Ball Joint Woes....
So i call up every body from autozone, advanced, o'reilys, napa, infiniti, nissan parts usa....no one makes front lower ball joint for the control arm. Infiniti wants 280 bucks for a control arem and balljoint....that is atrociously stupid. Now I have to measure the taper on my ball joint and find a comparable one. I will not pay infiniti $560 bucks for ball joints....they are crazy if they think that...

I know how you feel and I believe you. What year is your Q ?
I have a set for 97-01 Q in good condition sitting in my garage for $125.00 Ea. if interested.
These are dealer only parts and try not to waste too much time looking for it.

That's how they sell 'em. Only available as complete lower arm, which is completely gay considering they're held in with a C clip like every other ball-joint in the world. So, the thing would be to get one, take it apart and find one that fits, then you'd be helping ALL Y33 Q owners out! I want to change mine, but haven't for the same reason, besides, mine aren't bad, I just like to know it's all new.

Same thing on the S13.. Rear LCA BJ's are only avaialble as complete new arms from Nissan. For S13 rear BJs, the B13 sentra front ball joints are very similar, and only $50 ea from Napa. Nissan cars from that time usually share suspension parts, I bet if you look around you'll find BJ's from another nissan/infinity that fit. Pull an arm/BJ from the junk yard and do some measurements... GL.

Don't wait too long though... like I did!
The lower control arm was laying on the floor and the ball was still in the knuckle. Like the inifiniti's the ball joint is sold one piece with the LCA. This was just THIS passed Wednesday.
Seems odd to me that I can get a replacement part for a Mazda 929 for $50 and Infiniti Q's are much more common. At least in my area!

I found some SPA suspension components on these site. I do not see any ball joints sold separate. Does SPA Sedan Pro Arm have a site?

I take it this didn't work. I need to replace the ball joints on this exact car. Don't really want to spend that much but I may have to. GAY!

I did both inner and outer tie rods when I did my suspension last weekend. I used replacement parts though, nothing upgraded like Tein etc etc...

I just ordered a used lower control arm from a local junk yard for $50 w/ ball joint. That's my fix for now...not the best, but at least this way I'll have a spare that I can take apart and look into finding a new replacement. Hopefully the used one will last a few thousand miles at the very least.

I think I'm just gonna track down s13 conversion parts. Found knuckles and lca's for $125 at a local yard and five lug front hubs for $140. May start this, then buy coilovers since I need to replace mine anyway.

I agree...this is probably the best way to go. I've heard concerns about the bearings not holding up, but I've been around S chassis cars since 96 and the bearings are good quality. I think they will hold up just fine and if not, it's not like it's a hard to come by or even expensive part to replace.
