y33 clicking noise at speed?

gentlemen,
i have this weird clicking noise at speed. it sounds metallic and the amount of clicking is directly proportional to the speed of the car. i've checked for play or seizing in the wheel bearings, but that doesn't seem to be the culprit. i've also posted on nico, but i haven't received any helpful replies (everybody's bashing on me for modifying my car, which seems totally taboo there. sounds like mbworld, too). here's the thread for reference: http://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread/438789-y33-wheel-bearings

does anybody have any advice?

thanks!

LOL at Q45tech's replies. What a nerd. Sorry if I'm no help. I do not know the solution of your problem.

haha, i was getting pissed. not at the fact that he called me out, but because he just kept on repeating the same things over and over again. there's something to be said about conciseness, no?

yeah i dont even go on nico q45 subforum... i hate that dude maxnix or what ever his screen name is....

does it sound like it is coming from the front or rear? if its te rear, maybe the c/v axle. if its from the front, it could be the brakes. does it sound differently when you apply the brakes, does the clicking get louder or softer when takin turns?

you know what, i'm thinking i'm going to take it to the dealer. they did a brake job + 120k mile service on it, and i started noticing the noises after they gave the car back to me. i think i'll ask the service guys there to troubleshoot it. i'm way too tired after all the shit (non car related) that i've done this week. hahaha

could be the brake shield. but thats more of a metal brush scraping kind of noise. What part of the car does it sound like it's coming from? and what speeds does it start and stop. Bearings would make your interior louder too. Check the rear axle and driveshaft also.

I am permanently banned on Nico for a "political" comment when the Virginia Tech shootings happened years back. I used to argue with those faggot Maxnix and "Q-tech" all the time. Meanwhile, you'll see my car is "ride of the month" from like April 07 or something. Over on Fresh Alloy's Q45 forum there's NONE of that nonsense and a good few of us from VSC are on there.

Clicking noise is hard to guess at though, best bet is like you said, take it back to dealer.

I noticed a clicking sound mainly with low profile tires when i had a rock stuck in the tire.
I know simple as hell but it happened. check your tires if you haven't already.

LOL Those guys on NICOclub are the worst I've ever seen. Instead of helping they blame it on your modified wheel and suspension setup. I had a clicking sound after I did my rear brakes before on my GS and it was the rotor not being seated correctly so it was rubbing on the dust shield a little bit. So I took it apart and put it back together and no more clicking. Hope you figure it out.

BTW, I wouldn't take your car to NorCal. At least not the bay area.
