I finally did it y32 JIC COs on Y33

So to all the naysayers who said Y32 coilovers on a Y33. Its done i also installed the Evo brembo calipers on my car with SS brake lines.

So what is needed to get the coilovers to fit????

A hub centric 4mm sandwich spacer between the Hub and the rotor with longer studs. Z32 Caliper and brake lines (I did Evo Brembo caliper and Evo Rotor with new brackets from Zilvia)

Now the calipers need to come off cleaned dis assembled and off to the powder coaters for a super secret color...oh yeah the y32 coilovers are shorter than the y33 JIC. Mine were rebuilt by EMI racing since JIC is being a bitch about it. I have them set on full stiff right now.

Yeah that is it I did that and I got the brakes on the car and everything bolted in nice and tight and the rotor spins freely no grinding and the pads are set nicely in.

So go get some jic coilovers for a y32 then send them to EMI racing and tell Erik I sent you
he will set you straight these coilovers are no joke either very smooth and tight....

Amir, did you just use the stock y33 tie rod ends? Also, will you need the spacer if you use the 30mm Z brakes?

yes just use the factory y33 tie rod ends. Yes you will need the spacer between the rotor and the wheel hub because the brake spindle ears on the y33 are too thick and the rotor will not be centered in the caliper and it will hit the calipers inside. Now the other option is to get the brake ears machined down about 4mm. But I think the spacers is a better idea as you will not weaken the spindle and cause it to break.

Good luck burgy

you got my number if you need any more help especially if you need those coilovers rebuilt.

Thanks, I will probably be having them shaved, but we will see once I talk to my resources about which will be easier for them to fab etc. Probably still 3 weekends away though. Nice work! Oh and I already have the front rebuilt.

Ran into another problem I forgot my hub centric rings on the front and talk about vibrations. anything over 70mph was scary hahha. I put them back on and smooth sailing. No pics till my spacers get here then I will unveil my magic.....

Why go through all this trouble when you can get Y33 coilovers to start with? Are the Y32 cheaper?

Thanks to VIPFlame as I did this over the weekend along with Skyline front brakes and 300z rears, Cusco Tension & RUCA's and Toe's. also did new inner and outer tie rods while I was at it. I am riding only 3.5" lower than stock right now, but that is because I am on borrowed G35 wheels. once I get decent wheels I will be going lower. Thanks again.

I used skyline R32 calipers which are the same thing as 300z 30mm calipers but I did Not need to redo the mounting tabs? not sure why, but I had them milled down 4mm and then after it was all put together it turned out that I needed 4mm spacers on the calipers to make it work?

I bought the car from the op. I see no spacer between the rotor and hub on this car when apart. I talked to erik at emi racing today, and while he didn't rebuild these coilovers, he does seem very knowledgable about coilover suspensions. Smooth and tight they are not when blown that's for sure.
