Photoshop request

I know I'm probably going to get alot of flack for this, but I've been real curious for a while. I've been checking out the dimensions of the 99+ Ford Windstar and the RA6 Odyssey and noticed that they are quite similar (give or take an inch IIRC).

At anyrate, with that in mind, I was wondering if someone could do this for me:

In possible, could someone do a version with the factory headlights and then a version with the RA6 headlights?

im not gonna give u "flack" for this. its great to step outside of the box.

but to be honest, its not even gonna be worth it. itll cost too much for what will be done.

youd be better off just picking up the ody. and startin from there. u can find them for $3000 easy.

I appreciate the honesty and in most ways I would agree with you. From a financial standpoint, the Odyssey, even the older ones are still worth more than the Windstar/Freestar lineup (given similar mileage and options). That said, the resale would be better with the Ody.

The only problem, at least where I'm at, is that its very hard to find a JDM van. Occassionally there might be a previa for sale (which I really want as well but the wife hates the look) but people have been asking 3.5-5k and it typically has over 200k. Odysseys are very rare up here, except the Lagreat and those tend to be a dime a dozen as well, and the older Siennas are pretty much nonexistant.

Its not a definite idea as to whether or not I'd even work on the Windstar. Just might continue to hold off until I can find either an ody or Previa locally, but I've always been interesting in seeing what a 'domestic' would look like done properly. Somewhat like the Wald Caravan/Voyager.


PS. That looks likes Ron's Odyssey. If I lived out that way, I'd try to get my hands on it.

never thought about the popularity of the vans in your region, i thought they were abundant everywhere.

I couldn't agree more. Out here, its mostly domestics. From what I gather, people love the older Caravans and Chrylser town-n-country, mostly for the awd capabilities in the harsh weather we get. Either that or SUVs galore (mostly ford and chevy). I've thought of dropping a toyota motor into our van namely for the sake of toyota reliability over ford/dodge/or chevy, but I am sure it would be more hassle than its worth. So I am simply working with what's in the region. Regardless, if I was to follow through with modding the windstar (have a few ideas ranging from the 4.6 in the Continental to the 3.0 duratec mated to the 5-speed from the SVT contour) it would definitely stand out amidst a sea of DUB-styled SUVs (and even then its mostly Escalades and Expeditions).

From what I can tell, it wouldn't look too bad, though the headlights look a little 'off' compared to the RA6 with eyebrows.

Yeah, I am going to do another one with the RA6 headlights later on today.

I dont like it! Spend the money that you would to have that kit custom molded on there on driving a couple hundred miles and pick up a proper mini van! Just my 2 cents

The biggest problem I see with the Windstar, is the beam rear suspension.  Not exactly the best when considering VIP-styling.  It becomes an issue when trying to lower the vehicle.  Also, the sliding rear doors aren't nearly as cool as convenient as the standard opening doors in the rear of the Odyssey.
