"Sporty" VIP platform cars

I havn't seen very many examples of this style on PLATFORM cars, if it exists.

Anyone have pics to share/ style cues?

sporty is huge in japan right now. jzs and y50 would be the usdm cars that could pull it off well imo.

Aristos are pretty sporty including the jzs 161, and i think the Crown Athlete. And also the Cedric/Gloria from the nissan camp. All are true vip platforms but are also sport sedans compared to the other platforms ie. President, Celisor etc

Kinda the route I'm going for...we'll see if I ever get to the point that the guy took his Aristo, 575hp is quite the hp goal...

I personally like the idea of a sporty VIP car; the Germans ie. BMW are the only ones to consistently make manual transmission luxury saloons, and I wish they were more popular in the japanese market.

Over on NICOclub the first 5speed Q45 was built with a 300zx tranny and custom adapter plate. Seen a couple videos, sounds friggin awesome. Would be my dream project.

Anyone else have opinions on the sporty VIP route?

I'm going sporty VIP right now on my Cedric. Already have my cone air filter and HKS SSQV equipped, next is the boost gauge and controller, front mount, injectors, S13/S14 coils (which will also take airbags) Then comes the bigger turbo.

Of course, that's all after I get my money. Still it's awesome to see the look on people's faces when this big sedan flies past and then thy hear that BOV. Move over Aristo! More luxosport is on the way!

Luxosport!!! I like it!

Look forward to seeing your Cedric build. Alas, my engine is NA, but still produces quite alot of power, 280 hp. Could squeeze a few more out of an exhaust and ECU tune, but there's not alot of a/m support for the engine.

One guy on NICO did a rear mount turbo setup...awesome! For pretty reasonable $$ too...

A few people have classified my GS as VIP but I never really considered it this.

It doesn't really fit into a clear category.

I have go fast/turn fast parts: TRD chassis braces, Daizen sway bars, H&R coilovers, SRT intake & ECU, TRD thermostat, 355mm StopTech brakes, etc.

Low & slow is cool... sometimes.

Seen this car in person at the NWN GG meet this year. Love everything about it except the wheels. I mean they're good wheels, but just don't think they flow well, being only 18's, not aggressive enough, bronze, and too sporty. Overall still looks good though.
