Hyundai Genesis VIP?

I think it looks pretty good. I don't know why the "DUB" is in front. If done alittle bit more VIPish I think it looks pretty damn good.

Damn, it's got serious potential. I'm in the process of photoshopping a set of Ordens on one of these, I think a full face wheel will look a lot better than a five spoke.

You know, honestly I am pretty damn impressed with the line of cars Hyundai has now days, they have come a long way. And that Genesis is pretty tight. I can see this becoming a popular new VIP platform over time, the car certainly lends to it.

The die hard VIP fans would say EVERYTHING is "VIP Styled" unless it starts from the original VIP platforms (President, Celsior etc.) This car would obviously fall in that category and will NEVER be considered true VIP. Kind of retarded to think that way but that's the way it originated and people seem to want to stick to it.

Say you get a brand new LS460. You get some bis ass Asanti rims and an Asanti Grill with custom air suspension and change the interior to fur or something funky like that. Also slap on a custom bodykit by Five Axis. Now imagine the same car but you put on some big Leon Hardiritt Super Star wheels and a Junction Produce bodykit with the same air suspension. Now which one is VIP? They both have perfect original platforms but only 1 is "TRUE VIP" only because the way it was done up. Because of that reason I think VIP is ONLY a style and can't label it to only a handful of platforms. You could however have platform rules such as full size sedan with V6/I6+ engine and RWD. What makes it a VIP car would just be the way you fix it up.

there is always gonna be hall monitors saying this car isn't vip enough. lol @ that because the japanese manufacturers try to emulate the europeans, the vip still emulates the europeans. Now Korea has always emulated everyone but they fail because of it. blah, i'm a die hard toyota fan but hey if the quality is there in the genesis and equus at a lower price then people can do whatever they feel like doin and it'll look pretty good. it's still a luxury car at the end of the day. dead cow hide is in all of em.lol

I disagree with this. Most of the Japanese VIP cars are very "Japanese" looking. The Y33, Y34, F50, they don't look anything like a European car. The LS and GS don't look European either, maybe the LS was a little bland, but the new version looks nothing like the S-class or 7-series it competes with.

CamryVIP;373864 wrote: dead cow hide is in all of em.lol

Most of the Japanese VIP chassis cars come with cloth unless you choose leather. Leather is only insanely popular in the USA. I wanted to do my Q45 in cloth but I digress lol.

In any event, the Genesis is a sweet car, it definitely belongs in VIP when it's done like Pres' chop. I'd have no problem rocking one.

the second gen GS sure did come with a dual headlight setup just like an E-class did...

also as far as the influences in vip world, does the black pearl LS not have a AMG style front bumper? the same LS everyone loves.

i know that previously there use to be the whole pride with craftmanship involved with sewing which is why the original japanese lux barges had fabric interiors. but i didn't know they were still offering fabric as on option over there to this day.

go back to when the us japanese luxury market started. the ucf10 is very european, as that was what it was designed to compete with. the pre mc g50 was very original, but when that wasn't accepted well they went to a more traditonal front end that had more european influence. the y33 definitely has the look, and the ucf20 pre mc looks basically like the 10. only after 3 facelifts did they really come into their own. my opinion of course.

I'd agree with this. There has ALWAYS been a heavy European influence on Japanese car design and styling. There still is today, but as you stated, they've taken things in their own direction rather than borrowing styling cues from others as in the past.
