2002 ls430 to a 2004 ls430 conv???

hey guys my friend wants to buy a 2002 ls430  cus prices on the 2004 ls430 are a little out of his budget , but he likes the 2004 front end has anyone done this conversion yet if so what parts do we need i might just get him a complete front clip but pulling the motor out is a job from hell so i would like to know  if fenders hood and stuff like that will bolt up i know the radiator support might need to be changed ,headlights and all that , thanks on the info :biggthumpup:

Seen it a few times in Japan..but not really in the US.

As far as the process, I have no idea.  But obviously it's doable in some shape or form since it HAS been done.

you need the hood, lights, bumper, light brackets fenders and maybe some more stuff under the hood. Its not as easy as changing the lights and bumper but its nothing too difficult. Freddie knows whats needed.
 
If your not getting a hook up on parts, the cost is just about the same as the difference in getting the newer car lol

i wanna see a 93 with that front end ;P

I know exactly what is needed. Parts: front bumper, grille, hood, fender(s), headlights(s), headlight support(s), and this little piece that connects the headlight support to the frame. -----NO radiator support is needed----- I know for sure 100%. Everything bolts up perfect.

As far as headlight wiring harness ( that part is up to you. ) If you don't care about the headlight leveling and swivelling from left to right to follow the road. Everything is plug and play. ***But you will get the headlight leveling on the dash*** Too avoid that you can pull the old headlight leveling out of the 01-03 model headlight ( which is just turn and pull....and it just pops out. But becareful not to break that peice ) plug that in the new headlight and you can either leave it hanging loose somewhere in the bay (that way you dont get the headlight leveling on the dash) But again, you will not have leveling on your headlight, which is no big issues to me. And a whole lot less on paying someone to wire the harness which I heard cost about $1,500 to do.

Also you can just pull the bulb in the speedo to make the light stop. Thats what I did cause of my (lack of) airbags.

Car-part.com is the best place to get the hood and fenders from, ebay the headlights, is he going to get a bodykit? Cause if so you can just order the 04 up bumper of your choice (or the OEM one if its a slip/lip kit) The grill obviously can be OEM or aftermarket.

Going off of ebay and car-part.com I came up with:

*2 Headlights: $450 (one side was $300, one side was $150)
*Hood is $350 but you'll probably pay $150 to ship so $500
*A chrome or blackchrome grill is $150
*Right and Left fenders are $600 after shipping ($200 a side plus ship)
*The headlight supports you are going to need to order from lexus, not sure price but probably ~$300

So EXCLUDING the front bumper of your choice you are looking at roughly $2,000 in parts for the conversion. It also gives you a chance with the fenders and hood off of the car to do some cool shit like custom fenders or OEM mercedes vents in the hood.

The one thing to think about however is that AFTER you do the swap... now you have a complete LS430 front end. Which can be A) sold as a complete conversion for someone to put on their LS/Acura/Geo Metro, or B) parted out on ebay. The headlights will be a slow sell but the OEM hood and fenders will go FAST. You SHOULD recoup a good $1,000 after the swap is done. The headlights could probably be sold here or on CL on the cheap (say... $200 for both) for someone to try a conversion on. So if you can get $150 a fender (which you can on ebay) $350 for the hood, and $200 for the headlight set (since nobody is really going to buy the OEM bumper or the OEM grill for any sum of money worth the hassle) so thats like $850 right there. Hope that helps.

Make sure the tabs in back of the lights are not broken.  They usually are if they are that cheap.  You don't want your headlights bounching up and down while driving

not worried about it i will run hid on fogs, high beams , and low beams so street wil be very bright clear to mee .... thanks !
