The top is a metal rail and the bottom is plastic.

I put the plastic on the top so it bends on mine

In the box its said the metal one suppose to be on the top and the plastic at the bottom. Also the metal should bend too when you put it on.

Place it where you want to mount them first, then slowly start on one side and start pushing up and dont bend them before you put them on. Thats how we do them.
