To bad the LED lights them selves are like 1K and that's not including that feature! :pat:

Whenever I decide to get off my lazy ass, I want to attempt to do this (LEDs) but then again I may jus buy some.....

those are pretty serious, and definitely be the toughest tail light mod. though, i'm putting my money on those not being so legal in the eyes of police officers. they may be amber-colored, but they way they move are similar to emergency vehicles.

not saying i wouldn't test that theory! +1 for anyone who does this mod.

that's a lot more than just bulbs. that sequential s**t put it on a whole different level. to do leds the right way isn't cheap. paying someone else to do them the right way = even less cheap. to pay someone to do sequential leds the right way... forget about it. if you can't diy this... i would forget about it.

i wouldn't have too much faith in pre-fab anything. most of the ones i've seen (taiwanese) use dropping resistors to dim. lots of ppl go this way and get away with it, but some don't. for the price they want it should definitely be pwm dimmed.

little patience on the custom projects. i've been designing a voltage regulated dual pwm, almost ready for prototype. it will work for the y33 as well as other cars with independant turn signals.

the sequential thing i probably won't ever do. adds a whole 'nother circuit and boderlines cheesey imo, although they look good in the posted example.

just so you know for car lighting applications you should be using lumiled superflux leds, not 3/5/10mm rounds. series resistors for strings is cool, but using them for dimming can lead to premature failure. this is not a $15 upgrade, assuming you do it the right way. you can probably pull it off for under $200 if you can diy.
