My UCF30 build

At first I didn't really care for the UL because I didn't want the fridge or air system. Wouldn't of mind  the navi but was not necessary. So I settled for the before revision. Now that I've gotten this, I'm kinda changing my mind and wanting an 04+ and also kinda wanting air for convenience of going over bumps and slopes. Would like the back up camera also and the LED tails and projector headlights. Still don't care for the fridge though. I've thought about converting it over to the after revision, but figured it's not worth it. So I guess I'll just stick with what I got.

Everybody knows what a stock LS430 looks like so I'll skip that.

18" stock rims with Tein CS

The factory air for the UL package with an aftermarket controller is not fast by any means.  It takes like 2-3 minutes to fully lift or drop your car.

The Accord actually sits a little lower then the LS, but I actually have more trouble with the LS. I can clear almost everything with the Accord. I think it's the front of the LS that's having trouble. I'll have to get pics from the front later.

That long huh. As long as I'm driving around town, I would probably be fine, since I know where my trouble spots are. It's mainly for the convince of raising it when I go on any trips, I probably wouldn't know all my trouble spots when I'm out of town. I know I can raise it on coils before a trip and lower it when I'm back, but I'm lazy like that, haha.

Nah, your rims were way more aggressive. I wish my rims were as aggressive as yours were. Once I get everthing else done, I want to move the rears to the front and go wider/bigger in the back.

So the under carriage is a lot lower then what it appears to be from the outside. From the outside, the LS appears to have more clearance then the Accord, but there's actually less clearance since the undercarriage slopes down after the front lip of the LS. So I guess its a good reason to get a kit to make it look like it sits as low as it actually does.

But next is to get the YouZealand kit to drop it some more. Also want to get the rear camber kit for the rear, which I've read somewhere around here is pretty expensive, $2500 or so? :eek2: I'm not a big fan of knockoffs, but that is one part I'd wish there was a knock off for, that amount could be used toward a new set of rims.

Ok, I've got some questions about going air and the SS Kit. The SS kit works with air, but why would you need the SS Kit when you can slam/dump it on air? My guess would be because if its slammed all the way on air, you'll blow your struts. If it used a SS kit with air, you wouldn't have to set the air ride to the lowest setting and wouldn't blow the struts. Is this correct, or is there a different reason?

you have the right idea! you can drive lower while still giving the shocks room to work

The Tein CS are a very comfortable ride, at least equal if not better than stock. It's set at the softest setting and rides real nice. Not bumpy or bouncy at all. It'll go just a little lower in the front, and the back I believe is all the way down maybe one or two threads left (don't remember). At the softest setting and current height, the tires will rub the fenders if you hit any bumps  or dips doing 20mph.

Based on what I've read, the Tein CS is the best comfort wise, but probably the worst for slamming/dumping. I've read that the JIC or HKS would be a better choice for slamming/dumping, but you'll be trading in comfort. So depends on what you want, slammed/dumped or comfort. I can't really speak from experience for the JIC or HKS as I haven't tried those.

I got the Tein's cus they were already on the car, and I helped put them in so I know they weren't blown and fairly new still. Also, I didn't have to wait for new coilovers to come in or help take them out again so I just took those. I'm planning on getting the SS Pro kit, which I was just about to get last week until ........ well .... (thats another story) .......so it'll be slammed/dumped without having to use the JIC or HKS coils. With the SS Pro kit, it'll help out with the camber also. If you want to go low, ride comfortable, and better camber, and you could afford it, I'd say go with the setup I'm going to be using. If you just want to go low and not worry about comfort or camber, then you can just get the JIC coils. If you want comfort and better camber but can't afford it right away, I'd suggest getting the SS kit first and then you could get coils later.

I'm still debating on going air. Probably the UAS since it works with tein's, JIC, HKS, or stock struts. I'd rather get air cups, but Air Force sells it as a complete system with struts and everything. The way I see it is I really don't need air except for clearance. I don't plan on driving at a high/med ride height and only dumping it for shows. I'd like to ride low and have the ability to clear bumps and dips. I also don't want air to lower it all the way when driving cus I don't want to bottom out.
If I do go air, it'll probably be another year before I do.

Oh, and another benefit of the Tein's is the EDFC because you can't reacht the top of the struts to adjustit without taking the rear seats out. This is probably the biggest benifit when going air because most people on coils don't adjust height.

These are the knock off's of the Lowenharts I got back in the days that I had on my '96 Sentra. I was like 18/19 yo back when I got these cus I couldn't afford the Lowenharts. When my Sentra got totaled before I could do an sr20 swap, I ended up giving them to my lil bro. I picked up my first MR2 as a second car before the Sentra got totaled, and it didn't fit the 2. Also, couldn't rock a knock off on an MR2. Now the parentals are riding on these now. I know they've been discontinued for a long time, but I've tried to find a set with no luck. I wonder how these would look on an LS430, if somebody could do a photochop.

Haha, I won't, I promise. What I would like to get is a second set of Work LS207 in 20's, but that's not until after other projects since it's already got one set of rims already.

OK, I've got a projector retro fit question for you guys. If retro fitting projectors, do you just need the lens or the back bowl (whatever you call it/back half) too? What I'm asking is what makes the projectors projectors? Does the complete housing make it a projector? Or can you attach the spherical projector lens onto a nonprojector bowl to make it projectors? I know, to make it optimal, its best to use the complete housing, but just wondering if attaching just the projector lens onto a regular housing will produce better lighting?

The window curtains that you order are too short to cover the complete side windows.  So I was wondering if anybody knows where to just buy the plastic rails for the curtains so that I can make a custom set that spans the entire length of the side windows?

You need to buy van curtains..it's what I had to do for my Jag since I have the long wheel base model with the uber long rear doors.

For the projectors to be worthwhile, you need the whole projector part...not the whole headlight housing, but you do need more than just the glass.  You need this:

I figured for the best results to get the whole projector unit, just wasn't sure if there was any benefit to just using the lens besides the look.  Now I just have to find a pair of good 01 headlights to mess around with.

Hey guys, I need some help on doing custom curtains. All the curtains are made are too short to cover the whole window of the LS430. I've been told that van curtains will work, but I don't see any van curtains listed on the vendor sites. Anybody know who carries van curtains. Also does anybody know where to get extra long rails and clips to make custom curtains?
