Show Displays????

Hey, 

I just wanted to get the consensus on what most of the VIP guys are doing for a show display. I know there some crazy displays in the tuning scene but since VIP isnt that mainstream right now what do you guys typically display with?

nothing the car is the main point?

rope/chain barricade?

red/black carpet?


Ive been looking around for crowd control barriers but they are a grip. Beltrak and the like are running $100+ and with our cars being so big it takes at least 6 to block off the car.

any opinions/ suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I actually like the idea of Vip set up , Most car shows give you hella props for a set up esp for the lowlow scene ... 
 
I wasnt able to set up a display with my current sponcer , but if I could I would be using black velvet ropes and the red carpet, It makes since and having a flag there too repping your biggest company you have bought from

I think most of the VIP builds are tight enough to not need a display. When I think of display I think of cotton spread around like the car is on a cloud or some dumb shit like that. You know what I mean? The kind of stuff thats like "oh shit I don't think our car is competitive enough, quick stick some cotton around it so it looks like its on a cloud!"

I remember one show where a guy with a M3 had a biiiiig crack on his front bumper and he stuck a teddy bear under it so it looked like he had hit it, it was 'cute' and definitely saved face for him (he got 1st place bmw) but again it was a display cause he HAD to.

I think  that the thick velvet ropes detract too much from the car but if you went to a fabric store and bought some of the not-so-thick rope and put it on some poles that would look nice.

If all else fails use the golden standard.... hot asian girls. If they are handing out free stuff thats a bonus. The blunt booth at the dub show was handing out free blunts (without carding people??) and that was the only display I remember. They didn't even show a car!

Caboy: the idea is cool id do it but moneys tight right now because of the economy and i dont think that would be appropriate at a family venue. lol

But Im going to a charity car show the begining of next month and they have this requirement for ropes for crowd control. so it made me start thinking do other guys do this?

it kind of make sense you dont want people all in you ish. but like you said it detracts from the car partly too. 

the vip scene isnt to big out here in the east so its not understood very well. 

i ended up makin this display sign so people would actually see that things are done to the car. lol since most of our  mods are subtle.
