EliteXC tonight: Kimbo vs Shamrock and Gina Carano!

I love MMA but I dont think its fair that the future is resting on Kimbo Slice's shoulders. I feel bad for him and will root for him more because of this.

theyve put all the pressure on him to carry the load for other fighters...who diss him because they are better fighters BUT dont bring in the numbers and people that he does.

you would think that theyd be smart enough to know that their success is tied to his.

kinda funny how that works:sad:

...should be a good fight tho:shrug:

That guy Kimbo fought is actually a pretty solid MMA fighter.

I blame EliteXC for this whole thing. Kimbo is not a fighter who can just take on ANY professional fighter at a moments notice. He hasnt been in the ring that long and they promoted him like he was the best heavyweight MMA fighter out there. Fedor can take any fight at a moments notice. He's a professional and the best in the game...its expected of him.

I feel bad for Kimbo because the media and EliteXC created this monster of a character based on him fighting fellow street fighters. He never had the chance to train & grow as a real MMA fighter.

He's doing "on the job training" in a sport that feeds off of blood....wrong move and bad management. Shame on his team and EliteXC for exploiting him before he was a polished fighter. They threw him to the wolves...and was eaten up as expected.

I will not tell you how many companies have come at me thru the years saying they can make me the 'next big thing' overnite. I know what they'll do and im lucky that I dont need the money and could care less about the fame.

I drive well now and getting better...but not good enough to compete where they wouldve thrown me into.

I said "No Thanks"....But some people arent as fortunate and have to do what they can to feed their families. I can understand that too.

I hope that Kimbo will get the wrong people outta his head and train with people who care about the sport we all love. .... without a million people in his ear feeding him BS.

This whole CBS deal was bad for the sport IMHO

I am sorry, but I thought Kimbo was the one who said he'll fight “anyone, anywhere, at anytime.” You can't blame CBS or EliteXC for his 14 seconds loss to a mediocre fighter, who weigh 30lbs less than him. It wasn't like Seth Petruzelli got lucky or anything, he just straight up KO Kimbo and the big guy has nothing to say about it. In the end, the fighter makes the decision, and Kimbo made his. He lost and he lost badddd, the only way he can redeem himself is to comeback and beat better fighters. If he can't, then he's nothing but an internet farce.
