Toyota Crown???

Recently, I've been reading many VIP style magazines and I see many nice looking Toyota Crowns on it.  I really like the Job Design's Crown.  Can these cars be registered in US?  I know I cannot cause I live in Cali.... but maybe another state?

You can register an imported car in California. There are different ways to do it, such as registering it as a show car. The other way is that the DMV allows a small number of cars to be registered each year without needing inspection. This is how people register imported cars as well as customs. You should look into it. I wish I had more details, but I don't really have a reason to..haha

thanks for the info.  My family lives in Japan and I think I can have it shipped to US if I wanted to...... but I know the shipping is expensive.  I'll try to find out more about it and if there is a good chance I can register it, I might just get one.  thanks again!!!!

I won't say getting it registered is going to be easy, but it is possible with enough determination. Good luck and keep us posted

I thought there had to be a US version of the car being imported to have it registered? Due to crash test ratings and so forth. It seems Cali have ways around this?

just get the new m45 and squint a little. it'll be the same car. =)

I'ma agree with grant on this. If you bring it be ready to part with it! Everything from the glass not being tampered, crash testing and emissions. Even if you get it here, and find a way to register it (which it wont be legally done) as soon as its found....gone! It will get yanked right out your garage and you cant do anything about it...

they can't take it if you take the proper steps ($$$). it's the backdoor registered cars that get snatched.
