Test fit on my KA9 RL

Well, I have been faily quiet lately and I wanted to share the ongoing project I call my car so here are the some test fitting pictures.  Sorry for the cell phone pictures but I was at work while doing this.

The wheel is 9.5 +38

Nice teasers...they look like theyre gonna be on point though as far as fitment goes cant wait to really see them...

Can't wait to see it!  Love the aggressive fitments on Honda/Acuras because many of them rarely push the limits.

Shit, I will be driving just as low.  If I have to modify to make it ride as low as I like then I will.

And once I get the car together I will post pictures.  Trust me, the wheels are nothing spectacular.  But I love them and that's all that matters.  ;)

 i dont want to thread jack opsi here.  but you guys should be more active on cardomain.... ive got tons of pics on there.  im a honda fan 1st and a vip enthusiast 2nd. this site let me down early on for its lack of respect toward honda fans. right now id kinda rather just be a respectful viewing member over having to defined my ride and mod choices to some arrogant prick on a vip bandwagon. =)

Yeah, they should fit just how I want when we finish with it.  I have a feeling Max won't like it though.  I had 10's on the rear at one point and he said that they weren't "needed", so I am thinking 9.5's on the front may get the same reaction.

I wasn't in anyway talking bad about his choices or him.  Just stating his previous reaction.  And I hope he pushes the limits a little more too.  He has a good looking car.

No way!  I will be running 9.5 +38.  I had 10 +40 on it at one time with no issues.  You won't have any problems with the 9 +30

opsi, im sorry for getting this thread off track ,my ride should not be on here, this is your build thread. i know its all just a waiting game for you at this point, but man its time to get this project together, they starting to get crazy with this car now.

love it or hate it .....this is extreme for a front wheel drive car.

hellllllllllzzz yes!  Love LM-9 as well.  Affordable and quality two piece wheel.

No worries, man.  I personally don't like the fitment in the rear.  Inever really liked the -45 degrees camber thing.  But my suspension will be here in about 30 days I have been told.  We will see though.  This has been a  long ass 4 months!

Coils finally made it state side!  I am aiming for a month and we should be in business!  Man this has been a long ass wait!

It's a company called Fortune Auto.  A friend of mine is a rep for them and he helped me out since finding suspension parts for my car isn't the easiest.  It's only a temporary solution for a few so that I can try to finish up my air setup that I had to put on hold due to money issues seeing as I am totally commission based.  haha

Well, I was told yesterday that my coils should be here this coming week.  He will have a hold of them Monday or Tuesdaythen he will be delivering them by the end of the week so hopefully I will be installing next week!  Cross your fingers for me, it's been a long wait!

Looks good.  I have been considering an aero package but I drive my car everyday and I can't see myself dropping $4,000 on it only to mess it up.  But I want it pretty badly!  haha

Ok, should have the coils Sunday so next week should be install time.  May need to do a little more fender processing to tighten things up but we should be good to go.

Alright, coils are at work and my upper mounts have been modified to fit the new suspension.  Tomorrow is install day.  Doubt the wheels will go on tomorrow but we will see.

I couldn't give away my Anceltion KA9 coilovers when I had them up for sale.  I shoulda just kept them and got another Ka9 ha

Yeah, the coils weren't exactly for the KA9.  But everything is good now.  The coils and wheels are on the car.  It still needs an alignment and a tad bit of fender work in the rear but I will post some pictures Sunday hopefully.  A friend of mine and I are going to shoot it then.

i have to say that that picture of the wheel with the broken look is plain stupid. :pat: theres a fine line between keeping it clean and smooth and then just broken. That sir is a broken look. Im sure it takes alot of skill to achieve but damn. i would be angry :saiyancrunks:

 cool....... im glad you call me sir.  i never said i partically like that style myself. i hate mesh wheels and step lips off top anyway. i like how low it sits without a kit.  something that i didnt expect you to know much about, being you once asked us on a thread ''if you should go lower?  im from the dirty south . we have been welding and airbagging shit before the vip scene was even started. i respect extreme stance and offset on a car that most did not choose because of this being harder to acheive on a front wheel drive. you never know, the owner of that car may look at yours and think traditional style is played , i want to push limits for the ka9 fans out here in japan. its all just point of view.

In all honesty man it's nothing too special.  It sit a little higher off the ground than I would like but that was the chance I took with the 20" wheels and no aero.  Again, I will try to get some pictures up tonight.  :)

im finding it hella rare to find coilovers for my 99 ka9 is there a chance i could usse coilovers off a tsx or tl or should i just do air.....welll i figure this is a ka9 thread so you guys would know thanks ..

yes ..you can use tsx coilovers thats what im using

tsx works?? nice!! even the top mount is the same?

The TSX coils will work as well as the 98-02 Accord but you will need to use your factory upper mounts.  The RL has a unique upper mount that no other Honda shares..

I thought it was the 03 and up accord models that also work..correct me if im wrong?

I would have to physically see the struts but I think they will work as well.  I know that the 98-02 will though.

but overall i hear people choosing the tsx coils over the accord i saw some mean coilovers by tein suspesion made for tsx 03 up i might pick them up soon for my 99 ka9

Anyone who knows me in person knows im a nice guy. I dont mean to make you upset. Things must be slower paced in the South, thats why people are always fighting down there. I too have folders of RL pics and have pics of your car too! Btw, when i asked if i should go lower, i was being sarchastic. haha. Thats the problem with typing online. For example when you type in CAPS its like somone is mad. lol. 

In terms of being excited? always anytime theres some fresh pics.

 alright ,since your taking the calm approach, so will i.  you've known me from the start, i stuck up for you in your first post from acura-legend when you where getting bashed on, then somewhere along the line i just started to see you hating on anybody else that did something other than your taste. keep somethings to yourself man. or altleast find a way to put it more constructive than you do.
 example: if that rl with the ''broken'' looked pulled next to you and a hot asian chick stepped out of it.  would you tell her to her face, her car looks broken and she crossed the line.  if not then try not to bash it on here. thats all im saying.  it comes from the area that started the style you now like. 
 respect is earned not given. if you are a nice guy offline then it should reflect online to bro. 
 you are right about the south fighting, luckly i made it out of there by staying away from that mess and playing with cars my whole life.

 lets move on from this misunderstanding and see just how much we can show future ka9owners what we know.

Max is a cool guy in real life.  His sarcasm is difficult to read online which makes it even funnier to those that know him.  Calling a car broken isn't nice but it is what it is.  The white RL does look that way.  Many members on here have heard that about their cars but it is expected when you go crazy with the negative camber.  It is not for everyone nor is it the only way to achieve vip style.
 
I'm glad you guys handled this like adults.  If there is anything else that needs to be said to one an other, keep it on pm's.  Lets not take away from this build thread.

I like the wheels, but understand what you mean by the rims not matching the clean look for the car, guess too much spokes...

Respect to Aftermathacura and Max for gettin that squashed real quick...

I agree with Aftermath though, real strong criticism shouldn't be coming from fam. Keep it constructive on a chassis that's trying to get some burn in the first place.

finally someone else who sees what i see in this one.  any ''real'' hardcore ka9 owner can see that this one looks to have the lowest stance on the scene yet. isnt stance one of the main fundamentals of the vip style? so why hate ?  thats why i said i would like to check it out.  i would really like to see the suspension work at a closer look. or at least know what has it sitting like that.
 the second i viewed it,  i noticed where the side skirt sat and pictured how a more aggresive side skirt would kiss the ground at this stance.
 all bullshit aside......these vip platform rules , does and dont's of the vip style seem really stupid to me. i do all my own work to my ride, ive never been to japan , so i dont see the need to jock the style completely or follow any of the rules, i just take a few things from it and mix it with what i already know.  to me its all about going low with a nice kit touching the ground whenever possible.  same mentality i had since 92' when i built my first minitruck.

I wonder how they modified the suspension. did he elongate the lower front A-Arm or did he shorten the top A-Arm.... the rear...definitely chopped the top inkage, but by how much...
