Fender Modding

Was going to put this in the exterior section but figured all could benefit.

So I have some wheels that are coming in, somewhat aggressive. 

Background
1 - I will need to have the fenders of my 2GS shaved and pulled.
2 - Will be running air suspension by the time the wheels get in
3 - Want to only run about 4degrees of negative camber

What are the step that I should do? How can I make sure I get perfect fitment (with 4degrees of camber) if the wheels won't fit beforehand. My wheels won't fit under the fender at ride hieght so how can I align it properly?

I don't like the whole make my wheels fit the car trick, I like the car to fit the wheels, but I know that takes a little more planning.

I know I probably am not asking the right questions, or the right order, but I hope you guys get the idea. There's a bunch of guys here with some SERIOUS fitment, so how you can help

Post questions or comments here, ask me stupid questions, I don't care, flame me.  As long as I can have as much info to get it right the first time.

1. Install Air Suspension... 
2. Cut the rear inner fender lip... 
3. Get an Alignment and set the camber you want to roll with... at theorethical ride height... 
4. Install the New Wheels and Tires and measure how much more pull you'll need to get the look you're looking for... 
5. Pull with a fender roller and a heat gun... 
6. Check Alignment and adjust camber as neccessary...
 
 
Chris... if you post the wheel widths and offsets... Experienced people here with 2nd Gen GS' will be able to tell you with a very good level of certainty what you need to do or what you should expect to do...

sounds good.  since my current wheel set up can tuck in by just a few mm's without any fender mods, can I set my alignment before I bring the car in the shop? and they go from there?

To have my fenders modded of course.  I am not doing it myself!

take it to the shop with the NEW WHEELS already mounted.... New Suspension INSTALLED... and alignment set... then have the BODY SHOP do their thing... :biggthumpup:

roll and pull the fenders first, otherwise risk shitty looking rippled fenders from lack of material thickness.

You can always go back and cut, but you can't add that material back.

The wheels wont fit under a fender without modification at that little of camber.  I still have the lip on the inside of the fender.  That is the problem.

1. set a camber with current wheels... 
 
2. Raise Car with AIR
 
3. Drive slow 4x4 to body shop
 
4. Let Body shop mold fenders to your specified ride height around new wheels

sounds good.  glad the body shop is around the block from my house

cut th fenders and install your air, and go from there.
