Opinions on ext. vinyl and stickers

Ok for the most part I have really loved my car with no sponsor stickers of any kind, no roll cal and such. I ended up obsessing about putting on a nice big Junction Produce shield in the rear window and a nice one in the front for long time but never was 100% on if it was tacky or not. Now that I have it on I am even more unsure about it. I will take pics of the test Vinyl I put on late. 

But in general what's the word in the VIP world with Vinyl stickers and such. I think it's not a very sought after thing. Maybe one or two small stickers.

I think every VIP car in every VIP magazine and in person, has some vinyl stickers on it. That said, mine are all matte black and very subtle, I love it. They look sweet and only show up in certain light. I do have small chrome WORK stickers on the front fenders, but it's more like an emblem.

Cleanliness usually doesnt come with stickers, so often they dont flow and hit the style.   It is all a choice, but if you do just make sure they flow and are clean.   My opinion personally on stickers is you should only rep it if it is a friend you're helping, or a sponsor.   Windshield banners, if you feel the need to have one, I think should be reserved for the maker of the body kit or rims.   Nothing else.  (aka no windshield sticker of Garson for proudly owning neckpads).  It is all something that comes down to personal preference, and like anything in VIP style, it comes down to how you make it work.    I personally wont rock anything besides friends and sponsors, but that is my own thoughts.   And those that I do have will be a chrome sticker with a black background, or a body color to partially hide.

My color car is hard to get if impossible in Vinyl. I have looked at allot of samples. Anyways I feel what you two are saying. I agree. I guess I had to try and a feel it out for myself before I made a choice to run them or not. 

I have ALLOT of JP interior products and allot of the JP stuff allot of people don't have or I had first in my car class. I think it;s a good test I am doing and I will see by Friday if I will keep them on or not. I think so far I will need to have them re-done but smaller. See if that works better. 

In the end I have a feeling I might just go back to how I had it before. One Chrome sticker for my club to support them and a VIPstylecom and that's it. We shall see :)

I have my car club front and rear and a few shops which hook me up.  Work is a sponsor so they're on and that's it. The matte black is the hotness though, I'm telling you! In some light, you don't even see them, it's almost too subtle, but ultra clean.

I have stickers on my car... it's all mostly sponsors but they are on because they hook me up and the least i can do is help represent the companies.

no vinyl no stickers. ew

do you have pics of black stickers on?   i really want to see it

As long as they are small and classy (no grafitti font) then its ok I guess.  The black sticker idea that Kevin suggested is a good one too if you have tinted windows because it does not bring too much attention to the sticker which is my main beef with stickers.
 
Personally, when I see a sticker on a luxury car I automatically asume a kid 22 years or younger drives the car

I got at least 1 sticker on every window of my car. 2 on the windshield, and 3 on the rear window.

The only one that doesn't flow is the huge VIP tint+glass sticker I have on the back. And the 7 little JP logos all over their stickers. 

I think its cool to rock a front and rear badge and one on the middle top of the windshield. Any more is overkill. Most of mine were put the car by JP so I left em on.

Most of you have allot more reason to put some of those stickers on than I do :) I wish I had a sponsor reason to put Work stickers on! Sheesh! I am still saving for my work wheels.

Hey post some pics guys if you will :) Give me something to work with here please. I am already prob gonna take the ones I put on off and start over. They were test knock offs anyway a friend made for me :)

PS: Decided to take them both off. they kind of suck. I think I am bored and trying to compensate. 
Here is a pic of the rear. The front is to me not worth even showing. It's just not fitting right cause the guy that made the vinyl does not understand VIPStyle and how picky we are :). It's not even put on 100% centered.

I think enough JP stuff yes, and more is coming. The logo in the front windshield seems to be too much with all the JP stuff behind it for me. Good call on the Marlboro :) Maybe benson&hedges! but I think there are less people paying attention to the Marlboro shield than it being maybe a family crest or something. 

Some guy that used to sell Lexus stopped me Monday in Montrose and asked me if my car was a special edition or did I make the car this way. Dunno if the sticker is what caught his attention first or not. I need to start asking people when they comment.

last time i ate in montrose i was sitting next to paul walker.

I live next door in La Crescenta. It's a wealthy area, quiet and the cops are bored as hell :)

they usually don;t even look twice at me in the q. but i knew better than to taje the 240 there!

Well this is my daily so no avoiding attention:)  Once I get the wheels I want and my front lip repaired the special alarm system is getting done :)

You planted the thought and I could not stop thinking about "Paul Maul" Every time I looked at my car. So I took them all off :) There goes $80 in sticker investment. But I needed to see it on the car in real time I guess. 

I will re-approach this some other time after I finish the build depending if by chance I get a sponsor or two. So far I have 0% sponsors after over $10k in mods. Thanks guys.

I run a few stickers on the GS when it was out and about. Just as long as you don't go too crazy.  However, I have seen some VIP cars in Japan that were just covered in vinyl.  If you are sponsored, you gotta do what you gotta do!

Great implementation. Gonna thank about how something like that would work for me. I would prob. need to re-tint the rear areas though fist. Been wanting it darker for a while anyways.

stickers are a must if you are sponsored. there is just no way to get around it unfortuntely and so yes i do have stickers on mine but i try not to go too overboard with it..  its really all a matter of opinion.  and if you are gonna do stickers make sure that they match your car and or atleast each other

nothing looks worse than a whole bunch of mismatched colored stickers all over the car. unless your a drifter

I'd understand if you were sponsored by JP, but why would you put their sticker on your car? I personally refuse to use my car as free market tool. I will only do custom made stickers.

Ok let me be clear. I have been proud for a long time in the fact that I had no roll call and so much $$ invested. While many in my Micro Car/ Scion "TUNER" scene just put it on to look cool or to show off the mods they have. I was like "no one is paying me or giving me free stuff or crazy discounts" :) after a while. 

However I think I have just been bored and am a Mod freak. I do at the very least one mod a month however small or large. It's a habit. So I think it was an idea that had been going through my head for a long time. I just HAD to try it out to see what it looked like to get rid of the idea and see if I really loved the look. I like the old school shield as well and since I have my own family crest it was attractive to me. 

If I loved the look I would have kept them on. But I felt they really did not represent the look I feel is what makes VIPStyle so great. So they are off the car after 48hrs.

infini, the jp crest sticker mainly clashed with the large toyota emblem directly under it.

roof vinyl is ok

I definitely prefer clean and simple, i only have a couple small stickers on my car and its just the crew stickers. none of the stickers emphasizing what mods you have or anything like that. 

like others have mentioned, its different if you're sponsored. you HAVE to have them on your car for shows, thats the whole point of sponsoring you.

i'm sponsoring myself and bringing back the roll call. race car!

Unless a company is giving me something or it is part of a sponsorship deal then I don't put stickers on my cars. 

Back in the day I would always see cars with huge roll calls on the the sides and then ask the owners about all the sponsors they had, they of course answered they had no sponsors. Never made sense to me.

Cars look best without any stickers and why advertise for a company for free?

I actually thought it looked good, sans toyota emblem, but who cares if people don't know what JP stands for.   The reaction would be the same with some D.A.D. badges and emblems.

I usually don't run stickers either (unless it's for something personal, like a "in memory of" type of sticker), but one of my friends just opened a machine shop with a CNC machine so I slapped on one of his stickers to try and help him get the name out. Just a small 3" x 3" sticker on the drivers side rear window. To each his own. I actually perfer a completely sticker/decal free car, I think it looks cleaner.

i dont mind a few if small. for the forums im on; vsc and my local one. i do have the jp on front center. but i like it their demo ucf21 looks "complete" with it.

Less is more.

Funny how some of us are de-badging and removing stuff (shaving antennas, windshield squirters, etc.) while other can't help but add stuff.
