Had some free time today but didn't get to try on the front bumper. I have a feeling it will fit like a glove like the rest of the kit. Maybe some little work will be needed for the sideskirts. Everything seems to fit pretty well and the moldings holes and mounting holes were all cut out already and lined up beautifully. The thing that bothered me the most was the exhaust cut out on the rear bumper. It is moved from the original stock position to more left. I'm going to have to sell my exhaust now and go custom. Right now just driving around with no muffler. Not loud at all. Just alittle V8 rumble yet still quiet at cruising. Anyways enjoy.

Moldings were not included and got them seperately. I got them used and have alot of scratches and marks. Does anyone know if I get that vacuum whatever rechroming thing that it'll come out like stock or better? If possible get my side moldings also chromed to match?
While I got the moldings I also got the trunk molding piece above the license plate.
Everything was thanks to PGmotoring.

I can't wait to see it painted. Vacuum chroming is not cheap. I have been quoted over $200 for small interior pieces.

The chrome pieces are pretty jacked up. Going to either rechrome them or just sand and paint them body color. Not sure what I'm going to do. The front moldings are actually in good condition. Rears not so good. Sides are USM stock body color. I'm just lost on what to do with them

hm, thought i posted in here already but guess not.
anyway jds is nice
and i also second that u redo the chrome. i cant really imagine the rear bumper strip being painted body color...it wraps the whole bumper. it would look like a bumper car/economy rental or something. if u dont wannt f*ck with the chrome then maybe get those areas filled in like widebodyq. i would have done that if i didnt like the front chrome so much. the full rear bumper chrome took some getting used to for me.
test fit your foglights before you put on the kit :pat: they may or may not fit :pat: mp didnt.

Lookin good. did you do any modding to the kit for fitment? I know some folks like a tighter fitment.

Today I went to a place that does chroming and vacuum metallizing. The price was just too ridiculus just like how Agi said it would be. I showed him one front left molding piece that I haven't installed on the car yet. He held it and said this one will be about $130. I was shocked. Then i looked all around the car and was like "$1000+" in my head just to chrome all the moldings. F THAT. Cheaper to order the side moldings from Japan new and the rears for about the same price. Front pair is actually pretty good shape. So to make things a whole lot cheaper I'm just going to paint the moldings and I can always change them later down the line.

I didn't buy them.... It's way too expensive for just that. Doesn't make sense to be so expensive. Another thing I want to hold off on. So they are made by Depo? Specifically for those bodykit makers? and is it off some car we just haven't figured out yet?

ACtually last night I finished putting the front bumper. I did have to make some of the mounting holes bigger but very minimal. This gave alittle tighter fitment between fender and bumper. Everything fit pretty decently. However the right side skirt is touching the front door when closing. You can tell when you close the door it doesn't sound right and the obvious fact that there is a small scratch from where it is touching. I think I just need to undo the bolts and push alittle down or do some very minor adjustments. .

my bad, on closer inspection off of autofashions site, the jds kit looks like it uses a different fog. kind of hard to tell from that picture. i thought it did before because jds styling is similar to aimgain and they use the same fogs as i have.
and oh my lord 130 for 1 piece??for that price id polish it up real nice, stick that piece sideways and shove it straight up his candy ass.
you can get brand new jdm nissan pieces for 600-1000. that is a big price to pay for chrome though, plastic chrome at that. i mos def wouldnt be able to bring myself to do it again if i had to...
lets see that front end! i wanna see how low it is in comparison. yours looks like similar height as the jp kit. hope its not too low cause u got coils >.< gangsta

I'll take pics tomorrow. Had to run around everywhere today. Got any good source for getting new OEM moldings? I think I just need the sides and rear. Fronts like I said I can live with.
I'm not sure exactly how much lower it is then stock. I'd say about 1~1.5inches lower. This is just the front bumper. Sides seem to be an inch or less lower and the rear I have no idea. Just not really liking the exhaust cutout part and location of the cut.

Looks nice. Although the chrome moldings look sick, you got chrome rims and door pillars so it might be over kill. In this case, I think body colored moldings would look better.

That's not what I did. I choose to modify my stock bumper instead of getting the JDM one because the the JDM bumpers end too early. They are too short IMO. I just filled in the exhaust cutout to go with the euro theame I was working with.

I actually like the moldings...OEM USM and the JDM ones. Gives the car more character. For sure I'm going to paint them..
I'm getting alot of looks...I think because people are confused what the car is since no ones seen it before. I had a guy in a miata driving in my 1-2 O-clock position and had his head turn all the way left as if he was backing up his car.

i have a similar, but slightly different opinion. i think with the wheels you have the body molding should be color matched but the pillars should be taken off as well. if you had a more luxury style wheel (dish) then the moldings and pillars would be better chrome imo.

Thanks for your opinion. I can understand how you could see it that way but I'm opposite. I think the pillars look great because the surrounding trim around the windows are also stainless/metal. Making it match better. When cars don't have the surrounding stainless like metal around the window trims then it just does not match at all. I think the whole chrome moldings would totally match the pillars/window trim/grill/mascot/rims. But like Agi said and I also think that it would be abit too much chrome and look tacky if I do get full chrome moldings.
My side note opinion:
I REALLY hate chrome door handle surround pieces. If it is just the actual door handle itself then it looks fine. I've seen some 2nd gen GS with it and I hate it. Stock looked better. I think they even make those chrome pieces for GM/Chevy trucks/suvs..I've seen them. Super tacky.

I like the JDM chrome trim and think it looks great. I think a subtle chrome accent like that but if there is to much chrome it can be a little overkill. On your car you might want to think about having a paint shop do them body color except for athe very top or bottom and that might look good. But do what ever you think looks good and make you happy. Another thing you might want to look into is filling them in so you dont have the holes and your bumpers will be nice and smooth you could also do the doors get that really clean look that a lot of people love. Cant wait to see what you end up doing and see this painted and installed. I have a Q that looks similar to your color and I'm thinking about getting a kit, not a jds so it'll be a little different but still get an idea of how a kit looks in our color instead of black or white.

I think some posts dissapeared last night?
Anyway the really transforms the car! Can't wait to see how it turns out.
The price is crazy for the moldings so painting them does make sense since you have some used ones.

ok....just finished. Moldings were painted. Mirrors were repainted body color. Went through the machine car wash since it was dusty. It was a pretty expensive paint job...anyways it was worth it.

Trims I can live with...later down the road if I feel like putting chrome then I have the option too.

i bet the fogs are nothing but over priced Merc lights. if u do your research i bet you can buy the fogs at ebay for more than half that price.
the rims you got are dope already...cant wait to see what you got next.

Loving it. The colormatched trim does flow nicely on there.

i started looking to see what it could it possible be. I was thinking maybe the 1st gen IS300...I was thinking the japanese would do it economically with whats available and thought they would most likely get it from another nissan or toyota...me thinking most likely toyota.

I like it a lot! I can't wait to see which wheels you got. I actually like the trim the way it is, but I think the chrome pillars have got to go! They are distracting now.

Hey Blitz, how much negative camber have you added to the back and do you have any abnormal tireware.
Never mind the camber, I saw your forsale thread, how is the treadware

I love the chrome pillars... the 300C and magnum or whatever cars ruined the style. Including myself started to think it was one of those cheap Kragen/Autozone accessories. I like them...only on my car. I'll consider it but they are on there pretty damn good. The whole thing was double side 3M.
BTW they are stainless steel "supposedly" bought from that burtman industry guy.

The back I maxed out the stock adjustment bolt at ride height with as dumped I can go on these coilovers. Honestly I think I can dump it more if I remove the adjustment collars but don't want to attempt that. Here is where it sucked being that low. Once a week sometimes more I go get supplies for work. I use my car and when I load up my trunk and back seats my car is slammed. Rim itself is almost tucking. However because I drove that low the tires ate away REAL fast. I started noticing like layers of black dust on my lips. They would collect from moisture every morning and kind of clump up. I thought it was just road dust but turns out it was the tire rubber dust. I guess driving that dumped the alignment just goes totally out of wack. I'm thinking major toe-in and more camber. If you examine how the rear suspension works the lower you go the more it toes in. It's all suspension geometry. That is also another reason I raised it up. I'm no suspension guru but I'm pretty sure this is whats been going on.
