I'm Baaaaaaaaaaack....

Well, after a 4 year hiatus from the VIP world (since I drove a 550hp sti and a Honda Fit turbo), I am now back.  I went astray but I finally got rid of all the junk and I got myself a 2009 Merc Benz S350L and this should be a very nice platform to go Euro VIP.  I paid USD190,000 for the car (car tax here is NUTZ!) and I am still waiting for the license and plates before I can take out the car.  Here's some stock pics, but you know it won't be long....Can you spot the Toyota Alphard in the background with the Wald wheels and project mu brakes? ;)

Yeah, we pay 75% car tax for any engine over 3.0L and they look at the brand as well, and top brands like merc and bmw must pay higher tax.  That's why I had to fork out so much money for this....

Over here, the S550 is badged as S500 (same 5.5L engine though) and it costs almost usd300k.  Anyway, with our congested traffic and almost non-existent highways here, it's pretty pointless to drive big engine cars.

Also...as for suggestions....I think Wald makes a very nice kit...really aggressive, but it goes with the car IMO.

Thanks for the warm welcome, guys.  It definitely has been a while.  I still lurk here to see what you guys are up to, but I don't really make any post anymore.  

Anyway, I am looking to add either the brabus kit or the Wald kit with some 22" Iforged or HREs.  The new Lowenharts are very nice as well with chrome spokes and black barrels.  Total gangsta.

Whatever, we'll see.  I just forked out so much cash for this car, my wallet needs to breathe a little bit before I do anything major to this car.

Not here, buddy.  For $200k, you can only get an S350, an LS460 (looks like a camry and which has total crap resale value, since Lexus absolutely has no representation in Indonesia), a BMW 735Li (also total crap resale value), a skyline GTR (with 2 kids, NO THANKS!), a Hummer H2 (err...no thanks) and a used Modena 360 (again, I got 2 kids).  

At least the S350 is brand new, will hold its resale value far into the future and there's nothing on the road that looks like it.  It definitely is a looker.  :)

Just to give a rough idea, a Bentley conti GT is $450k, a new M5 is $210k, an M6 is $275k, a ferrari F430 is $450k.  A 1998 GS300 (aristo) is $20k!!!!  We got shafted here.....

In Asia (yes even in Japan), the brand Mercedes still carries a much higher value than any of the Japanese brands, including lexus. For example, a 2005 LS430 cost around $150k back in 2005 and is now worth under $40k. A 2005 S500 mercedes cost around $190k as well back in 2005 and is now still worth around $100k, maybe more. It's a "german" thing....

The Renntech will allow me to drop another 3cm but then again the 21s will rub on the fenders even though they are rolled....I don't really want to do too much work....At this height, it looks decent.  And hopefully when I do the full AMG facelift next year, it will look even lower.

Yea for sure this car needs a kit.   Ill be anxious to see it with the AMG facelift.  Either that, or lowering it another inch.
