Speaking from experience...225 on a 9.5" is a nice stretch...if you want a MEAN stretch, rock a FK452 215...

well Im no purposely wanting stretch, I want the widest tire that I can safely stretch while clearing the fenders. If it was up to me, I'd want to have the the most meat in between the tire and the road.

Looks like you have a math equation on your hands...gotta find out how much the rim sticks out and approx the radius on the tire when stretched to measure how much the tire will tuck...it's not east...kinda have to eye ball and approximate...

235 35 19 would be ideal but I'm concerned that it may not clear.

I'm really pushing the limits on my car but if everything works out; it will be the baddest RL ka9 on the face of this earth.

Clear what??

The stretch makes it helps clear the sides......... 225 or 235. 30 or 35 gives it more thickness between the road and the wheel.

clear the fenders. I'm affraid 235 may be the extra width it to cause it to rub OR 225 maybe the magic number for it NOT to rub.

nevermind, I'll figure it out.

Re: 235 35 19 tires on a 9.5" width wheel

my gawd they really capitalized on the RL design.

the only thing I don't like is the wheel fitment, it would be nice if it had more lip all the way around especially when it is very capable of swallowing more lip wth proper sizing.

They may have chosen more conservative wheel specs in order the tuck the wheels into the fenders at that height.

Re: 235 35 19 tires on a 9.5" width wheel

Considering the weight of your car, do not go with 215s... you will not enjoy the lower load rating of such a small tire, and you will learn the meaning of "feeling every pothole in the road" as well as "when I hit that little dip, my tire compressed so much that the lip of the wheel actually cut the sidewall"....or do it if you want to experiment with extremes like me...I don't hear/see of many other Honda people in the US doing so, and it's always fun to learn something new about your car... or you can just heed the warning. :)

Re: 235 35 19 tires on a 9.5" width wheel

thanks again one ton,

I really don't want to do 215 35 19 or even 225 35 19.

I hope 235 35 19 or 225 40 19 will do the trick

I just wanna be the first to pull this off on a ka9 RL :) . I also want to prove all the nay sayers wrong and prove it in a big way.

I'm sick of how the wheel industry (here in the the USA) short changes their customers with their anorexic "safe and sound", "off the shelf" fittments, it's all a huge joke IMO.
