIZE=6]BAM[/SIZE]

I think we've all summed up at how messed up this is, and how we know you can bounce back from it. Your insurance should cover it since they will be receiving all monies from the other person's insurance company. Good Luck man.... :sad:

You need to contact your insurance and provide receipts for the aftermarket parts and have them pursue the additional money for those. I'm guessing you know that already, but just in case.  Good luck sucks to see but at least your ok

That is a hard thing to see, another UL 430 hurt like that. I hope you're ok and that you get taken care of by the insurance companies.

I work for a chevy dealer, had the body shop estimator look at it......he said it will probably get repaired[IMG]http://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif[/IMG] I frown cause I dont want to drive a Lexus thats been in a collision....
My GSM said that if they do repair it, I can file suite for diminished value on a luxury car...

Get this, the driver that hit me is a big wig for General Motors....the first thing I noticed were the manufatured plates....I then asked him what he did for GM....

for the damage i ca tell you its a total lost , i dont know over there how insurance companies work but here you can choose to keep the car an some cash an let it become a rebuild title vehicle , unless you really want something else they make sure they total loss the car for sure , looks like you'll need frame work if you keep it so good luck with whatever you decide and glad you are ok !

Sorry to hear this that is quite the hit.

Hopefully you don't end up with back problems.  My fiance was in over two years ago in her car and after one surgery she is still in constant pain and can barely walk and do stairs.

push for a total loss... not gonna be worth the hassle when it comes time to sell... you start pushing your adjuster for "diminished value" he will see what he can do about totaling it.  Literally went through this process two weeks ago with his mini Cooper S.    If your cool about it with the adjuster, he will be cool with you (and dont let him tell you he doesnt have the authority to total a vehicle because he does.)

(A Tahoe ran a stop sign and crashed into me a couple years ago that's what started my exterior remodel and repaint on my GS).

Of course I want it Totaled.....(cause I dont want to own a LS430 thats been hit) but I guess thats not up to me.
 
guess I would choose a Lexus dealer body shop to fix if thats the case....and maybe take them to court for diminished value

so has the adjuster stopped by to let you know whats up? hopefully youll get totaled out cause i agree with you on that issue. my brother in law just totaled his ucf20 so i know the pain (i convinced him to buy a LS) but good thing is that he is upgrading to a newer LS

Car was deemed a TOTAL LOSS today.
 
the adjuster kept telling me it was faaaar from a total loss, and that they wanted to fix it....blah blah blah....
 
I left it alone for a few weeks....knowing it would start hurting them....cause of the rental.....finally I called them and told them if they were gonna fix it then I would have done no other place than a Lexus certified collision center (2 in Dallas) both wouldnt touch the car! too much damage.
 
so today it was a  total loss.... still negotiating the figures. 
I countered of course cause of it being a UL. 
and they still havnt heard taxes and rear bumper....

What insurance company do you have that would want to fix the car when even the Lexus collision techs wouldn't want to do it?

They must have some body shop that would do it cheaper than it would cost to pay you out or something...

did you also go see your chiropractor/physician like what everyone is saying?  it's good that you haven't felt any pain so far, but something might pop up later on (hopefully never... no amount of money is worth having spine issues)
