Necessary to remove caliper to roll front fender?

I rolled my fronts this morning but I couldn't for the life of me get the 2 bolts that hold my calipers off so I just rolled what I could. Do I need to go back, remove the caliper and finish the rest? I got it rolled to about the 10:30 position. Oh ya, I used the Eastwood fender roller.

i used the same roller and ran into the same problem. I ended up using a wheel spacer to kick the roller out so that way i didnt have to take the caliper off. just a suggestion......

if you have a spacer, it will make your job a lot easier

Any idea what size spacer is necessary?

 what's the offset of your wheel? if you want to buy spacers soley for properly rolling your fenders i wouldn't. I'd simply remove the caliper if need be.

yeah... the Eastwood Fender Roller has a Super Low Disk :innoutrofl2: needs spacer in the front... :smiley-rofl:
 
I say that you'll need at least a 25mm spacer with the bolts pressed in... some spacer companies call it a Version II.

I already had 25mm spacers on my G50 but if I didn't that eastwood roller would have caused problems for me too.

just curoius what is the spacer for? Doesn't the eastwood roller have an extension?

we are referring to the spacers to make wheels a lower offset.  the eastwood doesn't have the ability to space itself out that I am aware of.

Thanks for the info guys. I just took it to my local shop and had them remove the calipers so I could finish rolling it.

taking off the caliper is usually 2 bolts anyway, not that big of a deal.

yeah, i wouldnt have taken it to a shop JUST to remove the calipers :uh:

you don't even have to take them off the car, just unbolt 2 bolts, remove the pads (before) and use a piece of string to tie the caliper to the UCA, so you don't stress the brake line.

hope you didnt have to pay much for your local shop to remove and re-install the calipers.

Maybe $10. Did it during an oil change.
