Carlisle Performance & Style: May 9-10

Hello. Carlisle Performance & Style - May 9-10, 2009 - is open to VIP Style cars. The show is held at the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds. We had 1558 vehicles registered in 2008 and we're ahead of where we where at this time last year with pre-registration numbers so it sounds like we'll be over 1600. The show is made up of custom compacts, tuners and vip style cars. We do get a large group from NELOC and some other vip cars already, but I'd like to see the number of vip style cars double this year!

For more info about the show visit: http://www.carlisleevents.com/ce/events/performance-style/

Or call in to: 717-243-7855.

If you have any questions please let me know.

pointless...

You should see some of the feedback from our pavilion last year. Most of the ricers hated the VIP cars and the Lexus pavilion. They said we were snobs and we should hold our show at the Ritz Carlton....:smiley-rofl: The East Coast is waaaaay behind the VIP curve......

Mark...why are you giving the show a bad rep?? ONE guy said that, not "most." "MOST" people said they loved the display. I can show you that from our post event online survey if you'd like to see it.

The show could become more VIP Friendly if more people showed up and showed the rest of the auto community what your scene is all about. A lot of people hate it because they cannot (or chose not to) afford it.

I appreciate your efforts, but the regular show goers don't really appreciate, or want to understand the VIP or even Lexus scene. I've had many PM's stating the show goers really want the "rice" at the shows. Sorry to generalize, but we've had a lot of negative feedback from last year. I think many of the regulars drive Civics and Caveliers and look at us as snobs, which we're not. I'm just guaging on the feedback we got last year......

Is this show being combined with the Funk Master Flex car and bike show this year? It's too early for me to commit to any show this year but I would like to come out if my car is ready.

Just because a couple people don't like something doesn't mean it reflects the whole crowd. I am sure there are tons of people there that hate Mustangs but that isn't stopping them from showing and having a great time. It's not like they threw eggs at you guys.

It's one thing to decide to not go to a car show and another to tell people to not go. That makes the East coast vip guys sound like elitist's. What car show around here is "vip friendly?" It is just about having a good time. Sooner or later, they will get it. If not, who cares?

Most poeple i know that are in the jdm scene (mostly jdm style honda/nissan/toyota guys) love vip style but choose to just stick to what they can afford or what is still too fun for them to give up on.
but with out a doubt most will appreciate the opportunity to see a vip car up close which is not a common type of style to see in the north east.

Unless you talking about the real ricers with the big wings and body kits those are the type's that wouldn't like VIP cars since its too simple and clean for them to understand they like too see extreme paints crazy conversions huge rims and tons of light all over the car.

When the ricer looks at a vip car they think rap video and dub they cant tell the difference as they are simply too ignorant.

I know because I was one of each went from ricer to jdm'er and surrounded my self around these close minded type of kids as I was growing up.

But I guess I was lucky enough to think outside the box and always had an interest in other types of automotive scene's VIP being one of my favorites but didnt go for it till a few years later after racing tickets runing from police and almost loosing my life thats when I decided to switch it up.

I agree with the statements above. Not everyone loves everything, but in time everything has it place. I'm just hoping P&S is the place for the VIP guys to have fun for a couple days and make new friends.

As for P&S and Funk Master Flex...he is not coming to the show. I talked with him in great length over the past few years, but it wasn't in the budget to bring him on board in 2009. He did announce he was coming before he and Carlisle had an agreement. You may have seen Busta Rhymes announced a concert here too, that was part of the FMF deal and also will not be happening in 2009. Sorry for any confusion.

I understand all the point that both sides are stating on this thread. I am currently living in Roanoke Va. mostly classics, muscle, and rice rolling around here. Im the only and I mean "ONLY" VIP car here.

I went to a recent charity car show this last weekend and I was in the view point of what Mark is talking about since I was the only VIP car within a handful of rice imports and to top it off the only asian person in the whole show, but I put my big boy pants on and just went with the flow. I was expecting to get harrassed by the older muscle heads and all that. To my dismay I had tons of complements and some weird looks also dont get me wrong. We just have to be nice to everyone be it those who like are style or those who critisize it. They just have to learn what its about. A majority of the time people are just confused and when you take the time to just talk to them and teach them what its about. They will start to appreciate it a little bit more.

I will be at Carlisle this year. Hopefully I see some of the other VIP cars there too.

CarlisleRich I pm'd you with some questions.

DREW - I just sent you an email. I'm sorry it's been a while since I've been on here.

The VIP Lane area will be filled by WR Team. They are a national club based out of this area. They have a lot of the top cars in the custom compact industry. At the beginning of the year I put it up on our website to vote what to put in there and I had very few responses and the best idea was when WR asked if they could have it.

Hope to see you out here this weekend!!

As for WR IN VIP Lane, that's not the case. VIP Lane the building doesn't exist this year. Each year I put something new in that building and this year it's their club.
