Need help with wiring up the dvd part of my doubledin.

Ok guys I just installed a Pioneer Double din in my 99 Y33.  The only problem im having is wiring up the DVD part.  It says to wire it to the parking brake wire but i would like to be able to play it with out having to engage the brake.  I was chating with EvilRB about it and he mentioned using the wire for the lighter possibly.  If I can get some help with this that would be awesome.  Ill post pics of the wiring tomorrow.

From my past encounters with the parking brake wire, on some systems, is it is just basicly a ground. Which is complete when the parking brake is enabled. Unless it says it needs a constant 12v source, I would try grounding it to anything.

Im not great with electronics so how would I go about grounding it to the wires from the lighter?

The wire that goes from the unit to the parking brake wire, just put a ring connector on the end and attatch it to a random screw that screws into a metal object.

That should do it. Then it has a constant ground, just like and audio amp.

post some more info for your wiring. did you use any bypass did you totall rewire the system.
