Silver CF and Painted Interior

One common problem with JZS147's is that the wood grain likes to chip off. Well instead of getting another wood grain piece around the shifter, I decided to do a custom silver carbon fiber one. Then my buddy helped me paint the rest of the center console pieces BMW black. This totally changed the look of the interior! Within the next few weeks, I hope to finish off all door switches in the silver cf as well.

It's really hard to get a picture of the silver metallic in the paint, but I will try again later.

Good work!!! Weave looks straight and flat.

Wow, i'm digging it. Definitely gives the interior a very updated / sporty look.

I think it would look even better if you had black interior and maybe a custom shift knob / steering wheel.

It's great to see carbon fiber in VIP car interiors. Not necessary the traditional black weave but definitely the cool stuff like silver and red/black ect...

Seriously when you stop and think about it; a hand laid, hand sanded, and hand polished piece of carbon fiber is pretty damn up there on list of baller interior trim treatments.

Most likely I'm going to leave the interior gray and just work on that since I already have a dark gray suede headliner. Shift knob and steering wheel are definitely on the drawing board...:)

Thanks man, I really appreciate that! I've always loved doing stuff a little "out of the ordinary" and doing something custom. Also great to hear from someone who knows the long process of working with carbon.

How I did the carbon fiber? Green Grundel pretty much summarized it. You take your piece, lay out the carbon, resin it, sand it, sand it some more, and then clear coat. I've seen a few tutorials floating around on how to do it exactly if you are interested.

i like the piano black and the silver cf. i only like it cause u did it well and looks proper. like grundel said its all hand done and is pretty baller if done right, which you did. congrats :biggthumpup: cant wait to see the rest. 
i always wanted to lay cf on interior trim, but havent owned a sporty enough car yet.

This is a great DIY and shows you how to cut the pieces so it will wrap the right way.
