Help us kill the ORPHAN WORKS BILL (S2913)

Cliff Notes:

A bill is being passed that basically orphans "unclaimed" works of art, which is usually stuff can be found online -- graphics, photographs, songs, etc. In essence, the bill would basically allow people/companies to say that they tried to contact the original artist but couldn't find them, so the work is theirs to use without recourse. It leaves the artist with nothing, since all another entity has to say is that they tried, without any proof that they actually did. It's basically piracy, but instead of hurting large corporations it hurts the artists directly who rely on resale/licensing of these works. 

So, please just take a few seconds to oppose the passing of this bill. I know a lot of people who would appreciate it, as they make ALL of their income from resale. This is spreading like wildfire in the photography community, so I'm sure it's doing the same in other artistic communities.

For those who heeded the call to action this afternoon to try to stop
the Senate from "hotlining" the bill, thank you.Passing controversial legislation by this process, i.e. under the radar,is deeply troubling to say the least and every Senator needs to be held accountable. But now our focus is the House.
