2jz in gs300

my friend wants to swap a 2jzgte into his 99gs....any one out there got some good info or site that we can do some research??

there is a build thread on cl, I'll link it when I get home. It's acually simple as far as swaps go. 4 wires swap, fuel return line, upgraded fuel pump, aristo driveshaft, ecu, all the gte accessories bolt in, clip in etc. you HAVE to use a 98+ vvti motor though.

This is the first REAL write-up of a vvti gte->gs300 (98-00, and some early 01 depending on the harness)
 
Basically everything you need to know. I suggest asking the OP questions if you have them, he's really helpful and willing to ask questions when he's on.

you don't have to use the vvti motor but it's the motor that was ment for that car everything bolts and clips right in

ok thanks man...found some stuff about it...looks pretty easy...just gotta find a motor now..

Don't cut corners, and follow that guy's thread, probably the easiest way to go about it, if you want that guy said he could source a motor for me when I was inquiring about it, see if you can get a hold of him on club lexus.

Read the thread on CL. It's like 4 wires, and you swap them on an ecu plug.

any one know where a good place to source a 1jz/2jz motor???

Ask that guy on Club Lexus that I linked his thread from. He said he can source them, other than that, you have to find a shop that knows what they are doing...so you don't get ripped off. 

You need the complete motor, all the sensors, wiring harness, driveshaft, trans, ecu, and I think the rear differential, not sure about the rear diff.
