What's the total? Is it over 1 million yet? Some people still think there isn't a recession.

Does anyone feel that this "stimulus" is going to help with the economy?

It all needs to happen... There are way too many unskilled Americans getting paid way too much. The economy over built itself, and now needs to restructure back to where it should be. Its not pleasant to go through but it is needed.

If people spent money jobs would still be out there. People are spending less and less. If you ain't spending why does someone need to be hired to sell you? People don't realize that the more they listen to their broke friends who tell them to save every penny, the worse the economy gets. If they want to get out this recession they should force people to take an economics class every few years.lol supply and demand is a very simple yet powerful thing.

here is what the problem is.. the US govt should not have bailed out the banks.. what they should have done is paid off our mortgages that way we have our money saved and than we could spend our money on stuff and at the malls...and might have help keep some jobs. this way the money flow would be there. the way they did this whole crap of giving money to big people who are the main cause of this whole depression. i mean the fact that they cant even track on what these big bank CEO'S spent on is just ridiculous.. so.. instead of make a building from the bottom these guys are making it from the top(if that makes sense)..

That's just as smart as bailing out the banks. Giving people a free handout, who took a loan they couldn't pay, and were riding the wave of credit. Why? If you can't afford your mortgage, maybe you should have thought more before you signed away your life.

I agree with caoboy. People who didn't know what they were doing and just signed their lifes away shouldn't get a handout from the government. They should get a kick in the ass for not edumacating themselves about what they were doing before trusting a loan officer or broker. Some of the fuckers even knew they were lying on their loan applications and now they wanna act surprised.

Economy is in a down turn...it happens, and we just have to ride it out. I have always said that these bailouts will not work, as it's a bandaid on a broken bone. Recessions are a way of cleaning out excess, and it's natural, not something we can stop. Just ride it out and hope for the best. People think it'll break the country...it's only going to get worse pumping more money into it that doesn't work....1.4 trillion dollars that we are footing the bill for...and we don't even get to vote on if we want it or not....
