is it the rubber bead lining? Move it and see if the actual bead cord is ripped, not the bead lining. Take some pic's of the actual bead cord (move the ripped part out of the way)

had exactly same rip on my old tires.it dropped by 10psi every 2 weeks so was drivable.
aslong as you keep looking after it you will be fine, and watch those pot holes:)

i have a tire mounted now that the dumb ass ripped the rubber by mounting on the tire backwards then could not get it back off, finally mounted it and its still holding air, 6 yrs later. (the shop marred up the lip and the damage to the tire so it was replaced i know have a full size spare)
