Ls400 Bumper Light Help

hey guys i have a 94 Ls400

what i want to do is be able to turn on my front signal lights with a switch that would be in my car but still have them function as turn signals whether or not i have them switched on or not 

anyone good with electrical stuff that could help me with this?

Do you want them to flash as well with the aftermarket switch?  Or do you want them to just light up solid with the aftermarket switch?  There's a few ways to go about it.. just PM me if you need any advice other than this... Can just wire the aftermarket switch with a wire leading from 12volts into the switch (fused w/ 10 amp).  and the other end of the switch just diode it off with two wires, and connect to each turn signal wire of the car.

put a led or something of the same color into the housing and wire it in with constant power kinda like DRL's and when your flasher normally flashes itll look like it should normaly  then when your flasher is off itll be on still.

or

i dont know what bulb it is but if there is a dual filament version you can use with pigtail and what not then wire it in again ( pretty much like a normal dual filament brake light bulb)

you pretty much want to set up like a brake light bulb circuit

no all i want them to do with the switch is turn on and off but whether or not i have them on or not i still want them to blink when u put the turn signal on and what not.

those are two really good ideas. i think im going to go with the first one because the bulb is a single filament bulb. wiring it up like the break light bulbs would be perfect for what i want to do but im thinking that adding other led lights to the housing would be a more straight forward solution.

wow i didnt relized its been this long, being an architecture major is leaving me no time for the car. 
 
but now im actually doing this mod now, i ordered some dual filement led bulbs and i bought a rear break light harness so im going to take two of the sockets from it and wire them up to the bumper signal light. 
 
im going to wire it up to the signal normaly take the 3rd wire that poweres the 2nd filement and conect it ot my running lights.
 
would this work? i no in the break light when u apply the breaks the running light lifement turns off and the break light fillement turns on. but this wont happen if i wire the front up like i was thinking. so now i wonder if it will work, or it will just blow the bulb or fuses.

if your not too far into it there is an easier way.
 
instead of hacking out the harnesses and running new wires and/or whatever else you might have to do to switch to a dual filament bulb....
 
depending on where the flasher for the blinkers is located im thinking that i would just tag onto the output wire off that flasher (rather than tap into the wire at the housing outside). might need to ad a diode to keep it from backfeeding into the flasher (not sure never tried before).
basically throw a wire from your power source, through a switch, and onto the wire that feeds your blinker circut. but you have to go after the flasher unless u want the light to flash (then u just use your hazard switch).
 
now u get to pick out your switch style. you can have simple on and off... or you can do a push button (like a valet switch on an alarm). one witha  lighted indicator and one without. or if your a baller you can have it function on a latched output off your nice alarm system.
then choose your power source.. an ignition source will only allow the lights to function when your in the car with ignition on but a constant source will let u be a mall parking lot champion! dont forget to fuse all your power sources.
 
i really wouldnt wanna cut and or try to ad any extra connections outside of the car. especially if you drive in the rain (it rains in portland A LOT i cant have my customers coming back with problems.)

im not sure if i understand that 100%. i should take my power wire (that will power the light constantly like a my running lights) and just splice open the power wire to the blinker and just conect it? and then have that run to a swich inside the car?

the only extra wire i would actually have to run is the 2nd power wire in the dual filiment socket and run it to the runing light which is right next to the signal

find the signal power wire and tap into that. if its easier for to find it at the signal then so be it. 
what im saying is u dont have to install the dual fillament socket u can use the single one that the car came with. to turn it on u simply apply power to the wire that would normally power it.
it doesnt get much simpler than that. well actually it does.. but the other way is really ghetto and involves removing the flasher can.
