Theres like 3-4 videos on that car on youtube.  Sick car.  Something about driving low and flush on all 4 corners does it for me.
 
Props for anyone having the balls and deep pockets to drive that low in that car.  It aint cheap to break stuff on a 600.

Was planning on picking up a CL55.... But after hearing that thing, I think id almost rather settle for less reliability and less power and get the 600....

More power. Look at Dynos. They under rate the biturbo 600s to sell more 55's. They know people are going to buy 600's reguardless because of the status and the extra luxury features.

i wonder whats the lowest legal limit they have in japan?
lets say here in new zealand 100mm of the ground is legal, but anything lower than that needs to be certified, so basically u can be as low as possible but only if the car with deflated tires doesnt sit on on its chassis.and you have atleast 50mm suspension travel before hitting bumpstop.
mine is 80mm of the ground and already struggle going through some places and i want to go lower lol.
thing with new zealand is everywhere are hills lol.so steep driveways are like 70% of all houses lol.we've been looking for a house no for almost 6 months and no luck at all

I seen a few bone stock dynos from a 600 and the HP to the wheels was the same as the advertised HP at the crank.  Add a non restrictive exhaust and a chip and your in super car territory

The W220 has always been one of my dream cars. Especially in that same year, bodystyle, and color combination. But I am just not too sure on how realiable their motors or electrical system are. I want to buy another car next year. My choices right now are the Lexus GS, Lexus LS430, or the Mercedes S400,S500, or even the S600 if I can afford it. But as of now Im leaning more towards the Mercedes S-Class. Hopefully I dont make the wrong choice. Ive owned a BMW 850CSI in the past and I just loved the V12. The V12 on the 600 feels very similar.

He probably has a combo on adjustable links/lowering module to bring him to his current height.

ECU tuned 600s (only ECU tune) Dyno at around 520 whp!!!

That car is awesome. Vitt Super Widebody. If I had to bet money on it I would say he removed the fuse for the air compressors. It's pretty widely known by 220 guys that you can roll for a long time with the factory air all the way down. The ride is quiet comfortable. There was one at the dealership with the compressor broken that was sitting in the back. It was almost on the ground. I was like "I want that one in the back".  They thought I was crazy. Took it for a testdrive and it drove great! Then when I got back they wanted to charge me full price as if they WEREN'T trying to sell me a broken car. :pat:

OCKlasse is correct with the renntech ECU your tq alone is around 650 IIRC. I would absolutely love to own a car like that. There's a few things i'd've done differently but that guy has pretty much got it down :biggthumpup:

They're both viable options, pick whatever works. That 600 is sick regardless of suspension choice. The fact is, it rides dumped, which is absolutely awesome.

I have friends w/ air and w/ coils and I like them both! I have the money to do both so I chose air to satisfy my daily driving needs!

Hahaha...don't get me wrong..it's nice.  But it's not nearly the caliber of some of the other w220's I've seen.  What makes it cool for itself is the V12 and the ride height..but the wheels aren't my style and it's a little to normal looking to me otherwise.

The newer after mc headlights and tails tricked me into thinking it was the bi-turbo.  Sounds sick reguardless.
 
If we think our parts are expensive, try spending $12g's for a body kit with exhaust like most of the top Benz tuners charge

Yea it had me charged when I saw seen the head and Tail lights...then i saw the engine like :pat:

I felt like he jooked me:smiley-rofl:...but i still think that sh*t is great! Ride height on point, itjust looks like it's coasting. That sound is righteous.

03-07 S600...That's my future ride there *sigh*

the M120 V12s were a pain to work on, and the M137 V12s have this stupid seal that goes bad on the top of the engine that you have to damnnear take the whole engine apart to get to...

the M275 however is one of the most reliable V12s Mercedes ever produced...M275 is the Twin Turbo V12 =) I must have!

The M120 is a nightmare, but thats only if you leave it the way it is. There's a guy on benzworld that installed mustang 5.0 throttle bodies on the M120 and ran different engine management (in addition to address some of the other little problems with the motor) and he got like +60 hp and it runs all the time now.

More than half of them are also in Japan.  Open up some of the Vip Car and Vip Style mags and you'll see.  I just recently sold all my older mags, so I can't put up any scans.  But seriously the V12 and ride height are the only real stand outs with it to me.

Exactly..wheels make or break the car for me.  In this case they break it for me.  I also agree that some of them go over board with poorly thought out mods, but it's not all o fthem who do it.  Look for some of the W220's at the meets...not feature cars.  The featured ones usually are the overboard cars.  You'll see what I mean..

The 19" MAE wheels are gone, so is the sick fitment (replaced with 20" Brabus Monoblock VI). Exhaust is custom ([URL]http://minkara.carview.co.jp/userid/244312/car/228079/517701/note.aspx[/URL]), ride height is factory airbags with an ABC controller, lowering rods, ABC customized super stroke struts, custom arms and other fender/control arm mods.
 
Just noticed more work went into the exhaust here ([URL]http://minkara.carview.co.jp/userid/244312/blog/11138515/[/URL]) with plenty of vids to show the tuning he did to get the exhaust note just right

Dom, The ABC system is the factory Mercedes Hydraulic system more commonly found on the w215 CL class.  The S class typically runs the factory Air system call Airmatic(also found on some w211 E-class).

You say he is running Factory Air with ABC components??  I am just trying to understand as I believed he was on the Airmatic system.

I am in the market for a w215 and was going to replace the ABC system with custom S-class Airmatic struts using full stand-alone management.  I just cant read Japanese and can only see pictures.

Any additional info would be amazing.

He bought an ABC controler on Yahoo auctions, and said that the wiring diagrams and plugs were all the same except for one, so he put it on.

Huh... Interesting!! Well I will have to do my own experimentation when I get around to picking up a CL this year, I will see what the possibilities are with the ABC system there because the concensus around the Mercedes forums is it is too problematic as is to modify how I want.

i've heard that abc is generally more reliable than airmatic, as airmatic seals tend to leak or whatever.

s55, 600, and 65 also had the abc system, iirc. i've been researching, since i'm thinking of picking up a w220 s65 :)

So many horror stories about the pump system that is run off the power steering pump.  But Like I said, i know i will mess with the ABC before doing anything crazy!!
