M45 suspension question

I have decided on the 03 M45 and i am trying to get my suspension sourced out. There aren"t any that i have seen for the 2003-2004 model. My search started out in the direction of air. But i ran into the problem of not being able to find aftermarket shocks for the UAS setup. Then i find the easystreet air suspension(I love their auto pilot air management system) which is a bolt on air strut setup. Again, no specific application for my vehicle...
If i can find a suspension that is interchangeable it would make this a lot easier. May have to go with Tein coilovers, but i would definately prefer air. someone help me out!

Good luck on that. I can't find many setup for my M45. I end up get the lowering spring. I will get coilover eventually.

Thats the joy of the 03/04 M45 and 02+ Q45.  Suspension is a pain in the ass.  I could have sworn Air Runner had an application for your M45 but its not listed on their site.  You may want to contact them or a vendor here.

Do not, I repeat DO NOT waste your money on anything Tein if you are planning on riding slammed.  Their spring rates are way, way too soft.   How much are you looking to spend?
 
They're are several vendors here on the site that can help you spend your money wisely.

Looks like i will be going with the JIC FLA-TAR coilovers. Gonna cost a grip, but you get what you pay for.

Keep me posted on that. I have the 03-04 M and you are correct... almost nothing for this car. I got lucky with my setup (eibachs) I'd love to go coilovers, but with the core swap of the front end spindles and the $2200 price tag.... I'll pass. Good luck on the setup.

Im not sure i understand the "core swap" mentioned... Does that mean you send in your factory spindles when you put these on and get money back(like buying parts from O'Reilly)?
Actolex- I will keep that in mind. I really love the idea of air, but i am not sure how practical it will be for a daily. Im gonna see what these coilovers will set me back, then reevaluate the situation.

There are quite of few coilovers setups offered like buddy club, insurance, and algernon just to name a few.  But they be more expensive.   But worth every penny.  Got to do it right the first time.

Personally, I'm not big on air.

I agree that you get what you pay for and I have every intention of doing it right the first time. I have firmly grasped the idea of quality of parts over quantity of parts and plan to show it in this build. I have always been impressed by JIC products and after seeing them I know the quality is top notch. I couldn't justify spending the JIC money on my Integras, but I know this car deserves it. With that said, don't expect to see any crazy progress. It is gonna be a long process after wheels and suspension which should both be ordered asap. Stay tuned!

Yes.. I believe so. Just as I stated in that link in my earlier post. The swap process takes damn near 2 months:runcoold:, but all this stuff comes from Japan. I spoke with Mike at JIC a while back and he was aware of the Gloria\Cedric vs the US Y34's spring rates, so no need to sweat the spring rate. He was strictly quoting me info on the US 03/04 M's, so.... it sounds good, but... $$$$$ and lots of time waiting on the product plus the installation.

As for these coil-overs you mentioned....if you can find a link that is dedicated to the US spec Y34 aka 03-04 M45... then HOLLA! =)

why does it matter?^^ there is a 50lb difference.. not like 500lbs.. use the same setup as the cedric.gloria v6t

Well... the whole idea it to purchase what is suited for the car and if the mfg (JIC) has exactly what is needed for the US spec Y34 aka 03-04 M..... then that is the way to go. Im just saying............:shrug:  Do it right the first time, right?

actolex:  how was the ride with UAS on stock struts?

Are the fronts struts the same on 03/04 M45 as my 02 Q45?

the chassis code for the USDM M45 is Y34 and all coilover/air setups designed for the y34 in japan will work for the USDM Y34.

Looks like the JICs are gonna run me roughly $3Gs with air shipping(7-10 days to my door) and the $600 core charge for the spindles...

honestly most of the other brands I've mentioned are gonna be in that price range especially with the dollar being real weak right now in our recession.

I wanted to do a y34 myself but, it won't be happening for me for a hot minute.

oh and make sure your spring rates are at least 8k front and rear. Personally I would prefer 14k front and 10K rear but that's just me. also Vlusty jewel makes a set for the y34 I believe.
