New Guy with a few questions

Welp im new up here dont have a VIP styled car yet but looking to get into one. I am currently looking at a 94 GS300 with a 2jz swap with coilovers already. First few questions are related to this. Was wondering what exactly to look out for on these cars, what goes bad, what maintance that should b done to look to see if it has been done. How about the swap it looks like a very clean install, no random wires or anything like that and everything looks very well done.Next the car has Tein HA coilovers im coming from the VW scene and im looking to go low real low and i wanted to know if these coilovers will get me down where i want to be. Also searched but didnt find anything what are good offsets for the first gen gs ive only found a few pictures that actually have info and so far i saw 19 by 9 et 10 and 19 by 10 with an et of 15 and it sat flush. Ill deffinatly b doing fender work and running stretched tires so im thinking i can go a little more aggressive then this. If that deal falls threw im looking into a 2004 GS300 i know these are completly diffrent cars and the reason is the first one was offered to me on a trade plus cash for my current car and if it falls threw im going to look into something a bit newer and trade my car in towards it or what have u, basically have the same questions about it what to look for and look out for. Sorry thats so long any help would b greatly appreciated. Few pictures of the current car to make it a bit more intresting.

well to answer your question about offsets and wheel fitment, your just going to have to do a lot of research and see what other people have done... look for something that fits YOUR style... whenever i wanted to know about fitment, i looked in magazines/online or asked people i knew... so thats your best bet for that.

as for the coilovers, if they are full-tap coilovers then you should be able to get really low, but if they aren't full-tap then you might not be able to get as low... coilovers should be temporary anyways...

well if that's the case then i guess you'll be happy with coilovers... but as for me, i would rather have bags/hydros so that i could ride real low and if i come across any obstacles that i cant overcome i can just raise it with a flick of a finger and keep my kit intact.

Try searching the Lexus forums on here or even Clublexus.com or Gotham VIP (http://gothamvip.proboards.com/index.cgi?)
The GS is a very popular platform so there will be very little you want to do that hasn't already been done.

How many miles? Google the maintenance schedule. I recommend you get all that stuff out the way first and spend most of your time getting your suspension together before you think about looking for wheels...congrates and good luck!

Said the car itself has 150,000 on it and the motor has 40,000 the motor has all the major maintance done like timing belt, water pump and a bunch of other stuff. What maintance wise should b done to the car like the suspension, im guessing balljoints its on coilovers already but im not sure if the HA's will go low enough guess we will see.
