i just started playing gt4 again as well as lowrider. i'm only 34% through gt4 at the moment.

Hey man thx for posting up! I know of two other local members that play as well. I'm surprised that there isn't more, but maybe there arn't many gamers in this scene...? So what do you know about GT4?

I played GT alot as well. I am not a fan of four though. The dynamics seem a bit over the top. With Braking and handling. I still think 3 was the best designed.

I wish they would release the full version of 5 already.

it's actually my 4th or 5th time playing gt4. i realize it's more realistic than most racing games out there but it would be nice if they actually changed the appearance of the car when you added parts to it and if there was an option to plus size your wheels. most of the stock wheels in that game are smaller in appearance than in real life. for instance, i bought the 91 aristo and the wheels look like 14's. only when i bought the racing tires for it the wheels looked like 16's.

i wouldn't exactly call myself a gamer, i just like car/racing games for the PS. i also play tokyo xtreme racer 3 and drift, i have shutokou battle for my psp, lowrider (extremely fun, i'm using a 61 impala in that). i don't have a ps3 just yet but i'll probably get one when gt5 is out. prologue is out but i'm hearing mixed reviews on it.

Is probably one of my favorites other than GT Series

I love the drift dynamics in TND..way better than american released version IMO! OUr versions of drift has the car already drifiting when turning which is gay. That game gives you a force feeling, plus a better feel for speed/intertia.
 
As far as GT4, we always come up w/ ideas that it could be better (car damage, physical attributing), but as it stands has excellent racing dynamics. Tuning the car makes a great difference. We don't do boost/catchup, always meet at the line and go @ .10sec, will vary from 1-3 laps, plus tire wear. I remove the music and all the distractions you dont need to know (track time, lap, map, inertia gauge). If you give it a chance, it far exceeds part 3 IMO.

gt4 is the best game.....i challange anybody out there to a lap time challange....i wish we could race online..but the honor system works...pics even work better.......
and there has to be hp limits so the cars can match up.....

I love GT4 so much. I'm really enjoyed Forza, but I still go back to GT4. I'm willing to play in a Time Attack. I'm not very good, but it's something to do!

errrrrrr i dont even have my ps2 at the house I let the family borrow it....but not the game and memory card...lol..lets go basic for now and race midfield backwards.... the [B]car class[/B] anything under 500 hp , what ever drive train......post your time.....

I haven't played gt4 or any gt game in a long time I might have to get back into them soon

When I was a gamer, this was definitely one of the games I used to play a lot.  Come to think of it, I still have the Logitech wheel that does 900°.

I wish my ps2 worked, all i played was GT4. I would build cars then just drag race em, quickest car i ever built was the R34.

I used that one tactic where you race on the island and win the Rally Toyota and sell it for a guap of money.

I love the whole GT series but I never picked up 4.  I can't play a car game for more then 30-45 minutes a day.  I get bored quick.  The only game that stays in my xbox 360 is nba2k9.  I havn't put it down since the day it was released.

Does GT4 show power/weight ratio of vehicles? That would be a better means of restriction than horsepower IMO...

Yes it does, when you go to arcade mode > multiple player > Garage > dropdown. I know what you mean in terms of power to weight and agree that would make for a better compairson. Updated!

So far with a turbo S2000  at 439hp 1.16.9

i'm a big GT fan...

I used to play that when i was in highschool (the first one). Got my appetite wet for Suspension works. Ended up going to work for a racing team. They couldnt understand why i knew so much about Suspension tuning (I never said anything about Gran Turismo though) LOL!

I haven't touched it in YEARS but lately people have been playing...

I'm big on taking some Bum-Ass car and tuning it to the ragged edge of perfection in handling and balance. and beating my best laptimes with some of the best cars i liked to drive...

I had some times that I was looking to beat on Nurburgring, Set down my GS300 and get to work. 

i think i was finally able to come out of nurburgring with a 7:45 or a 7:43 with my GS300 after tuning the Balance to beyond reason. (that was with maybe 390hp and no weight reduction and medium grade racing tires...not super soft...)

against my friend's more powerful cars, mine would get beat....badly so i only raced it when they brought out something OTHER than a Skyline/Supra. but I enjoyed racing the clock more.

I'm down for a Time Attack...

Let me know the ground rules and I'll hook the PS2 up again and maybe we can have some fun!

No nitrous it understeers for those long corners. use nitrous in the tight corners for oversteer...no Lotus Carlton then. lol

What's the tire limitations?
