Buddy of mine was telling me about this businesses venture that could turn good money after a few years but after he showed me the whole deal I got wary of the idea of "recruiting others" to spread the business.

This has Pyramid Scheme written all over it. MLM Pyramid same thing in my opinion.

Thoughts?

they sell phone service
video phones
cell phone plans
and now direct tv

I have family that's in it and they've been trying to get me to go to it. It really is just a pyramid no matter how much they try to deny it. But yah, they specialize in communications rather than insurance.

Making money off of others' failures.

I'll tell you that I have a friend that does this, he didn't seem like the motivated type when we worked together.... I work a job that can pay very close to 6 figures if you're motivated..  Anyway, he's been doing it for just over 2 yrs, something about this lit a fire under his arse. He tried to get me involved because he knows how I work, this is just not my sort of thing. He recently showed me a bonus check of his, the first substantial one in fact; and it was for 12k for one month.. This is awesome if he can keep it up...  I don't do this so I have nothing to benefit by saying so....

multi level marketing will thrive in our bad economy.  poeple get laid off all the time and it doesnt cost much to get into.  they got a lot of free time so they can be out there pushing it.  but dont expect your friends to want to hang out with you anymore.  whenever you call or come by theyll be like "here we go again".

I remember NTC and they were selling some telephone crap....and then I remember 2by2.net or something...another bullshit..  and now this. 

From what I saw they encourage people to get their family into it since they would be the easiest to turn and follow you.   Then go for your friends...and so on and so on.     

I remember being bothered by some friends and even my brother to join...anyways they all went under.

these people recruit a lot on college campuses. a friend of mine tried to get me into it, and i could tell by the meetings where the flaunt other people's bonus checks and try to motivate you with ghey 80's music that it was a MLM scam.

college because students usually they are short on money and looking for quick cash...also abit nieve

with the job market these days getting a job out of college looks like shit.   The starting pay is like 35K which is bare minimum to live semi decently.   Well atleast here in SoCal.    

I've put out job classifieds and get too many over qualified college grads looking for a serving jobs.

Yeah no doubt in my mind it's just a means to stay on top while other's under you either fail or give you all their money.

I wish'd my buddy good luck but told him I have about -36.7 interest in joining him.

alot of companies are similar built though ... I have had many tryingt o get me into this ... 

I ended up joining world financial group ... we'll just say tax write off .. and Monavie too ... I sell the juice Not a hard pusher but the ones who want it ;)

its funny cuz monavie is pushed around here a lot too.  they always talk about the big guy in our area and how much money he makes, what he drives and all that.  turns up he lives a couple houses down from me and they have meetings all the time at his house.  never met him.  but when people tell me about him im like "oh yeah that guy lives down the street from me.  when you go to his house, look for the biggest and nicest house on the way to his.  thats mine."

ACN ...that is back in the days. ADT was also a popular one. Currently, Primerica is the top scam. LOL. *sigh* People are so gullible and will continue to fall for these scams because all they think about is money and the idea of money is everything.

haha... yeah my friend tried to sell me that whole ACN sales pitch... reminded me of Excel, Dynasty, and even M.A.N.D.Y back in SD. i think i'll pass. It works for some people, just not me...
