want new wheels but ....

the wheels have some minor sets backs in making them fitt.. im already on stretch tires and i already did a rear shave for now. the front might see a roll soon.

bad: i will incur alot of  cutting of my fenders maybe, camber alot more and wear on tires, 19"  tires arnt cheap either.

Good: i love the design, one of my all time fav wheels, and i love the lip action going on.

2nd set 

Bad: lug pattern dont match so would have to run  spacer adapater but how big does it have to be?? if i run a big one im probably end up doing what i need to do to make them fit like the 1st set above. Or can i use the wobble lug nuts?

good: not many people have them. step lip and i love the design, they are 20"  and the tire cost arnt as high as 19s

the rims are both priced about the same so no deal i would rather go with the leons  bc i want a 20" rim lol but id like to have some opinions and comments from VSC. i know i will have some people giving me there 2 cents which wont be too constructive so lets hear it!

id pick the Works, b/c a lil easier fitment as far as diameter and lug pattern(and your car can be lower) and im not a fan of step lip. just bite the bullet and be a baller!

Step lips don't have to be huge in order to look sick.  I'd get the bugels.  Either way, you need to do fender work and run some crazy stretches unless you plan on driving 4x4

i was trying to call your earlier about this question  but we were playing phyone tag. But i want the bugels more. And yea i know i would be in the negatives with the adapter. that is why im looking into the variation lug nuts and i want to run 225/35 up front and a 245/35 in the back . that is what i have on my current set up

lol na no way in hell im close to them they are in cali im in houston texas :( and i would agree with you those are some the works are some of my all time fav wheels but the wheels require way to much work and time for my car to be out. this is my only car.

naw no 4x4 i want to do some more research on the variation lugs at least that way i wont be changing the offset of the wheel itself. the rear is already shaved and the front will be too if i do end up getting the wheels with the variation lugs.  I read alot of reviews with the audi/vdub guys running the wobble nuts lol that sounds funny anyways and they are having no problems


im gona look more into the variation lugs. if i cant get it to work ill more then likely stick with what i have

check this link out a guy from CL used some VL. But he used 5x112 wheels on his 5x114.3 02 Q45. so i dont think this should be too much trouble. just got to see if the lug bores have some room to play with those rims i want.

buy the bugels and have them redrilled locally. i got my spare wheel redrilled from 5x120 to 5x114 for $75. they did good work too - it looks like it came that way.

wheels america referred me to american wheel & tire [URL]http://www.americanwheelandtire.com/[/URL] and they sent them out to a machine shop. if i knew which machine shop they used i wouldve gone there directly. i dont have pics, but can take a couple if you want.

i'm about 15 minutes away if you need some help.

the second set is much much more nicer, but youll have an even harder time fitting the second set if you end up getting adapters.

u r over thinkin this shit.. just pick the one u want and do what u gotta do...
i never dealt with the wobbles but like what u said before about having enough room on the rims to play with, the leons might not work because on my ordens, everything is built very precise and tight... the lug holes r on point and very tight.... 
 
the bugels r way better for ur ride...   if u seen them in person, u would respect the quality even more... the cuts r very nice, precise and flat cut...

Second set look much more modern... not a huge fan of the design of the first set....

well let me get with the shop and see what they say i called them earlier today!

you can try asking around to see if a shop will shave the pad of the bersaglios, if you decide to go that route.

It looks like the wobble nuts can only make up 1.2mm of difference in bolt pattern. If that's the case an adapter will be necessary.
Oh ya, I'd go for the Works personally.

Personally I'd try the Bugels. I just think they look nicer and would be worth making fit.

You can use a pretty thick adaptor before you're even close to the aggressiveness of the Bersaglios anyways

id go bugels.. i love the look more and even with the adaptors it will be easier fitment than the other one with those offsets

well i just got off the phone with overdrive here in houston. im gona meet with them monday afternoon to talk about what i need and want done. i am going with bugels, we are going to discuss the wheels with an adpater, get my LBJ's done, alignment, dail in my suspension, and they will handle the buying of the bugels and shipping of my wheels to whomever buys!

i got done talking  jtrans wife and she told me they make spacer adapters as small as 5mm?? that is quite small does anyone have pix of a 5mm spacer adapter??

smallest adapter is gonna be like 13mm, so half inch. t convert.
 
variation lugs and all is used on 112 to 114 since so close together, not 120.

if u want adapters you should look them up. its not too hard to google some of this stuff youd get your answers much quicker. just a thought. ive never seen one smaller than 25mm, not that i can recall anyways.

There is a compamy in Cali that will custom make them.
 
he's making me some that are 15mm.

sometimes you have to have pockets on the back pad for stud clearance.

id imagine theyd have to be fairly deep.

i already used google the smallest i could find was 15MM and nothing smaller then that. And im not ruling redrilling out! im not ruling any options out. i want to see what the easiest route would be. And right now its look like redrilling the wheels would be the simple route!! but yea post the pic if ya can.

id highly doubt that. think about the size of the lugnut head, thats already like 3-5mm. and where would the remaining factory stud go? there are divets in wheels for this reason, but not all wheels will have 20mm divets.
i still say second set, but like ive said, the fronts are going to be even more aggressive with spacers than the first set.

hey man im just going by what she said. I dont know i tried doing a search in the last few days i couldnt come up with jack!! but if all else fails ill just keep the wheels i currently have and just get my LBJ replaced and get my alignement, stance and suspension set.

that redrilling job looks good, if they can do a good job of it i'd go that way.
