Buddy buying a GS300

So here is the craigslist ad:

Interior:
7/10 - Burn mark on one of the a pillars, leather is worn on center console arm rest, paint on some of the buttons on the center console is worn, looks like a buffer burn on the back seat, seats have no tears but show typical wear. Shifter shows wear (discoloration)

Exterior 7/10
driver door has door cap pulling away on one corner, gap between headlight and bumper is larger on one side (may note a minor accident never reported - clean carfax)
chips here and there but no dents, passenger fender has 1/4in gash will need to be repaired as the paint is start to bubble around it.

Motor looks good but 156k miles 2jZ-GE VVT-i

Car drove well shifted well feels pretty sound.

Lady wants $5000 for the car.

The milage worried me but another friend has an IS300 motor that he says he can swap for practically nothing. And the cosmetic defects makes me want to tell my buddy to pass but I don't know the market for GS's.

Definitely a good price.  I would check on the maintenance history.  Timing belt/water pump etc...  

I would say if he can get it checked out it would be best.  I'm assuming it would need brakes.  Also check the lower ball joints and tie-rod ends just to be safe.

ill buy it for 4g's. leatherseats.com in a CL groupbuy is 620 (something like that), door caps a little hard to find cheap. the front bumper aint nothing. thats a pretty good deal IMO
