LEAKIN AIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

got 235's on a 9.5 rim and i find that i always had to check everyday for tire pressure...and everyday, have to put in about 20psi to make 40. well today i got a flat on the freeway after checking the tires for nails and side wall issues last night. does anyone have these issues w/ stretched tires? my rear tires are also stretched even more aggressively but never leaked!  any ideas?

could be a bad valve stem too.

i had that problem too... until i found out the installer did not take out a little thin sticker at the corner sidewall.

Ive had that happen before. The tire installer didnt clean the wheel bead good. It was a used wheel and had a lot of grime on the bead.

my 245/35 on 10 bleed out about 5psi or so over about 2-3weeks, 235/35 on 9 hold 40 fine.

spray some soap water on there and see if there is bubbles. i had a bad valve stem gasket that leaked out 20psi each night. i say check that.

This man knows what he is talking about.

sprayed the whole wheel/tire with soapy water where possible leaks would be and nothing. would constantly trying to pull the steering wheel to the left and the car pulling to the right cause a leak? constant strain on a stretched tire?

as others suggested, the valve stem, make sure that the internals are even there. lol. i had some bent rims, and the wheel repair people forgot to put the stem internals back on, and could not get the stretched tires to hold air. lol. i ended up catching it when i put them in the trunk. 

what do you mean pulling to the side? if your suspension is altered, and as you hit divets in the road, it will cause your car to pull to the sides/bumpsteer, especially noticeable when even tire pressures. or do you mean in a still position and turning the wheels left/ right?

no, my front passenger tension arm is shot which throws off caster and while driving, making the car pull to the right. to counter the pulling on the right , i have to turn the steering wheel to the left just to make it drive straight. can this constant strain on the right front tire wanting to turn right but getting pulled to the left cause an air leak? remember the tire is stretched. hope this helps describing the issue.

are your wheels 2/3pc. were they brand new when you got them? maybe the rim needs to be resealed where the barrels meet. and actually, what you mentioned about your shot traction rod and needing to drive with the steering wheel adjusted accordingly, may be an issue. i remember when i had my 19's, was going to throw on the new 18 to the front and change the oil at the same time, i spent all my time with the darn filter, so i only had time to put 1 rim on in the front, drove it at approximately 40-50mph for 15miles or so, and the next day the tire was flat. the steering was horrible due to 1 18 on the passenger, and 19's on the rest.
soooo.... since you know your traction arm is bad, why dont you just replace that piece first. and get yourself a new alignment.

Just what Charley240 said, it might be the rim. I just had my two passenger wheels resealed, cause it was keaking from the bolts that hold the barell together.

i have 235/35 on a 10 and I leak about 10psi over the course of a month. Not bad if you ask me

Clean the bead and use bead sealer and it will be golden...

replaced the tension arms w/ s13 ones and of course, the caster's to spec and the car doesnt pull to the right. i got new front tires and no leak! maybe the constant strain of pulling the car to the left when it wants to go right cause small air leaks that eventually flattened the tire. this is the best conclusion since i tested the wheels under 50 psi in a dunk tank...no bubbles. thanks for the help fellas
