how is living in hawaii?

guys, im coming to the end of my time in school and am looking for a job. now most of my searching has been in Florida (born and raised) but it has crossed my mind to look in hawaii. i was wondering about "island fever"? now ive been to Guam for 3-4 months at a time and i was fine but living there for years on end i dont know what kind of adverse affects that could instill. also i have 5 cars (listed in sig), would that be an issue? and lastly cost of living versus income, im in the auto customizing field and was wondering if the standard income in a field like that would be enough to support a small family. any input from hawaii natives would be greatly appreciated  :biggthumpup:

5 cars is too much. most places in town dont have garages for that, and street parking is either limited, shady, or both. unless u live out of town or in a nice place in the mountains or deep valley. dont know how much "auto customizing" pays down here but its probably not too much unless you are really good and established. personally i think hawaii is rough right now. my friends from florida sold their 4 bedroom house to come live in a tiny 2 bedroom, no kitchen for the same it was costing them to live comfortably back home. BUT they enjoy it cause they surf twice a day. i guess it depends on your lifestyle.

Hawai'i shouldn't be a place to consider with five cars, but like the previous poster said it depends on your lifestyle.  I would love to move back to O'ahu, but I can't stand how congested the place can get with those narrow roads.  Personally, I plan to stay in Florida just because I want a decent-sized driveway and build a garage large enough to compliment a lift.

yeah, im definitely moving back there in january. hopefully South Florida (Sarasota specifically)but orlando has more oppurtunities.:shrug:

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Sarasota is nowhere near South Florida. Hahahhahaha  Coincidentally, University of South Florida has a campus there, St. Petersburg, Lakeland, Downtown Tampa, with the main campus in Tampa.  Wtf?  Haha.

yeah, i cant believe Lakeland is considered south Florida (i lived in Florida for 20 years b4 i joined the military)
