Compressors won't turn on! I'm stuck!

earlier today I had to air up to get out of my friends driveway but my compressors won't go on so it just drained out my tank until I can't lift anymore. I have my compressors set to turn on when I turn the key to ACC, I checked all my fuses and everything looks good. Could it be my pressure switch or the solenoid that hooks up to the battery? I'm hoping it's not my compressors. anybody know what I could do to check if these might be my problems?

I have 1 viair 480c compressor and 1 380c compressor hooked up to a 5 gallon tank with 4 ports. 2 on each side is hooked up to the compressor hose and air line and the other side is hooked up to the compressor hose and pressure switch. Usually my compressor would automatically turn on if air is running low in the tank but they just didn't go on. i wouldn't think both of my compressors are both blown because they weren't even hot when I checked them. dammit only if theres a 24/7 air suspension tech support but I gotta wait til tomorrow and see what universal air can do to help.

-check all your wires and grounds.  
-check the relay

first things first,  supply direct power to compressor.. that will tell u either compressors bad or u have some other electrical problem..

+1, it's probably just the pressure switch

What ever you are using to turn them on is not working.
Both pumps should be fine .
It probably is the relay controlling them.
Did you check the fuse for them?

Disconnect the 2 wires connected to the pressure switch and connect the 2 together...  ultimately bypassing the pressure switch. If they turn on, its the pressure switch. It would be easier if you had a voltmeter.

i have a had a compressor go out and it would have be seized , jus supply the power directly to the compssors and it works that be able to get you home , the pressure sensor and solinoids and relays could all be the issue get a colt meter and ohm out the pressure sensor switch and see if its reading . also uas zack is great support to.

probably the pressure switch or your relay, like others have said. Hope u get it fixed soon! PS do you have a schrader valve on your tank? I do and it's saved my ass a couple times when the compressor didnt wanna work. Nice if you're at home, fill it up with your garage compressor and you're good for a days driving (but no switch playing) haha.

okay so my friend and i tried hooking up my portable battery to the compressors and luckily both of them work fine. We also double checked the 10a fuse that's connected to the ACC inside the fuse box and those were good. This now narrows it down to either the pressure switch or the 80 amp solenoid hooked up to the battery. 

Oh another thing I noticed is when I try pressing the switches I won't hear a clicking noise anymore like it's not working. What is connected to the switchbox anyways? If I can't figure it out by tonight I'm just gonna buy these and see if they fix the problem.

Do you have a multimeter? It would make your troubleshooting very simple, you'd have your answer in 5 minutes of testing.

Take your wires going to your pressure switch, unhook them from the switch, touch them together. This should make your compressor(s) turn on. If they do turn on, either your tank was full OR the pressure switch is not working anymore. If they do not turn on then 1) you are not getting 12v from the "10a acc fuse" to the pressure switch or 2) the 12v is not making it from the pressure switch to your relay or 3) your main 80a relay is not working anymore.

Multimeters are cheap as hell down at frys, I'm sure there's one nearby in SD... Or even Radio Shack... Go pick one up and make your life easier...

One more thing cause I had a similar issue the other day... Tank was low, but brand new compressor wouldnt turn on... Touched the pres switch wires together and the relay would click, but no compressor start... So I go to the engine bay to check the fuses. I have a dual 40a fuse block it uses those (forgot name) square thin two prong orange fuses. The fuses themslves were not blown, but somehow one of them had become a little loose or a bad connection. After removing them and putting them back in, turn the car on and compressors work fine.

It's worth a shot.... Anyway, stop wasting your time and go buy a multimeter!!

thanks guys for all the help. I finally got the chance to install my new solenoid that I bought from universal air and it did the job. I guess the old one I had was really bad. I even bought a new pressure switch just in case but I'm just gonna save it until my original one is used up.
