I'm not picking on you but I've been noticing some disturbing trends in your posts where it almost seems like you're randomly typing some inane comments that are troll-like and unsensical. Please tell me you seriously are not doing this purposely.... :rules:

You want money to go to Defense (if you spell it with a "c" you must be outside of the U.S.), and to our Economy.... yet you want Obama to be elected? This may sound like simple rhetoric but by definition Democrats DO NOT promote defense spending or buildup, and they strive to create big government that drains us due to the higher taxes we get hit with to pay for this bigger government. I see your really into this.
seems you ran out of material.... what happened? couldn't find any quotes from some slander film to post up? or was the person feeding you the misinformation not available? I'll be honest with you, I personally don't think you are stupid, I'm actually glad you take some interest in our political system, something most people your age could care less about, but trust me when I say that acting like you know what you're talking about, and knowing what you're talking about are two different things and could make yoou seem less knowledgeable on any subject. I believe you should research, not just pro-sites but also the "other view-sites" and then surmise an opinion rather than just one sided views. I did my homework like most people did on this site, and I know who i'm voting for based on seeing both sides of the fence, just like most who are voting for Obama may have researched both sides of the fence and come to the conclusion of voting for Obama. I respect that.
i'm glad the bailout didn't pass. those 700B dollars were going to come out of our pockets. we just gotta tough it out .
I agree with you, it was not the answer to a problem that was brought about by greed, and mismanagement, political bedfellows were so immersed in the concept of the fast and easy almighty dollar that no one cared that even our largest institutions were writing bad contracts for easy money. Our congressmen failed us, they were too blinded by the prospect of contributions to future elections, that they sold us for a 30 pieces of silver... and then just blamed each other when the ish hit the fan.
i see a bad future of all ... and I see myself Not modding the like I would like to yet to just be able to keep what I have ...
All that bush's done aside, isn't he still voted the worst Prez in history? Unfortunately, he won't be remembered by all the good things he's done. The media constantly bashes him and i'll admit, when he's addressing the country, i simply block him out. IMO not an intelligent political figure.
this thread makes me think that 3/4 of america have no clue on our situation, take a lesson in history/economics, and see what your boy billy clinton did for this to happen with the mortgage lenders/banks. People need to do some research here...
well that's only due to the fact that liberal media (about 85%-90% of the major media) have done nothing but bash him left and right since their golden boy Gore got beat out by oddly enough, the system we setup when we have close races, the electoral college. ever since then they have been hell bent on making sure the regular, non-researching people that will take statements at face value as the truth, believe that Bush is the devil, republicans are wrong and that the economy is a Republican caused problem... but if even Clinton stated it was Democrats who did this why can't the media? hell they love McCain so much yet they talk all this crap? Hypocrites!! oh and yes this was in good fun just some interesting videos I found and wanted to share hahahaha
sikNlow-- Thank God there is someone on here with some actual data backing their statements..... scary times we are in man when people are making some outrageous accusations with no rhyme or reason other then that Michael Moore or some other nut job said so.
The bail out is bad. It's capitalism, your business goes sour, and you fall. SO let it happen. Bailing out is just one more step towards government controlling society. Besides, 700b is not something I want to have to pay for something that isn't my fault. BTW, dow jump 440ish points in hopes this goes through. Pumping money into the economy, like they are trying to do, is just not going to work, and this country is going to hit harder the longer they keep trying to prop up that paper house in the wind.

I have to Admit that I Agree with you on SOME of your Statements, but I dont understand why your "Reaching" back to the last known Democratic President and Put Blame on Him. In the Clinton Era the Fanny Mae Housing Agreement was a Very Good Idea to Help Responsible Young Buyers with Home Ownership. It Help me Get My Home that I Still Have because I Was Blessed to Hold On to My Job through 8 Long Years. In the Clinton ERA Jobs were Plentiful the Economy was Beautiful and Home Ownership was a Practical Idea for the Time. Then the Scandal, Clinton gets some Head, Monica Saves the Dress, in Steps BUSH. I wish Some One would Have Sucked Bush Off and Saved the Dress cause We Endured 8 Years of BUSH. A Texas OiL Tycoon. We Knew He was in the Oil Business and a WAR Monger with our Experience from the Last Bush that was In Office before Clinton. Fast Forward 8 Years Later and Here "We Are" as Americans in the Worst Economy in Decades. And You have a Chance to Change the World. One Candidate Speaks about the War and How He was a POW Seeking Revenge Is Sure McCain will Set It Off with Russia, North Korea and Iran at the Drop of a Hat because His ASS is Still Sore from Waving the White Flag Over Seas. The Other Candidate is a Minority that Speaks for the Middle Class and the Americans who are at Home in Poverty, His Experience is Witnessing First Hand the Devastation that is On Our OWN Shores. The Unemployment and Inflation from Coast to Coast. The Hard Working HomeOwners that had a Chance at the American Dream are Now Homeless in Under 8 Years because of the Economy, The Congress and the Current President. The Media Bashes Bush and Republicans because they REPORT on the there Actions. WE the People Respond and they Get Ratings. Not Only are We Paying Attention but The WORLD is Watching this Election. The World is Ready for Change, and YOU have the Chance to Change the World with Just One Vote. OBAMA '08 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xfxjL-YjT6U

correct and when I do vote to change the world it will be for the better and not the worst. I will vote for McCain, he will put money into the Defense system unlike Obama, he will say... oh wait, he already DID SAY that who cares who's to blame let's fix this instead. Unlike Obama who is still trying to blame others for what his party achieved.
Sen. The “trust fund” does get its revenues from a legislatively fixed share of the surpluses of the government’s Federal Housing Administration or the profits from the government-sponsored enterprises Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. The latest version — in the housing and GSE oversight bill that cleared the Senate Banking Committee in May — would establish the fund by taking 1.2 basis points of interest from Fannie and Freddie’s loan portfolio — about $500 million a year. - over the 2 year life of the bailout that is 1 billion out of $700 billion in the rescue bill with $625 million going to Acorn and such groups for “housing aid”- after two years, all of the money to Acorn would go to the housing grant for bailing out troubled homeowners through FHA guarantees of modified loans (Richard Shelby in May stated he had reached a “compromise” with committee chairman Chris Dodd on the housing fund such that money from the “trust fund” would be used to fund the bill’s main action of bailing out troubled homeowners through FHA guarantees of modified loans. After two years, all of the money would go to the housing grant. The version of the bill that passed the Senate committee in May “diverted” half of the money intended for the housing trust fund in its first year and 25% in its second year, but after that 100% of the funds go into the housing trust fund).
The trust fund would allow recipients (Acorn and such) to use the money for lobbying and possibly political campaigning only because the prohibitions on using the funds for lobbying and political activity contain virtually no teeth in enforcing these bans. There are no explicit requirements for recipients of the grants to fill out timesheets for housing activity, or restrictions on groups using grant money to pay employees who also happen to do other things — such as lobbying and political campaigning. And there are really no penalties other than being forced to give the money back and being disqualified for a new grant.
It is true that ACORN histrory includes election fraud and misuse of federal funds with several ACORN workers indicted and/or convicted of voter registration fraud with phony signatures, and with Acorn sanctioned specifically for misuse of federal housing funds. In 1994, the ACORN Housing Corporation (AHC) received a grant from the newly created Americorps to assist low-income families at finding housing. In applying for the grant, the AHC claimed its activities were completley separate from ACORN - only to find out one year later via the Americorps Inspector General that “AHC used Americorps grant funds to benefit ACORN either directly or indirectly” with several instances of cost-shifting from ACORN’s lobbying group to the housing entity, and also found several instances of steering recipients of housing counseling into ACORN memberships.

First off Mike, I'm not Brandon lol. Second, I think both of you guys need to just relax and not attack people's maturity or point of view towards leftists/rightists, and leave that for a different thread. Anyways, you're the Admin, not me. Have at it.
.
I think you're both being ridiculous at this point... I've never, and it isn't the first time I've stated this, I'VE NEVER HIDDEN BEHIND THE POSITION OF ADMIN you want to come at me, then do so like a man and don't try and hide behind my title. It's run up or shut up, no need to back down. If you want to put people on blast I'll gladly do so via PM, and believe me no holds barred there. So PM me if you feel like you need to e-thug your little heart away. Peace out. P.S. unknown007: stop cosigning shit you know nothing about and acting non-chalant about it. you can edit the post but the ignorance remains. 17 or not it isn't an excuse for no-fact backed statements. PM me too if you like we'll keep this private from here on out. Lates.
Whoa Mike, I didn't mean it like that man. It's things like this that cause drama on the forums, little arguments that turn into mud slinging that turn into hatred towards other members that are not needed. This thread went from being for/against the 700Bn bailout, to a thread about rep/dems, then turned to personal attacking through blanket statements man...read it, I know you see it. All I'm sayin is just everybody chill out and get back on topic of the 700Bn bailout...that's it.
.

.
hahahaha i love watching backpeddling in politics by dems and repubs, and it's funnier on forums. So this one ended quick.
Robert, I too am about the promotion of understanding over drawing party lines... how are we to ever get anywhere if we don't talk about issues? I don't think you have been hard on the kid at all... if you are going to make blanket biased statements in a public setting, the record should be set straight and that is what you have done.
that's just it I wasn't even attacking him personally but questioning his judgement and lack of reasearch or lack of evidence. I mean I enjoy a healthy mature back and forth discussion not with the aim of persuading people to change their minds but to actually educate. I withdrew lots of knowledge from people in this thread as well as the thread that Mike opened, but to have someone come in and make some outrageous claims or statements then not even be held responsible when asked to provide some substance to those claims/statements is just wrong, regardless of age. Opinions are great as long as they are based on substantial evidence or reason. To those who would say I "lost my cool" , " let my true colors show", or "couldn"t handle it", all I have to say is if you look at the In-and-Out GTG thread in the regional section, you'll see me carrying on like nothing happened no more than 2 minutes later.... that's because in my mind nothing did happen, but internet body language will never be read hahahahahaha

Senate passed it. House still has to. I hope it fails.
you and me both, there is never a reason why citizens should bailout business, business should be bailing out business by purchasing the failing companies and such, and then we should only fund a minor portion if needed.
I agree, however the main reason to my knowledge(aside from insuring over half of the us mortgages)Salli-mae, Indy-mac, and Aig got bailed was because the Fed Reserve knew it wouldn't have the ins to cover everyones losses (since these firms were the primary for banks to use). I too believe in the (really really)long run things will begin to level out w/o this bailout. Insted of the short proposed solution which will cause serious inflation. I vote NO on the bailout!!!
.
Why do YOU hope it fails?
.
So you are just parrotting what people have been saying, and don't understand what this is for then.
so when is the bailout vote for the house. next week right? now after doing more research about all of this i have lost my opinion on this. at first i heard it will help the people, then i hear that angry americans are against it. aug, youre in the banking, can you help me out with the pros and cons. ive been watching nothing but news and larry king and 360 but im lost. if you dont wanna put it on here you can pm me.
This bail out, was originally for companies, banks, big companies that may be in trouble. Now, the 'bailout package' has been changed and pork barrelled with a bunch of crap that we don't need, like 128 million for auto racetracks, a 2 million dollar tax break on wooden arrows that are too small to be shot with more than a 30lb bow, and the kicker, a tax on carbon di-oxide, which totally goes againsts the race track funding, since they contradict each other and just show once again how much hyprocracy there is in politics, and just tossing crap into a 'package' to really get re-elected. Like I've said many a time before, you can't stick a band-aid on a wound that need stitches and call it a day. This bail out package will NOT help, and will only make the economy crash harder than it is already going to. It's not a good thing, and it's not the way they need to spend money that they don't have. They would have a better chance of pulling out of the whole middle east thing, tighten spending immensely, etc etc. "bailing out companies" by buying them up, turns them into more gov't control. These companies that are bankrupted, need to be sold off to others that can afford to buy them up. Not the gov't.
tHE PATRIOT ACT... one of the Biggest bullshit bills ever passed in american history... posse comatatus.. gone... along with a ton of other "rights" American citizens are supposed to have protected by the constitution.. that now can be suspended Via martial law and the "Patriot Act" Imperialism is not american... Lets give all the taxpayer money to the elite bankers that run the world with there corrupt and Flawed Fiat monetary system... Look it up 1933 Prescot Bush along with J P morgan tried to overthrow the US government.. Also supported the NAZI war machine... Look at history it is all there you have to find it... They do not allow certain books to be produced becasue of the information that is in them, the same things that communist countries do in order to not allow the real information to be seen by the population... America was started and fought for because people did not want to be controlled by government and were tired of being over taxed.. looks like were right back to where it all began... No where in the constitution does it say that anyone is "Entitled" to anything.. So where does this notion come from that the government is here to support the people and take care of those who choose not to help themselves? Socialism and Federalizing what was a free market is not good. plane and simple this country is going to hell and a hand basket quick. poeple can tell you all about there favorite "IDOL" or what "Star" dances the best, but they cant tell u shit about what way there congressman has voted or anything about american history... Something is flawed... Sorry for the rant but dam i am so pissed... what would happen if they paid out 700billion back to the taxpayers??? we would all be millionares
.
So...one more quick question. What happens when that 700Bn runs out? Then what?
