Hey does this stand on it own or fasten to anything?

if its the one i was looking at in daiei, then it has a clip on the bottom that slides under the carpet to hold it in place. they did have 2 versions though. im sure mike will chime in soon.

^^correct.  It has a clip underneath to secure it to the carpet.  They had two color options that I remember, but I usually only cam across this one.
