can a 300zx or j30 rear diff swap into a y33?

Ive been told from various sources that a rear diff of a 300zx or j30 will swap into my y33 for a smaller final drive, thus shorter gears....kinda.... is this true or false and has anyone done it yet? and what rpm is the engine at in final drive at like 80? and are there any modifications needed to do this?

thanks

Short answer: yes. Long answer: not unless you get the correct stub axles in the diffs... as the Z32s use a 6 bolt flange, and the J30s if I remember correctly, use a 5 bolt flange. The Y33s... hmmm, might actually be more akin, or even similar, to the Z32 actually...
