re-chroming the chrome accents of a Y33

notice the dated and faded chrome accents on the front bumper, have any of you attempted to restore it to a "like new" finish ?

probably just needs to be cleaned up with some good chrome polish. or just buy new ones. parts here are pretty damn cheap. if i can remember i got quoted at a local infiniti dealer for ALL chrome trim for 1300. i check it here on this site and it came out to 700

youd be suprised what a good quality cleaner/polish can do. Diamond Brite availalbe at lowe's is awesome!

I used the Meguiar's NXT Gen metal polish on all of my trim and it restored them to like new, no need for replacement.

mirrachrome is good stuff, but it's actually paint... so it's mostly used to "chrome" items that usually can't be chrome-plated... mostly plastic items. Can't say for sure on the Y33s, but if their spear trim is also made of stainless, you can easily buff it back out to its original shine... mask the surrounding areas with strips of tape and go to town with a wheel on a drill, or even give the flitz or mother's power ball thing a whirl with some fine compound and you'll be golden
