Bellezza's into 2GS? not sure..

Hey guys,

i know this may be a stupid question but i dont like to f things up i would rather ask and make sure i am confident before starting!

i have seen the How To thread, but all the pictures are now gone and it didnt make much sense to me still considering the parts i have.

i understand i have to prep with rubbing alcohol, and ditch the 2 types of stock double sided tape for the 3M red-backed grey stuff. but i am still stuck on how everything goes and what it is all for??

1. Does the metal rail go at the top or at the bottom? i have 1 metal 1 plastic
2. Which way around do the metal rails go? they have circlular holes toward the end on one end.
3. How far in do i stick the rails? i.e. at the bottom i dont want to cover the chrome trim so i was thinking just next to the chrome trim? and right near the edge at the top?
4. The clips are sewn in to the curtains, so why is there so many more?

below is a picture of all the parts in the curtain kit laid out. If someone could tell me what all the clips are and where they go that would really help!

1. the top, you shape it to the door.
2. circular holes should be towards the front of the car for the front and the rear of the car for the rear.
3. wherever you want, try to put it somewhere flat so the tape will have more surace area.
4. I dont think its sewn on it, its just hooked. Its easy to lose all those little pieces.

Definitely dont use the tape they give you, one day in the sun and they all end up falling.

thanks for the speedy reply mate. im surprised the metal one goes at the top, it seems quite hard to bend to shape, im afraid of buckling it and wrecking the tracks. the plastic one seems like it would be easier to stick up there?

So what are all those pieces in the picture? all the hooks are already in the curtains top and bottom, they came like that out of the packet. So i dont know what to do with all the rest. What are the 2 big peg things for? And what are the holes in the metal rails for?

well.... decided to have a better look at these tonight and i think i sussed them out some more. So will update this for future peoples info, and if any1 looks and i have something wrong please let me know...

- metal rail bent to fit up top, these are going back doors so hole in the metal rail to the back of the car

Stuff in the pic above:

- top left clips are spare curtain hanger clips (unneeded)

- top right circle clips i only need 2 of, and they clip into the hole on the metal rail to act as end stoppers so the curtains dont fall off the rails.

- big 'peg' things in the middle are for sticking to the pillars for the curtain hold backs to hook on to to hold them back.

- bottom clip things i only need 8 of and they go on the ends of the rails. the last curtain hanger goes into them on the tie-back end before they clip in to act as the end stop for the curtains. other end of the curtains gets stopped by the circle clips pressed into the metal rails.

^ So am i onto it with the above? the diagrams on the box helped a little but are still a bit confusing, especially since they show a front door installation and are all in Japanese!

Alright had another look at this and thought somemore.

decided that the hole on the metal rail should go toward the front of the car for rear door curtains. Then you can leave the last curtain hanger behind the clip in plastic thing in the hole, and then you insert this hanger into the end cap of the rail and push it in. This means that the curtain is held from falling off the far end by the end stopper and stopped from coming back too far by the clip-in circle thing. !

man what a mission trying to interpret the pictures haha im now worried about bending the metal rail and kinking it but ill try tomorrow...

Yeah don't use the tape they give you, had mine on good for a day then one side fell off, so I got some 3m body molding tape from checkers and everything is sticking on fine really tight.

lexusondubs - i put the metal up top cause the picture said to on the box haha it bent fairly easily but it was a serious pain to get it to the right curve!

anyway i got them on, looking good so far been on about a week or so now. The plastic circular clips that go in the metal rail i couldnt work out, spent ages trying to force them in etc until i realised eventually that they all still had their moulding stuff from the factory on them and thats why they wouldnt go in! so i trimmed them and smoothed them and they clipped in no problems

Just take your time bending the rail because that part always pissses me off but I have not patience:shrug:. If I were you I'd heat the plastic and put it on top, you will save yourself a lot of anger and grief in the long run.

is it cause i suck, or what?

i just put in a pair, but the stoppers only work for the top metal rails. when i plug them into the lower plastic ones, they just fall out. am i missing something?
