did i get hustled ...??

ok....lets start here the paint he told me it will take a one week to do body work and paint on my car...So being a nice guy i gave him 2 weeks just beacuse I didnt want them to rush....So not even 30 hrs pass and he calls and tells me my car is done....(that was fast) so i went in the check it out and off bat i could tell its not cadiliac White pearl its just plan White....and when i get up to it i dont see any color changing blue to gold pearl that i bought and gave the painter to put into the paint.....its just white and the body work isnt even 80%...so the guy tells me to come back after work today and the paint has to dry all the way and "do its thing" and i'll see the color change and "pearl white color appear...im so interested in seeing how this is going to work out ....so paint guys would i see an color change in the white if pearl was added to it..?

its hard if theres no lighting. pearls work best in fluorescent or natural sun lighting. take a flashlight with you, preferably not led cause that doesnt show the true colors. 
it sounds sketchy to me already lol. if it took 30 hours then....you got a team of super painters... or u got hustled.:shrug: it happens. just dont sign for it the way it is demand to have whatever fixed cause once its signed and paid for and leaves the shop its hard to get them to touch up mistakes etc. cause they got paid already and dont wanna hassle with re-do's cause its more work than the first job

I hear stuff like this all the time.  Some times the only way to get what you want is to be a dick even if it means going out of your characther to be one lol.  I hope it works out for you and you get what you agreed on

i painted my own kit and we could see the pearl instantly under fluorescent  light and sunlight with no problem...i see your in the so cal/san diego area, what shop painted it?

whats this dudes name?? is it ramon?? sounds like a situation that happened to me. suppose to get 2 stage and got one stage that didnt even dry. he wasnt working up in OS, but i know he lives in vista. could be f'n over peeps over there. let me know

It was funny the manager called me today and he was like " your cars done"
It was like you fixed all the issues already...WOW that was fast so I gave him the run down and he went to check it out and call me back...i havent heard from him been a few hours...

was this shop recommended?   how did you find the place?  Seen other cars?

I saw other cars and they job was pretty good....but i guess i really didnt look over it 100%...

going with the consensus. did you already pay for the work. If not don't pay for until they get it right.

if they pull that tell them you going to the BAR and the BBB about the situation...they will shut up real quick

^+1 or go to the automotive repair board, or just threaten to get legal representation if the try to screw you ...... how much was this supposed paint job?

haha. im could imagine thinking "yeah my car will be done in two weeks" and before you even finish that thought the phone rings "pick your shit up we're done" haha. like wtf?!? which would only be good if they did good. but.... sounds like that's not the case. hope it all works out for you.

Watch them put some glitter in some generic white paint and tell you its Cadillac pearl.

I just talked to my boy, and it looks like the shop is reniggin on the org. contract, and sayin in order to achieve the right pearl, he needs to dump $200 more into the job. Tryin to pull the "oh in order to do this" after they already quoted and set the cost for Mar (Mr. Kidd) and started paintin the car....sorry to hear this man..

lol @ 30 hours.. youre gettin scammed with a shitty paint job. even a week is really quick IMO.

Yeah it looks like i'll be going to court....that really sucks because i'll be moving in a month....!!! so that means i can drive down here for my court date...So does anybody no if I can have a friend go in my place....?

Both those organizations work against the business owner. Specifically, the Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) is a good idea if the shop doesn't try to resolve your issues. I would document all communication with this shop. But I would wait to see what they say first before reporting anything.

agreed, going to court should be the last option...and being the bigger guy to see if the shop will work w/ you might give you more value....
