hey guys, just like to share some pics of my camry. before i get flamed because i drive a camry, i live in Australia and we dont have that many true vip platforms here. Most are pretty old / dodgy imports so chose to settle with this camry for the moment, anyway enuf bullshit and on with the pics. *flame suit on*

the car is definitely not vip, but i would love to one day be able to do up a proper vip car, starts saving money now lol

- LX-Mode japan front lip
- 20" iForged Variant step lip 20x8 et 35 & 20x9.5 et 30
- D2 Coilover with camber top, rear camber maxed out at around 4 deg, front camber at 0 deg
- custom red leather seats
- painted black roof
- simple custom audio, alpine gears + 22" LG screen
- some jp stuff

Very nice.. I like the color... don't you guys have like glorias and cimas down under, or ls400's? Just curious. Judging by how you built your camry, if you did have a true platform, you would've done well with it....

"True" VIP or not, that car is properly well-executed.  No need to feel ashamed about it.

WOW! thx for the kind words guys, i have alot of plans for the car but not sure if its worth the money to continue on. Im actually contemplating on selling this and getting myself an RB1 odyssey (aussie ver is the JDM one). the problem is the new gen odyssey has been released in japan and i dont know which i like better. might have to wait to see what aftermarket parts are available for the new odyssey

thx man, i cant wait to get my hands on a real vip platform, although i dont really post much here, i have learnt alot from this forum. the tire stretching, wheel fitment etc on my car are heavily influenced by members' cars in this forum

yep2 we do have those cars, but theyre very2 rare, most are imports and pretty old with high mileage. I didnt want to risk having problems because i just hate spending money on fixing broken stuff, i'd rather spend money for parts :). 

btw just wanna say that im a huge fan of your work, i really2 like your latest LS, i think everything is perfect, are you still gonna sell it? also, props for doing everything yourself, i bet it feels awesome to be able to mod your car by yourself and having perfect results

the grill has always bothered me though

nice! seats are dope.. i think if you removed the toyota bubble on the grill, and just had the horizontal slats.. basically remove the emblem, and cut the bib off the top part of the grill making it even..

yea remove that and chrome the grill somehow. body color grill is just so plain, especially for a large grill like that. gives it too much of a sport look.

just snag an SE grill and mod it

Yeah i agree with you, 20x8 is definitely impossible to stretch, but i didnt have much choice cause iForged only offers 20x8 & 20x9.5 for step lip. I really wanted step lip so i just got the 20x8, hopefully i can get a better fitment wheels in the future, will keep learning from you folks here on vsc

pancakes, your car is one of my favorites here on vsc, its so well built. 

I dont really mind the grille, but that bulge is hideous, thinking of removing it

Yeah true mate, im thinking of doing it but might be major one cause you have to basically reconstruct the grille, if i do scratched or damaged the front bumper and need to respray it, then i'll probably do it then :)

yeah this camry really shouts the word sporty more than vip/exe style. i dont think altering the grille will do much to change its look, i think it needs new full bumper kit like jobdesign or mode perfume, but hey i highly doubt they'll consider making something for camry haha

as for platforms, i tend to agree there isnt many out there. i got a 98 GS300, and so far its been real nice smooth car and is a true platform. but now i look aroudn more and there is very little else to choose from anyway, apart from old grey import LS400s like you say

Yo Im digging your Camry too...you kept it clean I especially like the black roof yeah its sporty but that body style is on the sporty side so it compliments it very well...nicely done

only thing that bugs me a bit is the color, but i'm partial to red being on mainly sports cars/coupes :p

THX!! yes i would love to get airrunner for my car, but i really have a big dilemma with that because with the coilovers i have the camber top mount so i can nicely camber the rear and get the rear wheels flush and also ride low all the time, but if i changed that to Airrunner the - camber is gone, i dont know if i can live with that, maybe if i can get my hands on a proper camber kit for the camry then ill get the Airrunner :)

I actually have been thinking about that for quite a while, reading my monthly subscription of VIP Cars and VIPstyle really makes me want to colour code the lips, i think im a bit over of the polish lip, and not many here in Australia have coloured lips too!

We do have that car here in Australia too! its called the Aurion, funny how we have both JDM/US camry and asian camry lol, but yeah i actually reckon that JDM/USDM camry is better looking than the asian camry, and glad i chose this one cause the japanese slowly starts making aftermarket parts for this car, just like the front lip i have from LX-Mode

D2 isnt expensive here, its around AUD1200, ride is okay not too bad, a bit on the harsh side, just make sure its on the lowest position for the damper

Fitment is not perfect, first time trying to calculate the offset manually to get the wheels flush, but apparently i missed, i couldve gone 10mm less for the rear wheel offset to get the wheels flush and couldve gone wider than 8" for my front wheels, but yeah will definitely try to get the fitment better next time :).

Hahaha, over the weekend i shopped around for the RB1 Odyssey, i was set to sell the camry and get the ody, but was really broken hearted when they said honda japan has stopped producing the RB1!!!!!! I wanted a white one and theyve got NONE at all. So i guess i have to wait for the RB3 to come out then

If i had the RB1 I will most likely get that brostar kit, or WALD, both are very2 nice imo, oh and that black one is clean too, what kit is that? Noblesse yeah?
