Easy Street Digital Controller

Let me save you your hard earned money and heart ache. Don't waste your money on the Easy Street Digital Controller. Ever since the Install I had nothing but problems with the "Pre-Set" (actually never ever got it to work properly), Automatic Mode, Etc. I had given up and was just going to "manually" set everything everytime (because Easy Street was absolutely not help at all).

Just when I thought things could not get any worse, tonight the Digital Controller decided to have total catastrophic failure. I had parked the Egg and was had 0 PSI in the bags..........when I started the car to drive off.....nothing. The unit would not even turn on.

I called Marshall and he dropped everything and helped "hotwire" my set up so that I would be able to drive the Egg. If that weren't enough, he offered to give me a ride from town down to Kaneohe to pick up my sister's ride.

No thanks to the Easy Street Digital Controller my ride is now "down" and Marshall is going to have to waste his time to re-do my set up with switches.

Sorry for the long story............moral of the story......don't waste your money and DO NOT buy the Easy Street Digital Controller. The Unit DOES NOT do what it says, customer service was no help, and you basically are screwed out $500.

If I am able to save someone from making the same mistake of buying this unit then my work is done. I am all about saving someone the grief and wasted hard earn cash, even if it is by learning from my bad experience.

Thank you once again to Marshall for coming to help me out. Also to Mikey, thank you for offering to come back into town to help me out.

Sukoshiyoshi, sorry to hear about your bad luck with the easystreet controller. I have had nothing but good things to say about it since i got mine. I hope mine decides to keep working so i dont have to write a similar thread.

Sucks to be me I guess..........hope Jaynick808 (as well as "others" from Hawaii) got his problems resolved with his Easy Street Digital Controller. Both his and my controller didn't do what it was "supposed" to do. Figure I would post up to save people from wasting their money. Not too familiar with Dakota Digital but from what I have heard they are 100 times better than the Easy Street Digital Controller. Now I wished that I spent the extra $200 for the Dakota.

For now the plans are to go with manual switches with a Digital gauge.....sucks but life goes on. Karma has its way of coming back "full circle".

damn sorry to hear that yoshi, ive had nightmares of being stuck somewhere far with the autopilot failing. ur lucky marshall is a good guy too. id be SOL myself. heh.

and no progress here, my first 2 units didnt work and now my installer got a new job so hes been too busy to install the new one, i can also imagine hes sick of installing and reinstalling the same parts on my car. i know i wouldnt be too stoked about doing a third install.

ive been busy on bodywork and other things too so hopefully by the time my car gets out of the paintshop my installer will be free to redo my easy street. if the autopilot isnt functioning still i suppose im going to just do manual paddles with a simple gauge til i figure out what to do. (i hacked the shit out of my ashtray to get the autopilot to fit clean :pat:)

the last time i talked to easy street was when yoshi took his van back.. with the controller not working properly.. after that I pretty much gave up..

I called them before i did the install for any tips and followed all there tips and still didnt work..

easy street never offered to exchange the product..

I dont know if they think that I installed it worng but I did it to there instructions and verbal advice..

if you ask me dont waste your money on it. I spent hours and hours on this set up..

I know that DMC installed the other controller in Hawaii and he also had problems with it.

And I hope easy street dosent think that we both installed it worng when both of us work as airline mechnics. and I have been wrenching for ages and also a ASE certified Mechanic..

I would suggest Easy Street to Refund Yoshis money becuase that controler never lived up to what its supposed to do.

Those of you that do have this controler working can you explaine to me what you did that i didnt do.. Did you just plug everything in and bamm it worked?

I still wana see a video or in person this controller work..

but one reason I would never install any controller like this in my own car is that .. it controlls everything.. UP down and Compressor on and off.. the brain frys and nothing works..

Eight08customs,

It would be great if they would offer me a "refund" as I am now going to have to have you take more time away from the Family to "redo" my set up to use "manual switches". I am super bummed as not only am I out the cost for the Easy Street Digital Controller, I am now going to have to spend more money. As if being let down by the Digital Controller not doing the "Pre-sets", "Auto Leak Sensor", Etc wasn't bad enough.

Regarding when I last communicated with Easy Street, its been a while. I was waiting for a response to my problems........although there did answer........they had no answers. I contacted them again as I hadn't heard back in quite some time and I didn't get any response.

Jaynick808,

Hope that the 3rd time's the charm.

Maybe we'll see some response from Easy Street.....who knows maybe they will offer me a refund to hopefully save some face. But to be honest.......I ain't holding my breath.

I have had mine for 2 years now, It works as i installed it myself .
It can be funny in its auto feature for not always being right but it works without failure in -40 degree weather.

I would still be leaning towards some sort of short or spike that is killing the system. The compressors are a huge drain and will cause major fluctuations which is why i wired in a 1 farad cap just for that purpose . If you keep frying parts it has to be the wiring is only being swapped out and not be rerouted. The circuits you are picking are not able to supply the device and frying it.
You asking for a company to help you and they have twice. When do you start thinking it has something to do with its installation on the 40th device?
If it is the same issue over and over again and you are not making changes then the same end conclusion will keep happening.
Take the others out of the equation ,
Where is it mounted.,
Where is it wired to .
Is the power isolated to is own circuit.
Do you have any buffers .
Basically if you are going to say a company is bad , post of your whole set up and all the details so we can see where there might be a problem , clearly and not by you just being upset at a system failure.

Being a mechanic is not a blanket of knowledge. I am a technician in LAN , pstn and voip which has helped me with wiring more than any of my training as automotive technician in college did . Which also could not have helped me solder or crimp a wried for the life of me.

ugh i typed a long detailed response and then clicked the back button on accident :pat::pat:

anyway..
both of us posted our problems, both talked to easy street more than enough times, and both have great top notch installers that are well known in hawaii for their custom work.

my installer and easy street exhausted all the options on where the problem could be. he re did all the wiring and checked all the circuits, grounds, connections etc. dont you think either me, my installer, or easy street would figure out to mention to check all the possible things? its not the same issue its different every time, theres multiple types of problems. first time the led power light on the ecu didnt work and neither did the compressor circuit. the second time the controller would power on and off and never fully auto test and before it could finish the whole system shut down. the controller worked a day later for a few mins then flickered out. the controller board looks slightly toasted, and the ecu looks like a made in china 80's electronic part that cost 99 cents.
as for a spike in the system, i cant even put my damn sounds back until my air is done so theres no draw there, im running a single AZ compressor but hardly run it since i cant play with my ride height in the car :pat: and also should mention i got a bigass kinetik battery which is supposed to be better than a farad cap. so i dont see the problem there. i got big wires, cause i was thinking of running 2 compressors later, so flow shouldnt be a problem either. idk man i wish it were that easy.

even if it works this last time, im sure not gonna be able to tell people to go with easy street even if they dont have money. cause its costing me way more than any digital kit out there..and im sure my installer will continue to point people in the way of air ride tech. and dakota. they have better service, and when something breaks it ships out that day not wait for me to pay for shipping it back then test it and question the way we hooked it up then ship another one out via GROUND or whatever that was, it took a little long.

SKpeformance...

Just opened up everything today on Yoshis van. It bothers me that the system fried.. so i just had to go investigate..

Problem first started after install..all there wires for the vaoves were marked wrong! pre sets not working.. leak detection not working.. and LCD screen going all haywire at times. manually it went up and down lke how it supposed to.. it some what worked from Nov 2008 of last year.. and yoshi just lived with the problems..

none of the wires are shorted what so ever..... if there was a short of some kind the fuses would have blew. none of the fuses blew.. all wire conections are heat shrinked

checked to see for any loose ground wires.. none.. all ground were grounded to factory grounding points.

IT cant be the wiring.. all it has is a Power, ground and Key on 12v .. the rest if the wires are for the valves and sensors.. it is on its own curcuit..

Its mounted in the trunk behind the panels mounted solid..

I have talked in person with easy street before and after the install.. did everything they told me to do.. and it still didnt work.. They never offered yoshi a swap out of the controllers.. the least they could have said was send it back we will send you another one.. with air runner and UAS i just told them what was worng and no questions asked they just sent me replacments and all of the time it was a defective part.. they dont go tell me it was my install..

you dont need to be a rocket scientist to wire this system up.. I know i installed it right..

IF like you stated it might be spikes burning up the system or having to add a 1 farad cap or add buffers.. why doesnt easy street mention that in the instructions or event told me all that when i called them. all they said was it straight forward install power, ground key on 12v and just plug everything in there are all labled.. when you let the system learn make sure you take out any exh mufflers or slowdowns..

I think easy street knows ther product sucks.. that why they are not chimming into this topic.

The reason I said im a certified Mechs.. was i didnt want people thinking that i was just an average back yard Mech doing installs.. When Having to install million dollar parts on planes you have to make sure its done right..

I take pride in what i do and i know that I know what im doing.. Safety if first in my books..

I know it wasnt my install..

Maybe your one of the few luckys ones that got an easy street controler that did work.. but so far from what i see and read and hear.. there are more people that have had problems with the controller.. IF it was so good you would see everyone posting up what an awsome product.

even yours dont work right... from what you posted.. shouldnt it work right all the time?
It can be funny in its auto feature for not always being right but it works without failure in -40 degree weather.

Yoshi

all the new wires are ran already for reg swtiches.. just have to go on monday to pick up the switches.. than i need to change some fitting to make it just a fornt back set up.. thani just need you gusges yor going to run and i need the pressure switch.. after this youll have a way better expriance with your air system and trouble free..

I agree with you on plane jane switches.. the simpler the set up the less problems.. i always tell all those i do installs for just keep to the basics.. all teh fancy stuff are just a pain in the ass if some thing goes worng..

Wish I just did switches to begin with......all this aggravation (sp) is really not worth it. All I know is that Easy Street will never get any business from me ever again.

Also please do not second guess my installer. That is just insulting. He took the time to go out of his way to contact Easy Street before any of the installation began. He followed every step that they mentioned, he even had to "extend wires" because the wires are way too short, not to mention that the wiring was messed up from the factory.

Sent Jeremy an e-mail to see if Easy Street is willing to offer me a refund or something. I will keep everyone updated if they do answer.

Weird, Ive had no issue with mine at all. I dont use the automatic ride heigh pre set option though because it takes a few minutes to actually adjust. I dont see the big problem with taking a minute to set each bag to the proper psi so that was really an option I could have done without anyways. 4 other people i know use the same control with not an issue as of yet.

^^I know of several too that work just fine...which is why I also raise my eyebrow..but Marshall does quality work, so who knows. There are far fewer not working than working properly from my experience. All the ones we did never had any issues, other than the initial set-up (getting used to the product and how it operates) I have no idea how everyone is installing theirs, so to pinpoint a problem there would be pretty difficult.

Hi marshall,

I have a question, if one person was to run just the plane switches, how could someone monitor the amount of air in the tank and bags?? Do you just need to add some additional digital display that monitors the psi of the tank and bags or do you use manual gauges??

thank you..Just curious.

Thank you.

jaynick808 I added the cap not for its ability to quickly adapt to spikes from the compressor and audio not for the added current it supplies @ 1 farad.

Hey eight08customs , very well said . I belive you know what you are doing , i am just asking questions.
I see bashing of products all day but very few people feel the need to give a full detailed explanation.
It sounds like you are checking things well.

No one told me to add the cap i just kept reading about alternators failing and batteies not holding the power to run them . So my training says add it to save both and i belive it has done that very well as my volatage drops are minimal of 0.5 volts with a 380c running.
Without the cap it shows a bigger initial drop of 3 volts on start up which can cause issue.

I would almost be willing to have a controller sent to me as my set up works . Then swap mine out to send to you which would prove either the one they have sent works or not
as well if the car or its wiring might have an issue.

As you are going to switches i doubt there is any need anymore.

Like i mentioned without seeing the car and its set up it is hard for anone to say where the issue is.

Good luck to both of you and hope something works out,

Thanks guys!

But I cant really do anything with yoshis controller unless they warranty it so it will give me a chance to reinstall it.. who knows maybe it was a bad controller. or maybe it was on my part that I did some how install it wornge. or I dont know if me exteneding the sensor wires would cuase it to mess up.. becuase I cut the wires one by one to make sure there was no way of mixing up wires and soldered and heat shrinked to make sure it had a good connection becuase i knew it was telling the comp what to do and any resistance in the wires could cuase it to not function right.

It really bothers me that this didnt work out.. Im a person who likes to make sure things work and if doesnt work or failed i like to get down to the problem and find out why.

from my experiance with this.. and my conclusion is.

IT did learn the car but like I was saying to Easystreet is i dont think it learned the car right. By the time in the learning mode got to the last wheel the tank was very low on air. "4gal Tank and one viair 480 compressor" but than i even plugged my own garage comressor intot he systems tank but even that made it worse becuase the psi on my comp is set at 120psi and it isnt the best comp arround so what happend was the comp on the car wouldnt kickoff and it could never get to the system pressure of 180psi.. I could have just used the garage comp for more storage but i didnt want to burn up the systems comp.. SO i scrapped that Idea..

BTW how many gal tanks are you all running and how many comps.. maybe the system needs 2 comps and a larger tank?

It did work right when it wanted to.. it wasnt consistant in the Auto Mode. IT would do some crazy stuffs and the car would end up at all diff presures at each wheel at times. some times it would set at the preset some times it wouldnt.. but most of the time it didnt.

The manual presets worked fine.. car went up and down each corner worked.

Digital display never worked right from right off the bat.. it would be all dashes and what not would flicker. Turned the key off and on that it would come on fine.. than it woud go haywire while driving.. or some times if it went haywrie if you wiggle the plug it would come back on.

Leak detection never worked.. I purposly loosened a line to check the function to simulate a small leak and it never did anything and all the air leaked out of the bag.

Than while driving I would notice it would some times trying to adj pressure.

IF you guys ask me if it was safe reelase the car? i say nope..and usally would never let things leave me like how this system was becuase its my name on this install but i knew if there was switches it would have been a bullet proff set up. But i left it up to the owner and also advised and offered to install switches instead. But he wanted to give it a try.

I was working hand in hand with ES to work out the kinks. but than all communications stopped. Never was offered a new one.. or to send it back to have them check if the brain and display was faulty before the thing crapped out and went dead.

There was never any rush to get yoshi his van back and I already a month into the install stuck on the digital controller. Im sure Yoshi could have waited for a replacement or ES opion after they looked at it.

But ask me if I would ever recomend any digital controller in hawaii.. I say nope.. you have one brain that controlls everything from when the comp comes on to making the car go up and down.. There no shop in Hawaii that stocks this stuffs and if some tihng goes worng you stuck for good.. Like in Yoshis case .. its easier to fix a pressure switch or a bad valve or a switch becuase you can find those locally in Hawaii.. but a controller has to be flown in. Lucky im not like a normal shop where yoshi would have had just a shop number and no ones in a shop at night..

I appricate everyone responses! Im just glad those that have in have no complaints and it worked out for them.

But in all there are many that are many unhappy with the product and we need to find a solution to the problem and get to the bottom of this.

Thanks for the offer.. just wish there was someone in HAwaii with a properly working controller that i could have just swapp out to see if the controller was fualty. Right now the concussion is I checked everything and i got power ground and 12v key on all the way to the controller.. and the controller is dead.

Okay everyone here is the update. I received an e-mail from Jeremy from Easy Street regarding what they can do on their end. He stated that the problem as to why my Unit went on the brink was possibily because of the wire than needed to be entended. He said that the unit is very sensitive to voltage and that may have caused the problem. He is willing to send me another unit. If in fact my problems are the wire extentions, I stated that unless ES is able to send me a unit with "extended wires" from the factory my ride would just be "downed" for a long period of time and my problem would not be fixed.

He also stated that he is unable to offer a refund because the unit was already installed. But I know for a fact that there are some who did receive refunds after installing the unit and finding similar problems which I am experiencing. I asked him to send this e-mail to the person who is responsible with "refunds" to have them contact me.

I also shared with him that the ES unit leaving me stranded was the last straw and have asked for a refund.

I will update as to the response from Easy Street.

We have thousands of these units in the market with no issues. The 2 people in this thread having issues have both modified the original wiring harness, which it states in the manual that will void any warranty. I am more than willing to send replacements (against company policy) to get you taken care of. I do not want to see anyone unhappy with or doubt our customer service or products.

Thanks Jermy.. i''ll leave it up to yoshi..

but as you know its a undercar install.. the wires are to short. are there any plug extenders to plug in to existing harness.. unless the brain is weather proff there is nothing else to do but to extend the wires... thats why extra cuation was taken on my side to make sure wires were not crossed and all soldered and heat shrinked.. if it was that senative to voltage why isnt everything soldered to each sensor..

i didnt know extending the really short wires would void warranty??
anyone with a working setup like SKperformance have pics of their unmodified setup?? even IN my trunk we couldnt get those short harnesses to reach while maintaining a clean setup in my sparetire well. maybe cause i have 2 tanks and a big compressor? idk. i believe my installer hooked up my second unit without extending the harness and it didnt work still. gotta check on that though im not 100%

In response to my having wires already "extended" from the factory, they said they would be unable to do that.

I would like to 2nd the request from Jaynick808 regarding photos of your "unmodified" installs. How were you guys able to run the system without "extending" the wires?

Jeremy once again offered to send me a new unit, and said that he is checking on what he can do with the refund situation. I responded, "if you could get back to me regarding the refund situation it would be very much appreciated."

We'll see what happens now.

question to those who have it working right and not right..

are your wires extended?

what size lines are you running..

The kit came with fittings and Tees for 1/2 lines.. we used 1/4 in lines this system..

OK im guessing that the Tees were to be installed on the lines to move the senders closer to the brain so that the wires would reach..

One reason i never installed those tees is that use of 1/4in lines and those were push to connect tees.. those fittings sux after a few years they leak becuase of an oring seal in them.. even if they say DOT on them they will leak.. I owrk with those every single day on the fuel trucks that are used to fuel planes and push to connect always leaks.. and that why i change them up to compression fittings in which will never leak unless the hose breaks.. Also my theory is the more fittings = more leaks.. i would rather just mount the sender to the valves..

I agree the wiring is very short and i was tempted to extend them but i do not like to modify anything i am not precisely sure about .
I mounted my whole set up under my rear parcel shelf. The 5 gallon tank ,the ecu and both manifolds. Only the compressor is located lower for better sound dampening and water trap performance . It also helps for voltage drops for a better ground with its location for shorter wiring .
It is not a clear pic but you can see the tank in the center and the manifolds to the left and right .
I tried to keep all the wires and hose at a bare minimum.

So here you guys go , hope this helps.
BTW i hate spare tire installs as it takes up so much good space. I still have a spare ,a full(oversized sub box) and room for a stoller. As well as all teh other parts i need. I also never have to worry about it being damaged as it is all out of the way .It also freezes here in Canada so the heater can warm teh rear parcel shelf if i run into frozen valves which has not happened since i dump the trap religously.

Thank you for your pics. Are you running 1/2 lines and using the "T's" which came with the kit? Also what kind of issues have you run into with the Auto Feature?

Seeing that the wires are very short I am assuming that there has to be someone out there who has actually spliced their wires and their unit is working. I want to eliminate the possiblity that the wire slicing is the dirty culprit. Others who have posted up(jeebus, elpresidente), please share what you did, used the 1/2 inch lines which came with the kit, extended wires, used "T" fittings, etc. This is really bugging me and I am sure that it is bugging the heck out of eight08customs. We both want to get to the bottom of all this.

I am still keeping my fingers crossed that Jeremy will talk with their "refund" department to get me my money back.

No problem for the pic.
I forgot to add the ecu is located dead center above the tank , so it would give me symmetry.

Sorry i forgot to add , i am using 1/4 inch lines as i wanted it slow and tight.
I have no T's for anything, all lines are run straight from the manifolds to the shocks.

The only issue with the auto feature is its fuzzy logic or mapping. It will try to react too fast to spikes on auto up and then drop the shock way too low , then it seems like it gets scared and stops switching it. My leak detection works too well as it will even pick up changes from the pressure of each shock when i start driving as it reduces the loads.

I know it sucks but remove the extended length and give it a test run for a week in a temp fab .Then after that works or not you can think about adding length . I would just move teh location of the parts to the parcel shelf like mine but i think you have a bus or van.

thanks SK.. but this install is in a family van and its an under car install.. tank valves comp w/t are all under the car..

you mentioned that you had manifold vavles right. in yoshis system we used valves but i dont think that would matter or make a diff.

the problems you mentioned are very similar to what yoshis ride was doing.. IMO lke i told yoshi it works but not how I myself would expect for an item that cost that much.. I was hopeing for a smoooth lift with using 1/4 inch lines.. and it more consistant..

For me when the auto features acts funny all it does is
0psi --> 115
115 --> 90
90 --> 100
It is in the matter of 1.5 seconds for that whole sequence and if it does happen it is only 1 shock . It also only happenes once out of every 10 starts , so it is not that it keeps doing it . I feel the system is having a hard time balancing to get the exact pressures which is hard to do unless you have a variable valves or restrictors to make any psi changes very slow thus easy to adjust.

I would say mine lifts smooth as i have no issue with it for that, it take 2 seconds max to get to ride height on auto. It is not harsh in any way. It does not bounce going up and doesn't slam down even when i removed the restrictors it only got louder but i still can't tell when my frame hits the pavement.

BTW how long did you extend the wires?
What did you need the T's for ?

You should be able to mount the ecu and valve in the car as it is only 1/4 lines. You can still fee the dump sides back outside for noise but it will keep them cleaner also.

I will allow eight08customs chime in, as far as I know.........he extended the wires by cutting only one at a time to avoid any mix up. He also soldered all the wires and heat shrinked the wires. He also did not use the "T" fittings as they are an inferior product. He upgraded all of my fittings to compression fittings which are much better than the fittings which come with the Unit. I believe the ECU is in my side panel in the rear.....but I could be wrong.

He took every step necessary to ensure that the product would work. He even upgraded parts to avoid problems with the fittings which will leak in the future.

I think that I have the information correct but will let my installer chime in, to correct any errors I may have posted.

I have compression fittings also for my 1/4 lines but that will have no bearing on the way the controller works only for if the lines leak.

So far the one difference we do know of is that it is modified lengths. It may have been done one by one to reduce issues but that does not mean it will not have any. Even the best surgeons have off days , ask Kanye West or look at Joan rivers. :pat:

The sensors are sensitive as that is what they are made for at a high pressure application. Even the solder used can decay the signal depending on the flux or resin core. Also the actual agent in the solder which may have replaced its lead content.Which is also well the same reason you never use solder on speaker wires unless you are tacking it in place to a terminal with a connector or on a pcb board.

Like i said at the beginng of the thread , just calling it bad with out an explaination of what went wrong is not a factual based observation. :rules:
As this thread went on we learned of the issues and the big sore spot of the wires .
In the responses you sukoshiyoshi are almost 100% postive of the issue and why than your installer eight08customs who is giving everything the benifit o fthe doubt.

After being in the game for a while and making and destroying things along the way i think 808 has learned this also because whenever you say it is 100% something or not , it turns around and kicks you in the assss. :slap:

Rember you are going on an end result ,which is it is just not working.
808 is doing the work so he has a good idea on its details like you said
as far as I know
.
:thelaw:

Sorry i got smiley happy.

If easy street which is nice of them ( since i know if i modify anything i am SOL from any company , just like lets say a car) is willing to send you another one ,you are going to have to run it unmodified. After running it for a month or 2 you can decide if you want to modify it and run the risk of it dieing as it would be all on you at that point. :saiyancrunks:

Again good luck , i think you can finally get this thing working properly and going the rest of us in the auto pilot lounge .

I would still like to hear from others who are running this system with no problems. Did they cut wires? Photos and Set up. El Presidente and Jeebus please feel free to chime is to share what type of set up, very interested.

Did this thread come back to kick me in my A%#? I don't think so. There is clearly an issue with the length of the wires that come with the kit.

I think that this thread is a good point of reference for those who are looking to go Digital and may help them when they are deciding on what type of Unit to purchase.

I never screwed with the harness..ever. I just made things work with what I was given. I didn't design the system, so why should I modify it?

u guys are way ahead of me, i still havent gotten the preset feature down. hahah.

but mine has been good to me besides the occasional times when it will read 0psi although its full of air (which is rare).

and $500? wow you got ripped off. it was only like $200 for mine online.

$200? I think you're just thinking of the controller by itself..which is about $200.

I usually hit the ride height setting to get close to it, then manually fine tune it to make sure it's right. It's a good system, just slow. And pressure sensors aren't as effective as actually ride height sensors. Like when more people are in the car or if the car is on a slight incline, the preset setting isn't accurate.

sukoshiyoshi i was never saying the thread would kick you in the ass, just as an installer when you do something and then make up you mind it is 100% not something THAT turns around and proves you wrong. It happens as it is just something you learn by trial and error to never say IT or IT will happen.

I also wish it had ride height sensors as ever few months i get out the metal ruler form my trunk to calibrate the heights again. Now if easy street makes that it will blow others away as i could not care for wireless remotes as my remote start lifts it on demand. Even better would be an aux line that would be on the ecu so i could set my alarm aux buttons to send a momentary ground signal from it to the ecu to drop the car or raise it.

wow what a debate.. everyone has there own opinions..

Yea us crazy hawaiians just love to hack up wires.. lol

I been doing this type of work to long.. I have built up classic cars from scratch to dissembleing gorund power units to hydraulics in Low riders.. you name it i done it.. I had my fare share of messing up stuffs.. that why i called easy street before i installed that controller and asked if ther was any tips and what so ever i should know before i installed the unit.. all i was told was make sure mufflers and any restrictor be removed when in the learning mode and i have to go through with the learning mode for it to opperate properly.. there was no where in the conversation easy street saying dont make the wires longer.. or i was the first to ever do that? also was told wireing was straight forward all wires are marked. one of the other reasons I called easystreet is wheni founf out what yoshi was having me install i read so much negtives about this controller and I wanted to make sure i was doing it right. and i even told yoshi why he buy that for and that i read only bad stuffs about the system.

I dont mind taking the blame for this messed up controller. But who knows if extending the wires was the cuase.. or it was a bad controller. I suppose cutting the valve wires shorter was part of the cuase also becuase it was made way to long for a reason?

Im guessing that i was the first one to mount the set up under the car and run into this problem???..

But from reading.. even if you claim it works.. its still not 100% if you pre set to 100lbs.. I would expect it to adj to 100 psi all the time. there is no wheres saying that it will be 85%.. and some times over shoot the 100lbs and have to maunally Adj it where you want it.. I beleive thats wasnt the reason people put will purchase a controller . if your going to have manually adj the pressure after it gets you to about where your presset it it defeats the purpose and the controller isnt doing what it claims to do.. swtiches can do the same and why even spend the amount of money when the cortoller is supposed do it for you.

I guess your opinion of it works most of the time is your opinion and your happy with it.. In yoshis case he didnt like it and it never worked to his expectations. perhaps becuase of me.. but who knows. We will never know.. unless easy street proves me wornge..

There was a reason for everythig going under the car.. my job was to keep his trunk 100% usefull.

In order to run the valve in the car i have to redo more of what been already done. Plus I would hate to have to hide those Valves in the trunk pannel of the van becuase if something goes worng you have to tear out the seats to actually get the panel off. In which i regret putting the controller there but there was no place else becuase those wires were already short. I design all my set ups to easlly be serviced becuase I know ill have to work on it later or if something goes wrong i can get it going ASAP the easiest way possible.. Just imagine if those valve were mounted in the rear panel with the contrller.. I would have been taking apart that whole car just o get to the vlave to jump it to raise the van..

I have extended more sensative wires before with ECUs harnesses in the cars and extended wires from automive sensors just to hide the wires to get a clean look in my eng bay for more points in shows.. The car ran fine after.. That ECU in the cars are way more sensative than that controller.

I know that i didnt cross any wires.. extending them. and trust me i aint no lame duck to just cut wires and not know where they go.. especially when the wires were already all black. Soif you ask me that i mixed up the wires.. i know 100% that i didnt becuase

1. all the pressure readings were reading right..
2. when in the learn mode. it went from one wheel to the next and than to the next wheel..
3. everything worked fine in manual..

I really cant see how extending the wires would cuase the auto mode to go haywires when you all ready said happens once every 10 starts..

SO why was the LCD going haywire and going blank when it felt like.. i never touched that wire.. But it only did it prob once every 6 times..

I would like to see easy street prove that extending the wires was the cuase and not use there customer as guinie pigs.. and do it on more than one of there controllers.. Right now no one can prove who right and whos wronge.. and all this finger pointing will keep going on..

Can easy street state why those wires were made so short? for what reason? and why the valve wires were way to long? i would figure where ever that valve is your sender be right on it.. same for the air tank sender.. why was that one longer?

can they tell me what is the diff in resistiance in a wire thats 2 feet and a wire thats 5 ft..

I also beleive that yoshi did ask tehm for controller with longer wire and they told him that it would be a long wait.. so wire lengths should have an effect in function of the controller.

Its easy streets product and all R&D should have been done by them before they even think of sending yoshi a new controller.. if not at least a partial refund.. becuase they were aware of his problems before the controller went up in smoke.

OH yea another thing why does the kit come with fittings for 1/2 hoses... why isnt there any option of 1/4 in.. are we supposed to use 1/2 hoses? How many gallon tank is this system supposed to use.. becuase it dont state in the instructions whats the min gallon tank you need to use.. becuase i know for sure that this system wont work with a 2 gal tank like some of the set ups i did.. or what if i sent tankless set up...

so for those whos thinking of getting this controller.. Im not here to say dont buy it.. just here to help you make your desision..

but from an isntallers veiw? I would never recomend this brand.. becuase there are better things out there that work better.. just remember you get what you pay for..

for those do it your selfers..

Run swtiches! less head ach.. you still have to press buttons with a controller.. just like how you will press a swtich to go up and down.. keep it simple.

se you guys later..

This thread is so sad because as eight08customs has stated nothing has been proved, I find it interesting that Jaynick808 has now three Controllers sent to him and not once was he told that "maybe" the reason why his controllers were crapping out was because wires were extended from Easy Street.

I asked Easy Street if they would make a "Custom" set up with longer wires (If that is really the culprit) and they told me flat out that they would not be able to do so.

I know that eight08customs has done everything in his power to install this unit right. Like he stated he even called Easy Street before any work began and not once did they give him instructions about not extending wires. Who knows maybe Easy Street is just finding out that extending wires can cause failure (once again "if" that is really the culprit) only after both Jaynick808 and myself encountered problems with our units. FYI "installers" are different but they both felt the need to extend.

I agree that things are learned on a "trial and error" base but by making this statement, " just as an installer when you do something and then make up you mind it is 100% not something THAT turns around and proves you wrong. It happens as it is just something you learn by trial and error to never say or it will happen." you are assuming it was the installers' error.

Regardless I along with my installer share the same feelings when it comes to this unit. I am hoping that Easy Street will be able to offer something. If they are not willing to offer me a Refund I would take another unit and turn around and sell it to make up for the monies that I am having to spend to get my Egg back up and running. Manual switches from here on out and the only thing Digital with my set up will be my Dakota Digital "Gauge."

808 i guess we have very different on opinions at this point, my controller trying to regulate the pressure to a percent ratio over not draining my tank to get it precise.
It is about seeing the bigger picture or the forest from the trees.
If i want super slow with major line resrictors then it would be able to dial in the height perfectly.
But it is air at 150psi shooting in there. It is like trying to get acuracy from a shot gun at 50 ft.

I would not think it is haywire in any way because it goes up trying to balance a shock? What is it for then.

What is the big deal with installing it behind panels , if you keep everything nice and tight and test run it before reinstalling it then you should never have to open anything unless you expect to have issues.
Valve do get issues , lines don't get issues unless they are installed improperly or become physically damaged by being installed improperly.

If you want it to work make it work the way it was designed or accept the concequenses if it fails . You both assumed that wire length ,wire and solder had no effect on the unit .
How do we know the accuracy of the ecu ? I know the accuracy of the senders but the tolerance of the ecu reading it is different , we don't know if voltage drops were taken into accoount.
An automotive ecu is made to read a variable table of readings depending on several criteria . So it will adjust to compensate for voltage or signal variances.

How long did you make the wires?
Did you check for resistance , did you duplicate the test with load such as .5 amps?

I am just guessing to give hypothetical situations.

I never assumed anyone was wrong. yoshi . i said you need to reserve judgment until you find the conclusion as an installer.

Previous posts indicated it may be an issue with the wires being extended. no one else without the wires extended has an issue, atleast here.

I don't doubt anyones experiance and am just trying to help , i don't get where the hostility in the past few posts are coming from.
I am only drawing directions from what information is being posted by you 2.
I am a very systematic person and my troubleshooting comes from the same basis as computers it is either a 1 or a 0 ,yes or no to get to the end of the road.

Wow this is getting deep! 808 did you ask when you called in about extending the wires? If you did I can assure you, you would have been told not to modify the system in way. We are not mind readers and can't cover absolutely everything in a 5 min conversation, even though we may try. We are aware that modifiying the wiring harness in anyway can disrupt the signal to the ECU and cause problems, that is why a modified system cannot be covered under warranty. This is why we engineer and test the system in the configuration that we sell, we know it works! If we made the harness longer, then we would probably have people cutting it because it is too long, we can't win. Same with line size, we have more calls for 1/2 then we do for 1/4 systems, so that is what we build. I have 100% total confidence in this system and so do many others. I apologize for the issue Yoshi has ran into and I am working as quickly as possible to get him taken care of. If anyone has quesitons on the Auto Pilot system, please contact me jhart@airliftcompany.com or 1-800-248-0892 ext.252

im sure making wires longer would be the option if you guys knew about this.. its better to have to much than to little.. and just like the valve wires that were to long i just bundled them up...

I didnt ask becuase i figured if that was a touchy thing about main wires longer was somethingi should have known and you knew about it that would have been the first thing you told me when i called.

but again we still end up in the same spot.. what went worng?

If solder and cutting the wires why is ther plugs on teh sensors.. wouldnt that cuase resistance? and cuase a resrtiction

I added about 3 ft to the harness

I don't sense hostility, I am pointing out that although you say that nothing has been proven, the fault lies in my installer's work. Yes you are not saying it directly in a sense but you seem to have drawn your conclusion at that. Which is perfectly fine because you are entitled to your opinion.

My case and point, "If you want it to work make it work the way it was designed or accept the concequenses if it fails . You both assumed that wire length ,wire and solder had no effect on the unit ."

And you are adament (sp) about that. Maybe it's just me but I still find it hard to understand how Easy Street would keep sending New Units to Jaynick808 and not recognize that the wire extensions were really the cause (if it is the problem). Wouldn't a bell go off and say, "okay this unit came back to us......I wonder what it maybe"? Then the second time instead of just sending another unit would you not look into what could be the cause? Maybe it is just me........

"It is about seeing the bigger picture or the forest from the trees.

But it is air at 150psi shooting in there. It is like trying to get acuracy from a shot gun at 50 ft."

I agree with you in theory, but Easy Street states that it has this feature. Would you not expect that it would smoothly go to the Pre-set PSI and not go up and down to get the right PSI? Or atleast maybe fine tune it for a much smoother transition? Maybe even have it in "fine print" that the Unit does not smoothly bring Pre-set ride height. Or take that option out together as a whole as it sounds like it still needs a little more time in the R&D to get it to function correctly?

Also your comment, "i said you need to reserve judgment until you find the conclusion as an installer." This is why I have the work done by Professionals, if I had the skills myself would you not think that I would of did the work myself? But because I am not an "installer" like yourself I am not qualified to point out obvious flaws from statements made regarding what the Unit will in fact do?

Don get me wrong I appreciate your input and your expertise in the field but the wire extension is all speculation at this point. There are obvious flaws with what is being stated regarding what the unit is supposed to do. Even those who have not extended wires have stated that "once in a while", "on rare occations" this does this/this does not do that. Once again no hostility here, just a statement of facts which people who have the system are stating.

Also like to thank Jeremy at Easy Street for doing what he can at the Corporate Office regarding my Auto Pilot System.

Update on my status.........my Egg is back up and running with my new set up:

-Dakota Digital Gauges
-UAS Controller Box
-4 New Senders
-1 New Pressure Switch
-And a whole bunch of new plumbing

Big thanks once again for Eight08customs for getting my Egg back up and running. Unfortunately the parts for my replacement set up set me back over $400.00. Been sending e-mails back and forth with Jeremy at Easy Street and he is trying to see what he can do for me but still have not received a "final" on what can and will be done. In Easy Streets' defense, this process is probally taking long due to the fact that I do not know where my Invoice is(Senior Moments). Hopefully this will have a "Happy Ending" with a "Refund". But if not I will be turning around and selling it for $400.00 + Labor Costs for my "Replacement" Costs........to who ever wants to take a chance.......hey atleast you will get it at well below MSRP. LOL

808 after reading your thread on the other site i might want to correct a few things.
I never told you to get a cap , i said i installed one to prevent issues.
As installer it is your place to know things and up sell the customer on ones that fit. When you buy an amp do they give you a cap ? No , they sell you one, IF you want it.

After reading the other post i never thought about the screen going blank.
Where is the ecu , where is the controller ? Is the controller mounted to a bracket or free to move? Is it using the original cat 5 cable or a shorter/longer one ?

Again with this 100% perfection thing , if that was the expectation who would ever buy a car ? Who would ever buy rims as they all wuld bend compared to the OEM ones , would you expect the rim companies to buy new roads for you also?
A certain price point is a justication for how well or good a product performs. If it was not then why would their be different prodcuts . You would walk into a store and have one widget that is one color . If you want sparkles or better aerodynamics then you have to pay for it it is not going to be free.

If anything why would you not use the controller unit to display the pressures and use manual switches . I can gurantee that manual switches will never adjust the pressures to the exact pressure you want without over/under shooting it over and over to get it right.

Remember look at things rationally and practically and leave the emotions at the door . Stop bashing companies or people and look for a resolution as blame never gets anyone anywhere.

BTW i am running my ES set up for 2 years with no problems and there are way more satisfied customers than you 3 with issues. Mabe we just don't care and are lying or are trolls. Eitehr way ours works and is well worth the money.

the person on the other site lives in north colorado, so constant exposure to the extremely cold temps could be messing with the electronics.

3 teammates of mine run the es setup and we installed all of them with all working perfectly with no problems.

as far as selling a product that doesnt work 100%.. tell that to microsoft, ford, chevy, and millions of other companies. no product will EVER be 100% perfect.

haha kyle and samson, i have a third brand new unit waiting to be installed that u can look at and tinker with if you are up to the task =) haha my installer hates my car already and has been putting off.

also maybe we got a new batch of controllers, cause apparently everyone that i bump into that got it recently 6 or so months has problems and people that had their system for a year or two seem to have little to no problems. idk some kind of anomaly maybe.

This is just from this post................hope you guys don't mind me "quoting" you guys.

Kohinoor wrote: "as far as selling a product that doesnt work 100%.. tell that to microsoft, ford, chevy, and millions of other companies. no product will EVER be 100% perfect."

So when you go shopping you "expect" and allow manufacturers to lie and that you buy a product knowing that "all" the features will not work properly? Do you think that it is okay and ethical to state that a product does something that it doesn't? Or does it but not efficiently? But I guess its okay because "millions of other companies" are doing it huh?

I am happy for those whose controller do exactly what was stated(Brandicus, customers of Elpresidente, Jaynick808 (Just messing with you man).............and I found it interesting at the same time that people with controllers that worked had a "but, sometimes, or rarely".

At the same time I am glad this was informational to mrkenji, ALEXTHESUS*PECT. I love my manual switches and I will unfortunately never go back. Keeping it simple is the way to go.

Jaynick808......hope the 3rd times a charm......I feel for your installer.

The preset feature does work, just not that well. I didn't expect much from pressure sensors. Ride height sensors are much more accurate but they are also more expensive. Everything else works as advertised.

I asked this before but i guess you missed it.

After reading the other post i never thought about the screen going blank.
Where is the ecu , where is the controller ? Is the controller mounted to a bracket or free to move? Is it using the original cat 5 cable or a shorter/longer one ?

I just hope in general that everything gets resolved... hate to see people getting upset at each other or hating..... I'm sure the product is a good product, or it wouldn't be on the market. ANd i know for a fact that Eight08customs is a pro and top notch installer.... I would trust what he says and does. Along with Jaynicks installer cause I love the clean and great work he does as, a pro as well..... but to have multiple people and that many units with problems is kinda weird. Does anybody have the wiring diagrams or the manuals for this unit so I can look at.. I REALLY wanna check it out... thanks in advance

Personal experience, no.... I built my truck for speed, speed as in from fully slammed to fully locked up and back slammed in less than 1 second... built to lay frame on 22s, and while running nitrogen hop 4" off the ground. But that's another story... I do a lot of reseach on air suspension cuz guys locally come to me to help them build an air system for their trucks, and sometimes cars...

Its just air ride technologies has been around a very long timr, and they specifically build air suspensions for performance.... meaning they are dedicated to only one thing, where as air lift comapny is the main company but has, I think 3 departments one of them being easy street... I've had a few problems with air lift company but have had most resolved. They upgraqde all their plastic fittings to stainless steel, but I had one bag blow out on me and they never replaced it for me like they said. The bag slipped out of its clamp... air ride technology is a bit more expensive than air lift company (easystreet) but you get what you pay for...

ive made a long post about this already.
its a new system they sent me, professionally installed, exactly how they explained many times. the system is just not working.
ripping it out, putting a temporary switchbox in.
i will make a thread about this later im just so sick right now im thinking of flying up to lansing michigan to get my damn money back.

you guys can talk all you want about their systems working, it wont sway me on how i feel about them. hell maybe they outsourced the manufacturing somewhere different recently, who knows. all i know is the last 3 i got are fukn useless and yoshi has problems too and we both bought ours around the same time which was not too long ago.

or like eight08customs said maybe were just a bunch of 'crazy hawaiians?'

Sorry to hear man........3 sent and all 3 didn't work huh? I was hoping that the 3rd time around was going to be the charm for you and your ride. Good luck with trying to get a Refund. If you do make a trip out the Michigan would you mind picking up my Refund at the same time? Just kidding man! Hope your story has a happy ending to it.

I am still awaiting word regarding my possible Refund of the Product. They were able to find my "paper work" a couple weeks ago and no word on the Status. Will probally shoot Jeremy on Monday to follow up.

I just got to say that I love my switchbox, yeah it don't have the "pre-set" features and I have to mess with it to get the "exact" PSI I want, but the reassurance that it won't leave me stranded some where is "peace of mind".

just this past time they sent out a whole new system. the other 2 times were just ecu and the harnesses i believe. haha im sure their 'techs' thought out all the possible problems by now. they must be almost as sick of me as i am sick of them.

well got a new avs billet 9rocker box. i like how it has a lowrider feel and i dont like how it has a lowrider feel. i was going for a classy minimalist look and the 5 inch polished switch box kind of sticks out. but what can i say, for the first time i can control my damn airsuspension from my interior thats more than i can say with the last said company i was working with.
my installer may join the boards for this too im not sure if he has the time though. we'll see. he knows more than i do on the subject.

can someone please post a videoclip of a working autopilot for me? i just want to see it in action. i gave up on this already but im just curious as FUCK by now to see it. no joke here i really wanna just see it with my own eyes.

im not sure if the cat5 cable got replaced the last time i just know that they sent out a new system. dont know exactly how complete it was. could have been everything but the cat5 cables. i know it had a new ecu, harness and controller.

are you suspecting a faulty cat5 cable making these problems?

either way that shit is not going back into my car.

i still havent bothered contacting easy street about any replacement or refund. i doubt that will get anywhere. its gonna end up being over a $1000 loss including installs and shipping back n forth.
not to mention i have a woodgrain ashtray thats got a autopilot fiberglassed into it.:pat:

Jaynick808,

Hey it doesn't hurt to try to get your money back. I believe that you have done more than your part to try to remedy the problem....you tried 3 different times. That has got to give you some "brownie" points to show that you made the effort while dumping more and more out of your own pocket.

I myself also spent well over $1,000 for the Easystreet Digital Controller plus my replacement set-up when the unit decided to just stop working. I am still awaiting updates regarding my Refund for my Controller. Yeah sure it may take close to 6 Months to "maybe" get your Money back but I think that better to "try". I will let you know what happens with my situation.

I mention the cat 5 cable and controller as it is an important part to this system working.
If you disconnect the controller the ecu will not work at doing anything but filling teh compressor tank.
If a few certain pins fail or are not completed in teh circuit then it will show "ecu not detected ".
So let's say the cat 5 is damaged and it is not replace then no matter what you do it will fail over and over again.
SImple check is to leave it out and just add power to the system by a battery and use a new cat5 cable directly to the contoller.
It takes 5 minutes and will tell you something.

thanks, but theres really no need to figure it out, for me anyway. and im sure yoshi is beyond over it hehe. the only way that thing is going back in my car is.....well maybe if they pay for the install and the uninstall when it breaks again. hahaha no seriously though just for peace of mind i wont even keep the system in there for free. with my luck it would short out while im with a girl or something.
i got used to the lowrider style billetrockerbox i got and bought a dakota gauge from yukis45 (thanks man!) soo after buying senders and paying for the install i think i could safely say my air suspension system cost waaaaaaaaaaaaay too much. for uas over new stock struts it cost me..idk well over 5k already. i could have bought bold world with a dakota gauge for a little over 6 installed plus shipping =( fml

Here's a little update........after more than 6 months, I have gotten nothing but Red Tape and the Run Around the whole time while Dealing with Easy Street regarding my Refund. I their Defense I did not have my Receipt but they were able to hunt down my Invoice on their side which I thought was enough. But they kept saying that they needed a Record of how much I purchased the item. I didn't even care if they were only willing to give me back their "Net Rate" that they give to their Distributor. I would of taken anything to compensate me.

After being given another 2 Months of BS and run around after finding my Invoice on their end I just told them to send me a New Unit so that I can turn around and sell it so that I can hopefully make back some of my monies from buying this unit and for the parts to make my air with Switches. When I open the box all they send me is a New Brain and Wiring Harness. So I have to peice together my "Used" Digital Gauge, it's Cord and Senders to Complete the Kit. Being Used that will limit the amount that I can hope to get back.

If that ain't enough......check this BS out, this is Easy Streets' Official Web Site

http://easystreetair.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=692

Pay Special Attention to their "Disclaimer" on the Bottom, it reads:

*Disclaimer: This system is a universal system and may require some modification to the wiring harness to work with your current system. Also, you must mount your ECU in a dry location.

So this whole arguement from Easy Street about moddifying the Wiring Harness Voided the Warranty BS.....that is exactly what it is BS!

I am just posting this here to save people from wasting their hard earned monies. I wish that someone would of told me this so that I could of saved my monies and used it for something more than an Over Priced Digital Controller that don't do what it says.

For those who has this Controller and it works, lucky for you. I am just sharing my side of my Story to allow Future Buyers to have my "personal" experience to "refer to". Personally will I ever Recommend Easy Street? Never in my life but I think that is understandable going through what I had to go through.

My Installer would know best how to answer that question. Before he began any work to install the Easy Street Digital Controller he personally called them for any tips of "what to" and "what not" to do. He even called during the Install to try to find the remedies to the faults of the Controller. He did everything they suggested with no fixes to the problems.

What will probally end up happening is that because I actually have an Ethics, I will not turn around and sell this unit. If I do, I will make sure that the Buyer knows very well what He or She is getting themselves into. So basically I am stuck with a Easy Street Digital Controller which is a worthless POS.........I guess in the end Easy Street wins, because they got my money. Spent good money for a Lemon (Easy Street Digital Controller).........a Lemon (fruit) would of been better in this case because atleast I could use it to make Lemonade.
