for 2gs3's

so my car has been leaking oil for the past 2 weeks.  brought it to my boys shop to check it out.  thought it was the rear main seal but it isnt.  its the oil pan.  not the lower one but the upper.  and the motor has to be pulled to re seal it.  so beware if you have an oil leak, it may cost you plenty.  not happy.

problem is is that you cant really prepare for it or prevent it.  just hope it doesnt happen to any of you guys.

while hes under there hes going to do everything also. so hopefully i can go 100k without any problems.  my mechanic said its weird cuz i only got 100k on it.  gonna have me ball joints changed out too

LOL or is it a lexus? It may say Toyota in the engine but the badges say Lexus so I think its a Lexus. LOL

yo fatty my leak was pretty bad and all of the sudden.  but being an oil pan it can just leak a little or a lot.  also there were no sihn of leaks anywhere in the engine bay.  the leak dripped in the rear of the motor near the exhaust if this will help narrow it down.

while it was out i re did a whole tune up and had my guy change out most of the seals in the motor.

Wow, sorry to hear that Norman.  Similar crap happened to my SC, screw repairing it...throwing in a newer motor this week!

thats going to be a fresh motor though. if you dont mind me asking what is this costing you? my guestimate is about 2k give or take some change?

im paying 1600 for repairing the pan.  but while hes in there he is changing all the seals and doing a complete tune up on the car and replacing almost everything, which hes just gonna charge parts.

Damm I feel for you Norman I did this to my lexus 2 What I thought was a simple oil pan gasket replacement  ended being a nightmare, I was able to get the pan off by just lifting the motor up enough to clear because I wasnt about to remove the cross member, why lexus designed it that way beats me.

ok just got her back today.  with all the extra work i had done it wasnt that bad.  car feels like it shifts better with the tranny cleaned out though.  but it still sucks that after all that money it looks the fucken same.  so today i drove around with my rims tucked just because...cant do it when my tires are bald
