just curious how can it be done... because looking at all those hot VIP wheels is driving me crazy!
I keep seeing PCD Changing spacers on Yahoo auctions. That would do ya i think 23,000 yen from memory
What is your pcd? 5x112? If it is then those T3 ones wont work. Youll have to get some custom ones made most likely. There are many old school hot rod shops that will make something like that for you. I think i might have a number for a place that can do it for you. :laugh:
my frineds shop can have adapters drilled for you, they do csot between $250-$300. the only down fall is that its about an 1.25'' thick. i would rather order a custom work euroline with 1.25'' of more lip. the spacer will bolt on to your disk and then you can bolt a 5.114 wheels to the studs that are on the spacer/adapter.
my pcd is 5X120.. that is why BMWs are boring when it comes to wheel choices about work wheels... I really do not know if it will cost a lot more for custom pcd and might end up a wheel I could not sell used as far as I know BMW folks generally do not appreciated this kind of styling I was thinking about buying used VIP wheels in the future so that is why I wanted to ask these questions thanks for the replies :)
I think I read at one point on work's website that custom bolt patterns were only an extra $40 per wheel. If you can't afford that something is terribly wrong. Just do it right instead of getting adapters.
custom drilled pcd work wheels are only an extra 40 bucks/per... but it also depends on the wheel model. And it also depends on who is getting the wheels for you... if it's someone who can have some pull at work, they will be more willing to do custom pcd on even some wheels where they don't list that as an option, otherwise they'll just tell you, too bad that's all the pcd we have, and you're sorta on your own on trying to redrill the wheels yourself (see other thread on here), or run adapters. I believe BMWs use wheel bolts, not studs/lug nuts, right? If so, you can actually get away with a much thinner adapter/pcd changer. prob somewhere in the vicinity of 18-20mm... so that's not so bad a loss of offset actually. But first/best choice is still to custom order a wheel made to spec, and if you can't order that wheel in your fitment, or you have a used wheel you want to run, then go with an adapter

The adapters would be more than paying the extra 40 for custom bolt patterns.
so i was wondering... I found a H&R pcd conversion spacer that is 5 x 114.3 to 5x 120 maybe I can reverse mount it to make the bimmer to adopt to 5 x114.3 wheels? will it work that way?
Take the radiator cap off your Bimmer and park a new Nissan under it.

by the way... will re-drilling the wheel's P.C.D. to 5x120 work in this case? some one else suggested this solution to me on other forum are there any risks or cases of impossible conversion due to the issue of structal integrity? thanks again guys most of you have been great help

We have had blanks (undrilled wheels/no holes) drilled to whatever we wanted...and also bore increased.
thanks... perhaps re-drilling would be the right solution to my problem since I value the deepness of wheels greatly
most of the time you can have the wheel drilled out and new slugs pressed in to change the bolt pattern
so I just found a shop in TW that can hook me up with custom PCD conversion spacers the thing is... they are 20mm thick and as far as I know the lowest offset being run on these bmws are ET15 (8.5J) front ET18 (9.5J) rear so does that mean I can run ET35 front and ET38 rear without any problems after I got those spacers installed? thanks guys!
oh yeah, your car uses wheel bolts, not studs huh? If that is the case... well, in either case... you will need to make sure the mounting pad of your wheel will have pockets in it in case it needs to clear any protrusion beyond the surface of the adapter. I would also think you could actually run offsets lower than 15/18 you listed.. I assume you will be rolling your fenders flat anyway... so you could potentially run wheels with static offsets in the low 30s to high 20s with those adapters
cool, thanks again one ton! yeah the bolt issue... i'll talk to the guy about it hopefully the final product still come out 20mm thin I will def. roll the fenders for extra clearnce if the wheels I end up with still stick out... I 'd chamber them in!
Here is another thing you can do... convert your hub to wheel studs (they make them for bmw already, so you can just ge them and screw them into the hub) and then measure and cuz them down to 20mm past the hub, so that when you mount the adapter on, the studs do not stick past the adapters, and into the wheel. If the adapters are being custom machined, the shop should be able to make the mounting holes deep enough so that you can use a shallow lug nut, and it will just clear the adapters also. That way you can run pretty much any wheel w/o worrying about the mounting pad configuration oh btw, it's camber not chamber!
nice! that way the mounting surface of adaptor will be flush for sure I can also get these made in T7 grade aluminum so if that extra strengh helps, shaving off a few mms would be nice thanks again on ton (can't thank you enough) for the input and corrceting my use of the word camber :)
Whoops... some mis-spellings in my previous post... what I meant was to CUT the studs down to 20mm. But yah you get the point though... it's to basically try and make the studs and their attaching nuts all flush with the surface of the adapter (or even sunken if possible). It'll all be a little bit of extra work to go this route you're going... but I'm sure you knew that already!
