Junction Produce BBK
Does anybody have more information on these? I saw on a website that they retail for $7800 front and rear, which really isn't that bad of a price.t

Not that bad? I have to disagree.
I could reproduce those using Wilwood calipers and rotors for that application (or make brackets to adapt if they're not offered) and weld an extra piece of aluminum over the front with "Junction Produce" engraved, and then powdercoated any color for half that price.

yeah, you could get somthing silmilar, maybe even better, cheaper. no you could (should) not recreate it. if you don't care enough to pay for the name then you sure as hell shouldn't care enough to knock it off.
as far as vip rebranded bbk's it actually is reasonable. other cost about that front or rear.
that being said, unless you are building a company car (i.e. jp everything) what's the point?

Well, i have 6 piston front and 4 piston rear GREX BBK on my G35 and that retails for around $6400. I'm not going to fake the funk if I do get a BBK for the next project whatever it may be.

from what ive been told these are rebadged Rotora's they are made by the same company and have the same stopping power but for Rotora's you can probably get them for a couple thousand cheaper.. your paying for the name.
but i have to admit they are beautiful!

oh man... they do look exactly like rotoras. if that's the case i wouldn't buy them at all... jp car or not. i don't know why but rotora just doen't do it for me. if they were endless like aimgain or mp i could see it, or just about any oher reputable brand...
no good reason, just personal bias.

Nothing really wrong with Rotoras. A lot of BBKs "look" the same. Just like a lot of intakes look the same and brake pads look the same.
Even though it's not confirmed, I still would probably buy the JP ones.

What's the going rate for most "VIP" brand name BBKs? Like 8K for a complete set? I thought I was looking at the mode parfume ones on a site and they were around 7K as well front and rear.

yeah... looks like you're right. june 08 vipcar had a bbk special and without reading too much into what's included the prices of the branded ones seem to fall in the 6-8k range.

The Kranze Brakes are 10g's for rebadged endless brakes.
To some, a VIP car must have a BBK or it is not complete. Personally, I don't think it is needed unless your wheels expose the calipers. If thats the case and you don't have a BBK then it will look silly.

I wasn't saying I was actually going to do it, just that it would be easy and you could go custom and put any logo of your choice, like an Infiniti/Lexus logo on it and it would look better. The plain font of the Junction Produce across there kind of makes it look cheap IMO. Wilwood is a very respected manufacturer of brakes just as Endless, etc. Paying $3k extra to have a name stamped on the caliper is not baller, it's bordering on just plain dumb...especially when the other options out there are just as good if not better (or the same damn thing).

I agree with this statement completely...if you can't see the calipers, then keep the stockers and run a more aggressive wheel. If the calipers are going to show...BBK is a must.

From a functional point of view, yes that's totally true. If I wear a Hanes T-shirt that cost me $5 that I wear to mow the lawn, why would i want to spend $100 on an designer, fashion T-shirt for the same damn thing.

VIP doesn't make sense. If you try to use logic, you will have a hard time building a vip car. There is so much more to it then stance and fitment. Being a brand ***** is apart of the culture. Not saying it is always right and should always be followed but it is what it is.

I think it's all about vision. You see all the examples of VIP cars from Japan and envision your build based upon the Japanese interpretation of what VIP is. If it means putting curtains on your windows, tables on your dash, or aggressive dish wheels on your ride to create that vision, then that's all that matters to the individual.

brand w***e goes 2 ways. you can rock everything vip branded or you can rock the actual brands that get rebranded (or better). the orginals get more respect from me personally.
that being said i'm not gonna hate on someone else's decision.
if i were to clown it wouldn't be: "you paid $8k for rebadged rotoras", it would be: "you bought rotoras".
same thing doesn't apply to other brands that rebadge better parts.

Most of the VIP guys in Japan go off of the appearance of the caliper and the prestigue in the name brand that's stamped on it. If you have a Mode Parfume kit, it would make more sense from a VIP stand point to get Mode Parfume re-badged endless brakes then it would to get the normal endless brakes.

For me, I personally have a lot of JP stuff on the GS left. When it came time to addressing my brake kit, at the time I had my heart set on the Endless kit. If I fast-forward that to today, could I of spent the money needed to get the JP kit? Probably not? For me, my Endless Kit was what I really wanted. The only person I needed to impress was myself. The JP kit does look pretty sick tho.

12 pot is over kill IMO. AMG S65's only come with 6 pot. I'm saying only because that car has over 600hp and weighs over 4400 pounds. It's not the number or pistons, its the size of them that matters.

What I am trying to convey is that if you can buy the same exact thing that is as good in both quality AND reputation for thousands less, you WOULD be dumb because that money can go to further the cause and make the car that much better all around...be it a kit, better wheels, etc.

I have to say that they do look good rebranded or not but since I'm VIP I would do something ridicioulous and have my personal nickname or my car nickname engraved on them rather then a company. That way it would be like "well your says _____, but my bbk has my name, damn thats VIP!!"

If it's just about looks, then it's just opinions. If it's about performance, quality and reliability, how many of us here are truly qualified to say that rotora are worse than others? I spent three hours interviewing a brake engineer about braking systems and brands, and I still can't say that I am qualified. If I have questions I just call him up. For me, I'll stick to these little guys.

Oh, and in case anyone is wondering, the Brembo GTR:
"Exclusivity for the Few
The Brembo GTR kit is not for everybody. It takes a special enthusiast to understands the small differences that give you just that bit of extra performance advantage. Additionally, GTR kits are in limited supply, especially during the race season. Additionally, a GTR kit requires more involvement and understanding on the owners part.
A complete GTR kit (front/rear) starts at $14,995 MSRP and it goes up from there, depending on application. Lead time for a GTR kit is approximately 4-6 weeks. A 50%, non-refundable deposit is required for ordering a GTR system."

Looks good marksport, I used to have the red Brembo Gran Turismo kit on my G35, but sold it to a friend to put on his S14. Awesome kit that I got for a steal.

I don't like the fact that Brembo doesn't make a rear kit for the F50, I ended up having to find a rear kit with the correct piston sizes and have new hats and adapters/knuckles machined. At the time I was looking for a BBK, only Brembo had a kit. Soon after, everyone else made a kit.

w220 s65's came with an 8-pot made by brembo setup, with a 390mm (~15.4") rotor. mercedes calls it a "composite" rotor, but it's really just a 2pc rotor, like every other aftermarket brake manufacturers'.
w221's come with something else entirely -- i think it's a twin piston sliding setup, but i'm not sure what the rotor sizes are, but they are also "composite".

Yes these are mostly for the rich or race teams. These can take extreme heat where most other street brakes will have faded long time ago. Other downside is that they need to be rebuilt more often. The stock brembo on my porsche were in perfect condition even after 22 years of use.

I'd be interested to know who actually makes the Junction BBK.
If it's Rotora, that would be too bad. Rotora is the iForged of the BBK world.

Where can this be confirmed? Is it just hearsay?
